BT's This Binary Universe is really a follow-up to his 2004 soundtrack to Monster, a brilliant work of cinematic moods and ambient Americana. It was unjustly ignored by both the Oscars and the Grammys, where it should have at least been nominated for Best Surround Sound Recording. None of that has stopped Brian Transeau from going further down this path of expansive ambient electronica that takes him out of the techno-pop and trance direction he had been pursuing. This Binary Universe taps into BT's classical side, with expansive arrangements and intricate, albeit minimalist, thematic development. From the opening of "All That Makes Us Human Continues," BT reveals himself as a master of Eno-esque melancholy, as simple melodies evolve through an electro-orchestral instrumental palette. Lounge jazz with solos in the key of abstract, plaintive arpeggiated guitars, electro marches, minimalist hymns, and pastoral dreamscapes drive an album that seeks out joy and redemption, but not without traveling through the dark. The last track, "Good Morning Kaia," is a paean to his newborn daughter, and the most purely anthemic track on the disc.
I suspect the real raison d'être of This Binary Universe is the accompanying 5:1 surround DVD. BT creates an immersive space that's less sonic pinball and more audio sculpture, often revealing different aspects of his music than in the stereo mix. Each song on the DVD has a unique video that includes antique robots, surreal landscape drawings, live action fantasies, and abstract designs. It's the best way to experience this music, but whether you watch the DVD or tune into the stereo CD, This Binary Universe may be the first ambient symphony of the 21st century. --John Diliberto

Yea, the best of the best.......2007-06-30
Have you ever bought a drink thinking you are getting something else. Say you buy a 'tea' but when you taste it, tastes like 'coke'. Oh, you bought the tea flavored coke. This is how I experienced BT's Binary Universe. I was expecting that in your face, break-beat, trance, old-school BT but this CD is definitely more ambient or house. With that being said, it is really a truly amazing CD. You won't get it the first time you listen to it, but if you listen to the CD over and over again it starts to sync-in. Some of the music is stuff you haven't heard before. Maybe in 10 years, musicians, producers will catch-up.
Really enjoyed track 4 through 6. Even though those are only 3 songs, they are long and change to different styles in the middle. 6 is freaking awesome.
I wanted to give it 5 stars, but because I was expecting something else, I knocked off a star. Good job though.
Brilliant, just brilliant.......2007-06-07
Men have been knighted for less.
If you like electronica in any way...strike that. If you think sound is kinda groovy, check this out. There will be something here for you.
Very good change for Mr. Transeau.......2007-06-01
This really is impressive music. Brian Transeau has always been at the front of the line for technological wizardry, but a lot of his tracks have lacked the kind of songwriting prowess that is sorely needed when writing anything electronic. His score to the movie "Stealth" was lackluster at best...
On a side note, the reviewer who falsely credited BT with the score to the Matrix movies should check his/her facts first. The score was by Don Davis, a wonderful band named Juno Reactor, and contained songs by Paul Oakenfold, Rob Dougan, and several rock bands, but absolutely no BT songs were on the soundtracks to any of the 3 movies or the "Animatrix" short film collection, or any of the video games (so far).
This is a really interesting album, containing 7 ambient tracks that tend to follow the Concerto style of establishing a theme, varying the theme, then returning to it. Most of these songs follow this pattern in some shape or form. A major theme in here is youth, particularly infantile youth. I believe that Kaia is the name of his daughter, and supposedly he had her in his arms for many parts of this writing process. Many of the melodies are very beautiful in that infantile sort of way, giving you the impression that they are lullabies of sorts.
They are wonderfully crafted with an infinite amount of detail. There are subtle changes to almost every piece in every sequence. This is best enjoyed with headphones or in surround, as many other reviewers have noted.
The only parts that didn't fit well with me were the power chord sections of "Good Morning Kaia" which clashed with the rest of the album. The jazz section of "Dynamic Symmetry" also sounded quite robotic and lifeless. Jazz does not fit in well with the kind of perfection of sound that BT uses, at least in this attempt.
Major highlights are the orchestral sections in "The Antikythera Mechanism", which are booming and powerful, and get torn apart cleverly by his editing. The other is the core of the song "1.618" (a BRAVE title for a song, I might add), which is this gorgeous hook at a walking pace that you could loop and listen to for 20 minutes.
Overall, wonderful sculpting and a dizzying array of effects make the replay value on this music through the roof. A bit more work on the last track and a little more life in the short jazz section would've made it near perfect.
OMFG.......2007-05-16
I dont really like the housey stuff by BT (or anyone) but this album has a classical sensibility and an epic feel that i love about other ambient electronica. If you like ambient electronica- this CD is perfectly crafted - I'm not joking - its like... f'n... perfect.
Amazing!.......2007-05-14
BT is a genious. This CD/DVD combo is a little different from a lot of his stuff I've heard in the past, but it is still excellent. The quality of the music on this CD MUST be listened to with good headphones to be truely appreciated! I am no audiophile, and I reguarly poke fun at their gigantic headphones, but in BT's case, this CD deserves the special treatment. You will miss a LOT of what he is including in his music if you listen with speakers. The DVD is also fantastic. The DTS surround makes it even better. It's great background video/music for a party. Do not download this from iTunes, buy the high quality CD/DVD and you won't be sorry!

Love this series.......2006-07-30
I have purchased a lot of the yogafit cd's and this slow flow series is the best! The beats are smooth and very tribal all at the same time. I use them in almost every class and play them a lot at home for my own personal practice.

Like partying with dear old friends you've never met before.......2005-02-04
If you like the Virgin/Some Bizarre "caucasian funk" era of CabVol, you're intimately familiar with these songs, but almost certainly not with most of the versions presented here. And yes, they are more than different enough to be engrossing and fun even if you've heard the albums a thousand times. It's also a nice best of from this era for the uninitiated or those familiar with the material but who only feel they need the "singles" of this era. In the absence of reissues of CODE and The Covenant, The Sword, and the Arm of the Lord, this also forms a good stopgap.
This is truly a multipurpose CabVol CD, and one even a casual fan will find delightful. It deserves a 4.5, but that option is not offered. Buy it and try not to pee yourself laughing when you hear the version of Don't Argue they included...

Customer Reviews:
Great new tunes for 80s synth pop fans.......2005-12-21
If you couldn't get enough new order, depeche mode, yaz, etc in the 80s, then this record is for u.
the good the bad and the what the heck was he thinking.......2004-07-30
i really enjoyed the upbeat "Destroy She Said" single, but that new version of "Sunglasses at Night" is terrible. the singer mucks up the words, misses the bridge completely, and then sings the chorus over a repeat of the verse music, avoiding the chords and melody of the original. he must have been really high when he recorded that, and it's obvious that he doesn't know his way around a studio. when you don't even respect the material enough to reference the original music and words, it's a sign you're full of baloney.
The Best Of.......2003-10-09
This compilation works perfect! I would say that 16 of the 20 songs are absolute masterpieces in the modern synth-pop and electroclash genre's. This mix compilation was the CD that started my obsession with this style of music. The compilation opens and closes with 2 very important songs...
Fischerspooner - "Emerge" - Probably the most well-known song on the compilation. Fischerspooner are from NYC and the guy/girl voices in this song are immaculate. (11/10)
Console - "14 Zero Zero" - A semi-interesting song by an interesting group from Europe. (6/10)
Zoot Woman - "Nobody Knows (Part One)" - Very soft sound.. almost like a synth-ballad. Believe it or not, but there is a Part 2 to this song, featured on their own album. Part 2 is very different but also much better! (8/10)
Tiga/Zyntherius - "Sunglasses At Night" - An awesome electro version for an awesome 80's hit. Tiga is hot stuff, and his new song "Hot In Herre" is a cover of a terrible song, but the dub mix proves what Tiga can do. Tiga is the greatest producer and DJ in the entire electroclash movement! Nobody beats Tiga!!! (10.5/10)
Soviet - "Candy Girl" - Goodness, an 80's vibration has overtaken myself with this song! The male singer is perfect. The beat is very comparable to that of 80's italo disco. I bought their entire album because of this one song, and it is one of the best synth-pop albums I ever owned! (11/10)
Circ - "Destroy She Said" - Female vocals with a dance beat.. Very cool mixture of beat, vocals, and effects. (9/10)
Green Velvet - "Genedefekt" - Green Velvet (AKA Cajmere) is a must for this compilation! Although "La La Land" is his best song, this one makes its obvious appearance. (8/10)
Waldorf - "You're My Disco" - Here we go with another awesome song that absolutely blew me away on the first listen. Sounds like a production out of the original synth-pop era in the 80's. It has a very un-appealing and absurd synthesizer noise at the beginning and mid-break of the song, but beyond that, this is a wild song to listen to! (10/10)
Tomcraft - "Overdose" - Hmm.. DJ Tomcraft has done some very experimental stuff lately in Europe and has actually had a top 5 hit with "Loneliness" from early 2003. I am beginning to consider this a possible favorite song on the compilation. Tomcraft is doing for the 00's what the founders of synth-pop did for the 80's. His new album features this song and all his other big electro hits! (11/10)
Swayzak - "State Of Grace" - More awesome synth-pop!!! This is another song that mistakes itself for an 80's dance club smash. I've heard this beautiful voice far too many times before. Top song on the compilation! Swayzak is sexy and needs no introduction here! This song is absolutely not their normal sound.. they are very experimental and dark.. this is a softer release by them and for their true clash sound, try "Ikea" which is a b-side and appears on Tiga's DJ Kicks mix. (11/10)
Yellow Note Vs. Pukka - "Naked, Drunk And Horny" - Definately the funnest song on the compilation. A very happy sound involved here. (9.5/10)
Golden Boy / Miss Kittin - "Rippin Kittin" - One of the best electroclash songs ever. You should already know this one! Anybody who Miss Kittin collaborates with becomes an instant star in the electroclash world! Very dark vocals! (11/10)
Felix Da Housecat - "Happy Hour" - Miss Kitty's good friend is here with an excellent song. Very 80's! One of FDH's best productions! (11/10)
Crossover - "Extensive Care" - A song that builds on you and then it takes over your mind. This song reminds me of a movable new wave hit from the 80's.. (10/10)
F.C. Kahuna - "Machines Says Yes" - (8.5/10)
Selway - "Pozition" - A bit like Tomcraft's incorporated sounds with some synthesizers thrown in. John Selway AKA Memory Boy is a friend of mine and I must commend him with all of his music, but "There Is No Electricity" by Memory Boy is by far his best production and it competes with the best of Fischerspooner and Miss Kittin. (7/10)
Ladytron - "Playgirl" (Zombie Nation Mix) - This has grown on me. I originally despised any mix other than Felix Da Housecat's, but now I am beginning to think just as highly of the Zombie Nation mix of Playgirl. This is a very catchy mix, very different from the Felix mix or any Zombie Nation production. A quick plug to "Kernkraft 400" by Zombie Nation from 1999: one of the originators of modern synth-pop, and a #1 European hit! (10.5/10)
Toktok Vs. Soffy O - "Go!" - Nothing groundbreaking, just nice to listen to. Their entire album is fair at best in my opinion. Quite popular in UK. (8.5/10)
Mirwais - "Naive Song" (Dave Clarke Mix) - Hmmm, probably one of the 2 songs I didn't really jump for on this compilation. Dave Clarke is big in Germany and has done a production in partnership with none other than Chicks On Speed. (6/10)
F.P.U. - "Ocean Drive" - Damn right, finish this compilation with an awesome cover version. "Crockett's Theme" has been covered so many times, but this is the one! This is the best version I ever heard of this song! Jan Hammer has let someone outdo himself! F.P.U.'s album is fine, and so is the Tiga White Linen mix of this song (once again Tiga takes his own voice and implements it into this instrumental song). One of those songs with a title that fits quite well. Without a doubt! (11/10)
This is the best compilation to start from because it gives you a little bit of everything. And the songs are almost all awesome and innovative. Worth every penny!
21st century liquid sky?.......2003-07-22
I am not going to endlessly compare Electroclash to New Romantics, Europop, Synthpop and other bubblegum pop styles of of the early 80's. Some songs on this collection combined Techno, House, funk with New Wave. That sounds great to me.Waldorf's fun song is one of the better tracks but it is not a New Romantic "mix." He is probably not old enough to know what the movement was about. Visage was a NR. Vicious Pink Phenomenon was a NR. The first Duran Duran album is a New Romantic classic. Not even Cee Farroh could cut it as a NR. Waldorf is a 21st century disco. There is nothing subversive about "Your My Disco". The catchy and totally danceaable song did not take me back to the glory days of lipstick kisses. Back then, to be a New Romantic was to be unique, and it was for a fan to be more fabulous than the actual bands. A club was a giant fashion show for the elite. The music was second and the blitz kid's wardrobe was first on the list because it was perhaps the only way to pass the fashion police doorboy to get in a real New Romantic venue if you did not have any inside connections. "Emerge" by Fischerspooner is nice. I wish it was a short version. The only factor I did not like about this song is the phony annoying female. It sounded like a pitched up voice of the male singer. This song, on the other hand, is closer to New Wave than 90's Techno but more complex than most 80's hits as far as the rhythm goes."Naked, Drunk And Horny" is the most standout. Think of it as Laury Anderson with a 21st century youth appeal high on body fluids. Yellow Note Vs. Pukka captured most of the current clubgoers' hormonic "needs" throught the world. The electronic voice manipulations are tasty enough to prove my point. If the singer's cuteness matches her playful robotic voice, she will be a big star. You will also hear the totally awesome "14 Zero Zero". This song is probably the closest you will get to take you back in the 80's. The music is full of sythetic attitude to convert even the jaded Techno fans but I wouldn't hold my breath. It reminds me of Telex meets Information Society and Zapp. You will not be disappointed unless vocoders are not your swing.Overall, at a "used" price, this cd is worth buying. It would have been a classic if the compiler included the following songs: "Hot Room" by Lind Lamb, "Space Invaders Are Smoking Grass" by I-F, "I Don't Care" by Dexter, short versions of "Life On MTV" by Miss Kitten/Hacker and "Get Me Off" by Basement Jaxx and Peaches. The compilation as it stands does not have enough drama a la "Liquid Sky".
The More Radio-Friendly Side of Electro--.......2003-05-18
This is a very good compilation of the new sound of ElectroClash (or Tech-pop, or whatever it's known as this week).
Having said that, it is very much the softer side. There is Miss Kitten, but she's singing what equates to a rather pretty little melody (regardless of the murderous lyrics). There is Green Velvet doing 'Genedefekt', But it is the version without the trade-mark off-kilter vocals. Just about the only thing on here which is even a little more challenging is Fisherspooner's 'Emerge', but come on, it's on so many collections now that even my mom could sing along with it.
Now, I'm not saying that this isn't a great collection, because it is a lot of fun, packed end to end with catchy tunes that in all fairness would be getting a lot more radio play in a more fair universe. However, just know that it is called 'Tech-POP' for a reason on the cover.

bad music.......2006-04-23
this is teribly music how can any 1 enojoy this garbage this is worse than this is noize!
Good but not great.........2006-04-19
Don't pay full whack for this, if it's going cheap then by all means..
The whole album has a 99/2000 trancey feel to it which can only be a good thing, but unfortunately only a few songs stand out IMHO:-
Fragma - Man in the moon (bit cheesy but it's quality cheese ;))
Darude - Music
Vimana - We came (quality)
Hampshire & Nysse - Eternal voices (v. nice)
Trance Allstars - Lost in love (not bad)
The mixing is very good, but then it should be as DJ Tatana is a very accomplished DJ and she's done some damn fine mix CDs, go and take a look for yourselves.
Keep the trance alive!
Stu
This is NOT trance........2005-03-18
Personally, I love trance (especially hard trance)...and I don't enjoy this CD. I'm not denying there are a few good songs on it, and DJ Tatana does know how to DJ, but his CD lacks one thing-creativity. Nothing is apparent to me that made this unique than an DJ mix that you can download free (and legally) online.
I do enjoy listening to Eye of the Tiger and Man in the Moon, those I believe are good examples of trance, though still not the best I've heard. I do not recommend this CD to anyone-even though it says those who enjoy "stadium trance" (which 'eye of the tiger' I believe is a good definition of) will love this CD. Maybe I have the wrong defintion before I bought this, but this is not a type of trance I like anymore.
I recommend you check out www.di.fm for some great electronic music (and if you go to www.di.fm/edmguide you will find excellent defintions of all genres with sound samples. You will find "Stadium Trance" is not listed.)
One Of The Best Trance CDs Yet!!!.......2005-03-01
"This Is Trance" is one of the best CDs I've heard so far. I highly recommend everyone who loves trance to get this CD, I promise that you won't be disappointed.
At least its better than volume 2.......2004-09-10
What the hell! Does anyone realize that the first track on here is just a vocalized version of last year's Cafe del mar (Marco V. remix)? I am not impressed. Though there are a FEW great tracks on here you'll find yourself playing those and only those songs, ultimately playing them out sooner than you had hoped. Volume 2 is the same way, maybe even worse. I buy them because they are very low priced and the mixing is good. They definitely know how to suck me in though. By having a well known trance artist mix each volume. Voodoo and Serano mixed the second. We'll see who mixes 3.

you shall be pushed.......2006-08-14
the fisrt scooter single i ever herd was the logical song, since then i have been a massive fan. when i heard this song, i had to get the album. push the beat for this jam was the best album i ever brought and thanks to this i became a fan of scooter, it offers great singles from 98 till 2002 and some fantastic remixes just begging to be heard time and time again. today i have now got all scooter albums out and i am happy that i brought this album, this is a great album with massive replay for constant great music, a must have for fans and any who would be intrested in scooters tunes, you never know, you might become a fan yourself.
PUSH THE BEAT FOR THIS JAM - ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!!.......2006-07-24
This is Scooter's second compilation of singles, the first being "Rough and Tough and Dangerous" (that was the period in which Ferris Bueller was with the band from 1994 to 1998). I thought "Rough and Tough and Dangerous" was bloody awesome, but I found this compilation to be even more bloody awesome. This album is the compilation of singles when Axel Coon was with Scooter (1998-2002).
OK, first of all, it's hard to say what is the greatest Scooter song or album ever, but I think that this album ranks up there just because it is filled to the brim with non-stop, toe-tapping, edge-of-your-seat musical action. After all, they are taking their "best" songs and sticking them on one album with a ton of extras!
But the singles from this period truly were great. I think in their earlier years their regular albums overall were better as a whole, but their singles from this period were better. I mean, who can't resist jumping up and down to smash hits like "How Much is the Fish?" or "Aiii Shot the DJ"?
CD 1:
The first of these two fat CD's includes all the singles and the b-sides of those singles. The singles themselves are incredible, my personal favorites being "How Much is the Fish?" "Call Me Mañana" and "I'm Your Pusher". Others that are very popular include "Faster Harder Scooter", "F*ck The Millenium", and "Ramp! (The Logical Song)".
The b-sides are equally impressive, and I think many are unaware of these hidden treasures. They are obscure because most people don't buy all of the individual singles, which is the only other place you can buy them. They may seem strange in comparison to the other songs, but musically they are pretty great tracks. My advice for listening to Scooter's b-sides is just to accept the fact that they're more "electronic" rather than "hardcore techno/trance" and you'll enjoy them better. Particularly entertaining are "Sputnik", the hypnotic "Firth of Forth", melancholy "Monolake", and my personal favorite - "Bramfeld", for its sheer fast-paced, dissonant, yet highly addictive sound.
CD 2:
Alright, I have to admit, disc 2 isn't as good as disc 1, but I have valid reasons. First of all there are several remixes and live versions of some of the singles, and they are kind of redundant. While there are some interesting changes from song to song, it's really just more of the same stuff from disc 1. That being said, the Airscape mix of "I'm Your Pusher" is excellent, and the live version of "How Much is the Fish" makes you really wish you could have been at the concert at which it was recorded.
In addition to these remixes/live versions, there are four new tracks that had been previously unreleased. The first, "Habanera [Big Room Mix]" is, of course, a techno version of the aria Habanera from Georges Bizet's legendary opera Carmen. "No Pain, No Gain" is one of Scooter's best instrumental trance songs ever, combining a fat melody with a fast pulse. "Loud and Clear" is OK, with H.P. Baxxter doing his usual thing, but it sounds too much like Faster Harder Scooter. My favorite of the four is "Am Fenster" - the only Scooter song entirely in German with an amazing electric violin solo.
So, now that you've read the scoop, I recommend this as a must for all techno lovers. If you're into a broad range of techno and only know a little about Scooter, I recommend buying this just so that you have at least one Scooter album in your collection (because if you were to have at least one album, I think most would agree this is the most all-encompassing). And if you're a hardcore Scooter fan, to not own this album is a cardinal sin.
If you're new to Scooter but want to become a true fan I would suggest trying "Rough and Tough and Dangerous" to hear a compilation of their earliest work before listening to this. The nice thing about their compilations is that you get a taste of all their best stuff without having to waste money buying every one of their regular albums and singles. That's what I did, and I nearly lost all of my money trying to buy every Scooter song ever written (until I discovered file-sharing, of course).
If you are completely new to all electronica or dance, I would recommend buying this album first. Scooter really does put all other techno/trance bands to shame, and if this is your first techno/trance album you listen to, you will get a true taste of what good dance music sounds like, with a huge variety of music among the album. Very few other groups can compare with Scooter (especially since very few other groups have an M.C. trying to be a white German rapper in most of the songs). Of course the downside of this is that when you start listening to other groups, you will probably be let down somewhat.
This is one of my favorite albums of all time. It's a bit like "Kind of Blue" - even though it's from a specific genre, it is loved by all for its musical greatness. No matter how you look at it, "Push the Beat for This Jam" is a paramount work - a colossal set of great art all culminating in 2 CDs. Even though Amazon's price for it is outrageous, it's definitely worth it - I recommend it to everyone in the world!
"Now and forever, Scooter's gonna rock the place..."
Showed the critics that they have staying power.......2006-05-23
Who's got the last laugh now? OK I know that was cheesy for me to throw that in there, but you know I had to. Ramp was a big hit and well this album is full of hits. Usually greatest hits albums are just a compilation of songs and were never really hits in the first place, these songs were though and for a good reason too. It was because they were good. Buy this now! You get all the hits from 98 to 2002, plus more stuff on disc 2 like live tracks and remixes and this compilation has new songs on it which all are good also.
Strong contender for Coolest CD Ever Made.......2003-04-22
Seriously. This might be the coolest CD I've ever heard.
Scooter are the best techno band going, in my mind, and it's ridiculous how few Americans have heard them. This album collects the singles and b-sides from their "second chapter" (defined by the third member of the band; in this era Axel Coon joined core members H.P. Baxxter and Rick Jordan). If you've never heard Scooter, this is about the best introduction you could get, but some of their best songs hide later on in their full-length albums and were never released as singles, and hence didn't make it onto this disc.
"Ramp!" is a sweet song, but don't let it fool you: "Aiii Shot the DJ" is the real beginning of this CD. This one is in my top three techno songs, and if you have a friend who wants to know what Scooter is all about, this should be the first song you play them. In due course, you get the bombastic "I'm Your Pusher," techno ballad "She's the Sun," the great single mix of "F the Millennium," and "FASTERHARDERSCOOTER," which any Scooter fan will tell you is the coolest song ever. We're only a fourth of the way in at this point. There is not a bad or even average song on the entire album (though I'm not much of a fan of remixes and live recordings).
Yes, the price is steep on all Scooter albums, but this one is a two-disc set and thus presents an especially good value. This is a collection of absolutely transcendant techno, and if you like this kind of music even the slightest bit you should scrounge up the money. Also look at "Back to the Heavyweight Jam," in my opinion the best all-around Scooter album.
one of the greatest albums by scooter.......2002-06-20
since it has many songs from the past albums i think its really great. it includes Ramp! (the logical song) which is also available as a single. also look at Nessaja if u like Ramp.

Noize.......2003-03-30
While many are ambivalent about this CD I think it is good. It reminds me of all the happy hardcore raves I have been to and the memories are good. The music while at times dull and repetitive, is at other times the most mind shatteringly incrediable music you ever will experince. But after all it's just a CD, so just buy it and take a listen yourself.
happy hardcore!.......2002-06-30
if you like the anabolic frolic cd's you'll love this one. i really love disc 1 better than disc 2 cause disc 1 has all the old school stuff on it. disc 2 is a little slower also. i say the slowest the songs get is 170bpm and the fastest is 175bpm (now is the time) my favorite song is "eurocore (jolly roger 4) the melody keeps it up.
Happy to the core!.......2000-11-19
This CD is GREAT! I'd say I like disc 1 better than disc 2. The first one consists of old school songs continually mixed..there are so many great songs on the first one, when I first got this I listened to it all night up till dawn. I could listen to the first song over and over forever! It's got such great scratching! Disc 2 is some new stuff I guess. It's not mixed together, but its good! Tiem bomb is my personal favorite. It's got some really positive (as always) and meaningful lyrics. If you love happy hardcore, get this CD!
classic noize.......2000-07-26
i would definately recommend 'this is noize' for anyone out there at all interested in happy hardcore, or anyone simply interested in getting their energy level up. disc 1 is great because it is mixed, so you get a good feeling the whole way through listening to how the dj's make it flow...and its high energy all the way. disc 2 is a little different. its not mixed, and many of the tracks have sort of a darker feel....great for driving at night or for a rainy day. although not all of disc 2 is dark (time bomb comes to mind as a happy track)there is more of a hard edge feel (back in business), a lot of vocals but not in the style of disc one (which is mostly 'classics,') and again, the dreary feeling is represented well (senti le passione, rainmaker). anyway, i'm happy i bought it. you should do the same.
Noize is awesome!.......2000-02-22
This album is packed with happy hardcore anthems both new and old. Disc one has classics such as Scott Brown's "Now Is The Time" and Hixxy's "Together Forever". Disc two shows us how far happy hardcore has progressed, check out "Heart of Africa" or Unique's "5 A.M." for a more sophisticated sound or the title cut if you just want to go bonkers at your next party! Worth the money, especially as it's a double CD (NOT a box set)
