Outstanding.......2001-01-25
This is the best CD! Any age will enjoy the music. I know some of the band very well and they are SO nice! I recomend it!
bringing a little hope back to the USA.......2000-01-08
with a brilliant blend of dazzling melodies (sometimes in the vein of early Split Enz but mostly 60's pop , sometimes bubblegum) tony carbone (who is this fella....i wanna meet him) puts together 13 cuts so cute and so impressive youd like to see BIKERIDE get a break. my fave cuts are 13, 10, and 4.....but all are grand. synths find their place throughout the album giving it a very modern, almost avant-garde feel, fusing the nicest things about pop into some nice jams. granted, one must be sophisticated musically to apppreciate this.
JEALOUSY HANGS....

It has charm....but at what cost?.......2004-08-09
It must have been about 5 years ago or so that I bought this album. I listened to it fairly regularly for about a month, and it fit well in my summer listening rotation. I enjoyed the inherent charm of this bedroom-recorded affair. Bikeride doesn't overdo anything: handclaps, whistling, horns. But perhaps that's the problem. If you haven't heard it, maybe a good way to describe it is on par with 3rd generation Elephant 6 bands. But wait - they predate those bands, so I guess you could say they were the first of the 3rd generation to pray at the altar of the Beach Boys. The album is most certainly a little bit twee, but I went through that important stage in my emotional devlopment (what a confessional review this has become). By the end of the summer the album found its way underneath my bed. Being stuffed in a trash can for the second time by my roommates was a good catalyst for change.
