Riding the momentum of the hit single "Learn to Fly," which hit No. 1 on the modern-rock charts long before this album's release, the Foo Fighters' third record is unarguably its most refined and poppy. The ominous riff that the opens "Stacked Actors" (which sounds like something Kurt Cobain could have hacked out on Nirvana's gnarly In Utero) is pretty much a red herring. The 10 tunes that follow are a succession of hook-laden pop songs tarted up with guitarist-vocalist (and former Nirvana drummer) Dave Grohl's thick guitars and increasingly sugar-sweet vocals. Nearly every cut on There Is Nothing Left to Lose has the potential of following "Learn to Fly" up the charts. The production is big and friendly and songs like "Generator," "Aurora," and "Headwires" just melt in your mouth. And even though the Foo Fighters' latest is seductively sweet in sound, there are just enough rough edges and lyrical angst to keep things interesting. --Adem Tepedelen

One of the Best Rock Albums of the '90s.......2007-01-27

Probably the only album that I can honestly say does not contain a weak song on the entire cd.

An incredible combination of lyrics, vocals, electric guitar, and drums that accompany each other perfectly...which seems a difficult task in this music genre. For me personally, it often seems that in the albums of other bands, either the vocals, guitar, or drums override the other two...but not in this album.

Dave Grohl has outdone himself (yet again). It's the musical version of caffeine and an electric album to work out to. Taylor Hawkins' drums are solid, powerful, and clean (listen to the first 20 seconds of Gimme Stitches and you will see what I mean).

Although "Learn to Fly" is probably the most recognized track (with an incredibly funny music video to match)...most of the other songs are equally memorable and high energy and all are worth listening to again and again.

The Foo Fighters certainly had a lot to prove when they released this gem back in 99'. Avoiding the sophmore slump in a big way, Dave and the gang released one of the top albums of the 90's (and of all time in many rock fan's eyes). Would "There Is Nothing Left to Lose" compare to "The Colour and the Shape", or would it be a dissapointment. Well, although the album hasn't been heralded over time as TCATS has, it certainly deserves to be. Every track here is a fantastic blend of pop and rock, from Stacked Actors to M.I.A. The highlight is of course Aurora, a little love song Dave wrote about his life in Seattle, that just happens to be this Foo Fighter fanatics favorite of all time. The truth is this isn't the Colour and the Shape. However TINLTL certainly deserves to be recognized as one of the greatest albums of the 90's, and one of Dave Grohl's most wonderful achievements.

The number of cd's that an individual owns is not an indicator of that person's musical expertise-it just means that the person likes to shop for music. Everyone has different musical tastes and will view music differently. This is not my favorite Foo Fighters cd-"The Colour and the Shape" and "In Your Honor" are..but this is a favorite in my collection..of close to 2000 cd's.

Enjoyable.......2006-04-06

This is a solid release for the Foo Fighters. This perhaps stands as one of their best albums, from the totally awesome opening song "Stacked Actors" to the slower concluding song "MIA", I say this isn't a "boring and predictable" album. What, did the person below me know every single chord Dave was going to play in advance? Please, it doesn't matter if you have 2000 or 2000000 CDs, anyone with a remote taste for rock music should like at least 3 songs on TINLTL.

Like I mentioned above, the opening song "Stacked Actors" is truely amazing, with it's head-banging chorus and soft and dreamy verses. "Breakout" is also fast-paced, and of course it's followed by the big single "Learn To Fly", which is how I was introduced to the Foo Fighters. Actually, every song on here I like, so I won't bother naming any more. Indeed, it's a rare thing for me to be able to enjoy listening to a whole ablum without skipping any songs.

As a whole, I think the Foo Fighters are a very mature band, and I appreciate the fact that they don't need to swear every 3 words in order to have cool songs. And don't be fooled: Nirvana was an entirely different kind of band than the Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl is awesome on drums, though, I must admit. So anyways, the Foo Fighters are worth getting into, because they always have solid releases and are just fun to listen to. Pick this one up, you'll like it.

This is, overall, my favorite Mouse album. The first three tracks work together so well, with the looping meandering guitar riffs and the lyrics that sound like the life of every disenchanted teenager or young adult that's ever lived. As always with Mouse there are some tracks that get a little noisy or sound a little incomplete, but that's part of the charm. Brock doesn't write consistently perfect songs, but he writes so many perfect songs that it's almost a relief to realize that he's not flawless. Perhaps the most gifted lyricist in alternative rock, some of the wordplay is pure poetry.

I am a huge modest mouse fan. but i know this record is not for everyone.
please start with the new modest mouse this stuff might turn you off to them at first listen. I love this CD! it has so many great qualities that dont show up on other modest mouse records.

I really enjoy the overall dry twangyness in this album. The opening tracks are instant indie/alternative classics. Very quirky, laid back material that could easily please any Modest Mouse fan. I also recommend Lonesome Crowded West for more wonderful work.

Best Modest Mouse album.......2007-01-31

Here is what I have to say: This is my favorite Modest Mouse album. This album captures to total perfection what it feels like to be sad and cold but at the same time filled with a sweet appreciation for your own existence. There is such a fantastic reality to be found here. This will always be at the top for me. There is a good section of my life in which this is the definitive soundtrack. The music can be so bare but masterfull it makes you want to scream. Like living in a sparse cold room that you still find beautiful. If you want good music then, here, take this.

As much as I wanted to diss them for being too heavily indebted to the Pixies, I could not resist the magnificence of this album. It blew me away when I first heard it, and it continues to.

Modest Mouse has released a slew of great albums, so I can't say this is my favorite, but it might be....

A duet between an author and the character he created, each claiming "you're nothing without me," is just one example of how sharp, witty and clever show is, with an unusual score, jazzy and bluesy and very 1940s, and some of the best lyrics I know.

Fantastic Jazz Musical That's FUN!!!.......2006-04-14

City of Angels is an incredibly fun, classy, and jazzy musical that delivers. Stellar vocal performances are provided by the entire cast, particularly the female end. The fact that Randy Graff was the only female from this cast nominated at the Tony Awards that year floors me. Kay McClelland and Rachel York deserved nods for their powerful solos, With Every Breath I Take and Lost Found, alone. These two songs are also the type of sultry, jazz solos that one would expect in the 40's, which is why the show works. The music is completely period with when the show takes place, and that's why I love it. The best tracks are:

1990 Tony winner for Best Musical, "City Of Angels" contains a great score, filled with jazz-oriented melodies & torch songs. Not all the songs are terrific, but most of the score lends itself to repeat listenings. Best tracks include:

This is one of my favorite soundtracks ever! Since I'm going to be working on music for the show, I'm happy that this is the case. It has been in my CD player for a few weeks now, and there's enough variety for it not to get old. But having read through the script makes the lyrics infinitely wittier. Musicals are supposed to rely partially on the lyrics and partially on the script. This show does that perfectly. Without the script, the lyrics are (apparently) lacking. But without the lyrics, the script is missing something. When you put the two pieces together, however, it's really easy to see why this show won a Tony.

Following up on the release of his debut CD, The Voice, Russell Watson is back with Encore, another mix of opera favorites and popular songs. By now Watson has become virtually a household name--he sells out large concert venues and remains on the top-seller charts. On Encore, we find Puccini and Verdi sharing the billing with Lulu and Lionel Ritchie on the CD's 16 tracks, which range from the much-loved Bach-Gounod "Ave Maria" to "Where My Heart Will Take Me," the theme for Enterprise (the latest Star Trek TV series). Indeed, a more fitting title might have been The Voices, since Watson explores opera, sacred works, film, television themes, and pop songs. The orchestral arrangements on tracks such as "Va, Pensiero" may not win him any fans from the opera contingency, but Watson reveals a captivating sound on pop ballads, including "You Are So Beautiful" and "Somewhere." Russell Watson is amazing. It is truly a delight to hear him sing both the pop and the arias, for he performs both equally well. His rendition of Volare is very fun, and when he sings Somewhere, it's simply breathtaking. His duet with Lionel Richie was also splendid. They really did sound fantastic together. The two low points for me were The Prayer, because I couldn't stand Russell's duet partner, Lulu, and Don't Know How I Got By, because the song just didn't seem to suit Russell's voice. However, the other tracks more than make up for those few inferior selections. Russell Watson truly is a talented man, and I highly recommend this album.

I have all 4 of Russell's Cd's and this is by far his wrose.
The Classical stuff is great but The pop stuff is some of the wrose pop stuff he has even done.

NOT REALLY WORTH A HALO NUMBER..............................2006-11-30

I have been a DEVOTED NIN fan since 90' when I first heard "Sin" at a college party during my freshman year, and they will ALWAYS be my #1 band.....but seriously.......this EP does NOT deserve a Halo #....come on, Trent......you can do better than this!

A Somewhat Bland Release........2006-10-12

"Every Day Is Exactly The Same," a six-track EP for the release of the third single off "With Teeth," is perhaps one of Trent's least interesting releases. Combining a few new remixes with some you most likely already have, this is the perfect EP to irritate the hardcore Nine Inch Nails collector.

Sounds Like: Something I already bought.

The Good:
- It's fairly inexpensive.
- Three remixes are exclusive to this release.
- Those three are worth listening to.

The Bad:
- The two remixes for "The Hand That Feeds" are recycled from previous releases.
- Overall, there isn't much material.

Hits: The "Sam Fog Vs. Carlos D" remix of the title track and the Richard X remix of "Only."

Misses: "The Hand That Feeds" remixes -- while good in their own right -- are kinda pointless additions to this release.

Personally: I like the new remixes, but when you think about it, half of this EP has already been released. I'm a moderate NIN collector, and I already own that stuff. What does that say to the hardcore enthusiast? If you aren't the biggest NIN fan on Earth, it's worth picking up. But don't expect something as good as "Things Falling Apart" or "Still."

Best Listened To When: You wanna dance to some 'nails.

Surprisingly good remix EP........2006-10-05

It might disappoint "halo collectors" when they get a hold of this, seeing as some remixes previously appeared on other singles. However, this is much cheaper and considering I wasn't big on "With Teeth", I'm surprised how much I enjoyed this.

The title track is one of the great tracks on "With Teeth". While not the straightforward, anthemic "The Hand That Feeds" or the electro-funk "Only", it stands out in its own way. It's sort of a slow-burner, but with a nice melody. The DFA remix of "The Hand That Feeds" is worth the price of this thing. It is quite the contrast of the original, this one being much more of an electro track. If you like DFA stuff like LCD Soundsystem, I think you'll enjoy the remix. Sure, it's kind of lengthy, but that ain't such a bad thing. The other remix is sort of just an extended mix of the original, although focusing more on instrumental parts of the song.
The El-P remix of "Only" is also another great one here. It gives the song an awesome trip-hop feel, which I think fits better for the spoken word first verse than the actual song itself. It's a lot of fun to listen to. The other remix of the song is okay. And then there's the awesome "Sam Fog vs. Carlos D." remix of "Every Day...", which is quite an enjoyable track. The remix is kind of interesting, although I have never thought of the song as anything I'd dance to or would.

It isn't the greatest NIN single/album, but the best we could expect. It makes me optimistic about the future of NIN since I wasn't actually as consistently impressed with a lot of the recent stuff, in spite my love for the first four albums (esp. "The Fragile") and the live performance I saw last year. I recommend it if you are a NIN fan. Not quite as good as the "Downward Spiral" singles, but it's just about as good.

Trent Reznor needs drugs........2006-08-30

Seriously. Somebody force Trent Reznor to get back on cocaine as quickly as possible. Without his source of inspiration, his music will just get worse from here on, and his idea of purchase-worthy releases will continue to confound and anger his fans. He'll wind up like Pink Floyd after Roger Waters left, with only a mere shred of his former musical glory left. For the good of the world, give Trent Reznor drugs right now.

Packs into 5 CD's a sampling of Broadway tunes from the 20's thru (almost) today, mostly from original cast recordings. Includes not just well-known hits, but also some lesser-known gems. Sound quality is first rate, booklet is informative too. Have given this as a gift to several friends with rave reviews.

Top Shelf.......2007-01-04

This is THE definitive collection of Broadway hits. I have other collections, and none of them measure up. A great deal of care was obviously taken in compiling and presenting this box set. It covers a lot of ground, starting with some long-forgotten but still very enjoyable hits from the days of yore, and finishing with present-day favorites. To the best of my knowledge, the recordings are by those who made them famous. You won't be disappointed.

If you are a fan of the Broadway Musicals, this is a collection that you should purchase. Since I got the 5 disc set I've enjoyed listening to it. The majority of the songs are done by the original singers. The collection is priceless considering that you will have over 100 songs from popular musicals since the beginning of Broadway

Switchfoot Goes Philosophical.......2007-06-02

I have been listening to Switchfoot since New Way To Be Human, and I have to say that this is their most philosophical album to date. The music is pretty much the same, except that it isn't as fast paced as some of the other albums, but it is still great!

So, if you are looking for an album to get your blood pumping, this probably is not the one. Yes, it does have a few fast songs, but the majority are more laid back. Still, I really enjoyed this album... and I am sure all dedicated Switch Foot will too.

Favorite album EVER!.......2007-01-30

I'm defintely one of Switchfoot's biggest fans and this is my favorite cd! I love Lonely Nation, and Daisy and We Are One Tonight and The Blues is hands down my favorite song. Even after this cd had been out for months it was still spinning in my cd player. I never get tired of this cd no matter how often I listen to it!

This is one of the best unknown CDs in a very long time. You'll be impressed from start to finish. I really hope these guys keep pumping out albums like this one, and although I reviewed the newer "Oh! Gravity" first, I've owned this CD for about a year and a half. Get this CD, and it will never leave your car, or your iPod! 5 STARS!

4.5 Stars for a ever improving Switchfoot.......2006-09-26

This is the latest release by the talented group of young men who call themselves 'Switchfoot', they have matured through experience and touring together. This album heralded a shift by Switchfoot who were known by their earlier works as a Christian Rock Band. They have shed that label and now enter the rock scene as a fully fledged rock band. But they haven't forgotten their roots and the lyrics are as potent and beautiful as in their earlier albums.

However what stands out in this album release is the shifting in the sound of Switchfoot, there is a more of a soft rock feel with most songs melodious and on the softer side. 'Nothing Is Sound' is the continuing growth and change of this band. They have been around for 8 years and have established themselves as a premier group that will be around for a long time to come.

This latest release has two hits in 'Stars' and 'Easier Than Love'. Each song has a message within lyrics and the theme of this album surrounds the youth of today in our society. 'Lonely Nation' deals with how loneliness can affect people and its consequences. 'The Blues' is a beautifully sung song that anyone can relate to, we've all had the 'blues' at one time or another. Probably my favourite songs in this album were 'The Shadow Proves the Sunshine' and 'The Fatal Wound'. The lyrics reached out to me as I could relate to it in my life. The weakest song for me was 'Politicians', only cause we don't need another song about politicians.

If you're a Switchfoot fan, you will enjoy and take alot our of this album, if you enjoy soft rock, and want to hear a switchfoot that has shed its christian label, you will be pleasantly surprised. The band has evolved into a well drilled listening experience. A album with great sounding songs, good song writing and a lead singer that has improved big time will make any listener play this album over and over. As I have been doing.

An improving record for an improving band........2006-08-11

As Switchfoot submits their first albumn after hitting it big with Beautiful Letdown, it's nice to see the change. Jon Foreman's songwriting is getting stronger, and now that they have shed their label (both literally and figuratively) as a Christian group, their next albumn is probably going to be still more different. But Nothing is Sound is better then Beautiful Letdown, with possibly only one bad song in, "Golden". Unfortunately they are only decent, they sound like a toned down version of U2, except Switchfoot does not come off feeling quite as genuine.

I would have liked this more when I was 16.......2007-06-28

Let me start by saying that I am a big fan of experimental music of all kinds. I'm always ready and willing to dive into something which is unlike anything I've heard before. I'm also no stranger to Genesis P. Orridge's work, having heard all of Throbbing Gristle's albums, many Psychic TV albums, and having enjoyed his work with Pigface.

TG is a mixed bag for me. I appreciate the dynamic of the group and the balls it took to make and stand by the music when they did... but now it just seems trite. Only very occasionally did they manage to break through the gimmick of banging on things to make noise and create a piece of "musick" that affected me on anything more than a basic visceral level.

What I've heard of Psychic TV affects me the same way, only instead of making noise, they are writing the most obnoxiously meaningless imitations of pop songs imaginable. Whenever I'm reminded of them, I always wonder why so many people who are into underground type experimental music enjoy PTV so much. The only thing I can figure is that it's the corny pseudo-religious aspects of their philosophies. Whatever the case may be, it usually ends up sounding much like everything I've always hated about popular music, but done badly. The only exception is their album Trip/Reset, which I do still listen to on occasion. I really can't tell you why I enjoy that album and not the rest, but I think it has something to do with the consistency of mood throughout it. It's very mellow, and aptly named.

I bought this album anyway. I got it because of the quick sound samples I heard on Amazon. It sounded different from the things I hate about PTV, but some of it also reminded me of the things I liked about Trip/Reset. I thought it might be a new direction for the group.

Well.. it is a new direction for them. But unfortunately, hearing the songs in full turned out to be a tedious experience. The albums opener sounds like a dumbed down Johnny Rotten/PIL imitation. The second song was entirely forgettable. The third song sounded like a different version of the first. Maximum Swing, my favorite song off the album, starts out a little bit interesting, but quickly degenerates into an unbearably repetitive waste of bytes. The next two songs have a similar vibe as some of the tracks I liked off of Trip/Reset, but holy crap.. they just drone on and on with no point whatsoever. The rest of the album is entirely throwaway. Hookah Chalice and Just Because sound like retreads of tracks 1 and 5, and BB sounds like The Cult with an even more annoying and whiny singer. The last song is simply a joke. Sitar samples with stilted vocal drones. The song is 7 minutes long, but it sounds like it took less than a minute to "write".

Bottom line:

Most of these songs have some sort of potential, but they have no business being as long as they are, and Genesis sounds younger and more immature as he gets older.

On the other hand, this might be the "punkest" album I've heard in years. I guess I just grew out of the "punk" thing a long time ago.

If they would start focusing on actually writing music and stop trying so hard (and failing so hard) to be scary or edgy, they might be onto something. As it stands now, they are simply laughable to me.

wonders never cease! First I'll say that this is a cyber glam record, only it's very analogue, with a Ziggy Star Dust 2007 sound. I wouldn't have guessed a sound like this, a sound that I associate as an old rock sound, could sound so fresh, so right so now, i am of the avante guard variety when it comes to music, but some how this works! on glam pop rock estetics as well as pagan occultic modes of expression and also on the poetic museing level, there is no industrial sound here but definately a dose of psychedelic. I might also add that this is a great summer time record.

This is a dynamic return!.......2007-06-12

This new incarnation of Psychic TV, or PTV3, sounds great. Gen's new band sounds powerful, and their grooves can make your body move without conceding to rock stereotypes. This album sacrifices none of PTV's experimental side, or their songwriting side. On most of their albums, you have some experimental songs, and some songs that are more in the classic style of songwriting. On this album, it's experimental pop songs or poppy experimental songs all the way through (and I mean pop like early Pink Floyd or The Stones, not in a demeaning way). The way the band rocks and grooves draws one in, while the structures and textures sound fresh, new, and challenging.
I love all of their albums, and every phase of their evolution, but I think this may be their best. If you haven't listened to PTV lately, you're in for a pleasant surprise. If you haven't heard them at all, this is a great place to start.

A musical treasure-box.......2006-09-10

Both the music and this actual product are masterpieces. John Dowland's collected works here - covering 12 compact discs - exhibit the depth and power of this composer, a composer who many now regard as suffering from clinical depression. I doubt that the issue of the diagnosis of Dowland's depression can ever be settled, however, it is certainly obvious from his music, so completely on display here, that he was a man with very dark depths and corners in his mind. Dowland's various manifestations and "takes" on his own tune, "Flow my tears"/"Lachrimae" are here. This tune has haunted me ever since I first heard it when I was a child. It seems to sum up Dowland's feelings - at least Dowland seems to have thought so.

The First, Second, Third and Fourth Bookes of Songes, A Musicall Banquet, the keyboard transcriptions, all the lute music, consort music are here and virtually everything else written or supposedly written by John Dowland. Anthony Rooley and The Consort of Musicke perform this music with style and feeling throughout. This 12 CD set is something of a monument to the ensemble - I only wish they'd finished their collection of Monteverdi madrigals, which was equally good (La Venexiana are currently doing a magnificent job of recording all Monteverdi's books of madrigals for the GLOSSA label).

This is an expensive set, however, you will probably never need to buy another John Dowland CD again after buying and listening to this collection.

I bought this CD set on a mild Summer evening of 1998 and listened to it while sitting in my sun room - which a glorious orange sunset in progress, and a glass of wine. It brought back so many memories.

a beautiful journey into melancholy.......2001-06-15

I'm amazed at how many people tend to associate John Dowland's music with a tragic sense of drama. While no doubt this is art highly based on sadness, the "tragic" sense of it is more a legacy from the Romantic period. During the Renaissance, however, sadness was undestood as a very aesthetic way of approaching life. That is also the reason why Shakespeare's tragedies appear more sophisticated than his comedies.

Dowland, a contemporary of Shakespeare, discovered that meditating on a sad theme is, at the same time, a way of discovering a special beauty that we tend to avoid (maybe because of the "tragic" heritage of the Romantics). So, in the end, meditating on sadness is an uplifting experience! This box set is a journey into melancholy that includes songs, chamber music, pieces for lute, some rare sacred music and -as a highlight- Dowland's beautiful collection of seven pieces for viola which he called "Lachrimae" (Tears).

Nothing is unique.......2007-03-09

I was jacked to hear their new disk after the masterpiece, The Beautiful Letdown, and was abruptly kicked in the nards upon hearing Nothing is Sound. The hopeful melancholy that worked so well on the prior album is just missing here. It's too samey. It sounds like every other pop goes distorted. Lyrically, I can't believe Mr. Foreman even thinks this comes close to The Beautiful Letdown. Therefore, obviously, go buy The Beautiful Letdown-you won't be dissappointed.

Switchfoot does it again.......2006-09-03

With the addition of a fifth band member, Switchfoot's music has evolved. The fuller sound is especially evident in the hard-rocking opening track, "Lonely Nation."

There's little reason to talk about "Stars" or "We are one tonight" since most everyone has heard them already, so let me focus your attention instead to two other gems from "Nothing is Sound."

"The Shadow Proves the Sunshine" is probably the best mellow song on the album, with searing vocals and heartfelt lyrics. If there is ever a best of Swtichfoot album it will not be complete without this song.

"Easier than love" might be the best song from this release. The song has a gritty, in-your-face type of sound that reminds me a little of "Ammunition" from "The Beautiful Letdown" album. The lyrics describe how sex is trivialized by the mass media. Definately not a theme I'm used to hearing from established rock bands.

As much as I like this album, I have to say it doesn't match "New Way to be Human" and even falls short of "The Beautiful Letdown." There are a few tracks in the middle that are just Ho-hum like "Politicians" and "The Setting Sun." To me those songs are tired and not particularly catching.

Still, everything Switchfoot has done has been impressive and this is no different. Those who already love the band will find a few more gems to add to the already long list of "favorite" Switchfoot tunes. Those who've never heard the band before will discover one of the greatest contemporary rock bands and hopefully check out some of their earlier work, too.

Why did it take so long for everyone to jump on the bandwagon and love these guys? Oh yeah, that small issue of the whole "christian rock" stigma that keeps average folk from buying it lest they be offended. Now all of a sudden because God is not explicitly mentioned people think they're pretty good, which is fine, because Switchfoot has achieved musical greatness with this new album. I have been a fan of theirs ever since the obscure "Legend of Chin" that only hard core christian alternative listeners knew about but that was easily their best album, until now. The Beautiful Letdown was great and all, but the title became very ironic for me as i think it is their worst CD by far. The music was boring, the lyrics uninspired "spiritual" drivel set to not offend and appeal to the masses which is ok. It was still better than many pop records but the singles everyone loved("Dare You to Move", taken from an earlier album, "Meant to Live") i thought sounded too manufactured and Jon was straining his voice. i'm glad people know about this band because of that record but it was kinda a big screw you to longtime fans and not very representative of their more rock driven previous CDs. Where were the "New Way To Be Human"s, the "Sooner or Later"s, the "Life and Love and Why"s? Most of this band's best songs are on their first two records and while there are similarities among them all they have had an ever evolving sound. Now, with "Nothing is Sound", Switchfoot has once again given a love letter to it's long time fans and new recruits at once. Here for the first time since Jimmy Eat World's self titled effort back in 1999 is a CD i have not taken out of my player since i purchased it and i love every single track. The music itself is inspired, complex, and well orchestrated. The lyrics are profound, interesting, inspiring, and catchy all at once. Mr. Foreman has come far as a songwriter; indeed, i didn't think he had something This great up his sleeve. Every song is different from the next while only adding to the whole experience exponentially. Track 4 is the best slower song they have written since "Sooner or Later" and the guitars through the length of this effort are not only loud but well played. I highly recommend this CD to anyone who loves good rock and if the Gospel offends you you should have no problems with it as long as you don't read too far into the lyrics. But i hope you do. If you like this one check out their highly underrated(and relatively unknown) "Legend of Chin". The vocals are not quite as crisp but that's why i like it and it had a very nice garage band sound to it that dissappeared later on. Overall though "Nothing is Sound ekes it out with more mature songwriting craft.
