Very good first effort from a band with a lot of potential.......2005-08-27
While a little less consistent than their new release, Danger Danger Silent Stranger (which, as of this review, is not carried by Amazon), Build Me a Reason shows that this three peice knows how to put together effective songs based on a myriad of inspirations.
I would reccomend the skeptical listen to Danger Danger Silent Stranger (currently available at thier website, www.itsthereturn.com) and if you like what you hear, pick this one up as well.
The best ever.......2003-12-27
This album is an all around wonderful one. Every song is good and can pick you up and chill you out all at the same time. Every person I've had listen loves the cd. We went and saw them live as well as met them in person and they sounded outstanding no matter whether live or on cd. The beats move you and the words make you love it even more. An outrageous cd!!!
cd will suffice when you can't see them live.......2003-12-16
Once I pop this disc into my car I find it extrememly hard to take it out. I love this album for it's awesome sound, a sound that I cannot quite find the right words to describe, to categorize. But here's an attempt - perfect for long car rides, best experienced at high volumes, bobbing your head while singing along at the top of your lungs- but not too loud as to drown out the soothing voice of Derek Jennings, lead singer. The Warning, Broken Record and Sleepers make me daydream of cruising with the top down just having a feel good day. For that is the mood that becomes instilled within me whenever I listen to this talented trio play their music. Be ready for something different when you expose yourself to this treat from the boys that hail from Ventura County. From fast paced songs such as Aberdean that make you want to jump around and be merry to the slower Almost Midnight with a little diddy in the middle called Ambition, this is an album to enjoy over and over again until their next live show...

Yeah I like it.......2005-02-13
Build Me a Reason is a good blend of ska/rock. They've put a positive light on the concept of "emo" music in this album. Yes, the lyrics are "emo" (more of an "I'm fed up" kind of emo), but the music complements them well with its melodies, dynamic songs, and cohesive instrumental work. This is definitely an uplifting album that makes for a good listen.
