    The Pop & Wave series of CDs are the seminal compilations of music from the 1980s. Why? Although it would seem analagous to selling the CDs in the U.S., this series specialized in compiling music from very popular "new wave" and pop groups from the 1980s, but the recordings are those that were more popular in Europe than the U.S. After all, the really cutting edge stuff was coming out of Europe anyway.

    These CDs are all but impossible to get your hands on and when you can they are expensive as the devil. While I highly recommend these albums, I stop short of recommending that anyone drop approximately $150 U.S. for a two CD set.

    Let's keep our fingers crossed that the entire series is rereleased soon at a reasonable rate!

    Steve is probably my favorite guitarist of all time.
    I had the extreme pleasure of seeing him perform with
    Genesis a couple of times in the 70s. What can I say -
    it changed my life. Expanded my musical horizons to the
    highest level. Opened doors. The performances here are
    very, very good. My personal favorite is the second 70s disc,
    although they all have their strong points. The 90s disc
    is probably my second favorite. There are really no words
    to accurately describe Mr. Hackett's unique style.
    It just seems so sad that today he is hardly noticed
    in America and there are few bands around today that give
    as much to their performance or even begin to know how.
    If you love fantastic original guitar or are a fan of Hackett's
    you won't want to miss this unique look back.

      Awesome! Narly! Cool beans! This CD has the best part of the eighties compiled together. Some of these songs have become extremely hard to find and if you're so lucky to find them you're paying out more money on songs you don't want. Been there, done that!             Several good surprises (blasts from past!) - such as M, Yazoo and John Foxx.
