Having remixed tracks for bands as varied as Korn, the Beastie Boys, and Pitchshifter, Brooklyn's DeeJay Punk-Roc drop-kicks club music into the new millennium on his debut, ChickenEye. Drawing from old-school beats and hip-hop style, ChickenEye ignites an explosion of diverse textures where the big beats come straight from the heart. What stands out here is Punk-Roc's playfully warped sense of humor. The tantrum of a spoiled child looping through "I Hate Everybody" gets layered between James Brown sound bites and dialogue from '60s youth-culture films. The staccato dance groove of "All You Ladies" has the commercial viability of Daft Punk's "Around the World." "No Meaning" mixes scratching with sampled jazz-lounge piano, producing something like Grandmaster Flash meets Combustible Edison, and "Far Out" announces "hardcore beat-box action" over a frenetic urban rap infused with electronic dance beats. DeeJay Punk-Roc clearly had a great time making ChickenEye, and the proof is in the playing. --Gail Worley

This is the first electro-dance disk I've heard that I almost kept. That's almost because this guy is really good, but I will never play it again because I don't go to raves all night doing ecstasy and telling everybody how much I love them.

Awesome! "I hate everybody" is a great song, and so is "No meaning" I like all the tracks on this CD! If you like Electronic music, then I recommend this CD!

Straight outta Brooklyn (not Brighton) comes a ball of fire. If you like big beat and want something to chew on try chicken eye. Its fat, meaty and high in protiens and carbohydrates. Extra bonus: grandma's recepies for chicken eye pie and saucy beats.

After receiving a copy of this CD from a friend in Japan, I listened to it over and over and came to the conclusion that DeeJay Punk-Roc is some form of god. His music has such a unique style to it that it makes me wonder why there have been no mimics trying to imitate him. The way he mixes samples, jazz and every other kind of music you can think of is unbelievable. Definately an album for those who like the big-beat genre.
