i recently uploaded quite a bit of my old cd's from the 90's to my ipod. in doing so, i rediscovered drizabone. this cd today more than ten years later still is as mazing as it was when i first discovered drizabone. the production, song writing, and vocals are absolutely superb. one criticism though, whatever happened to the follow up album? i have searched high and low all over the world for it. i will never forget seeing them perform live in southport with the promise of a new single in spring 1997.

One of the best kept secrets of the British neo-soul scene must have been this combo, whose sole 1994 album was simply incredible. I just love it as much today as I did then. Great playing (real instruments is what really turns me on in acid-jazz and similar kinds of music), catchy danceable songs and a fantastic singer to top it all, who could ask for more?

If you like Incognito, Lisa Stansfield, and the likes, you can buy this with confidence, you won't be disappointed!

If you're a fan of classic 90's UK Soul like Lisa Stansfield and Soul II Soul, it would be a crime not to own this CD. Drizabone's production is always classy, tasteful and understated. This album contains 3 tracks that are just absolutely heavenly - "Real Love", "Brightest Star" and "Don't U Want Me". The melodies are uplifting and beautiful, and vocalist Kimberly's voice is silky smooth and a pleasure to the senses. If you're a true collector, you will also need to do a little digging and find the singles for "Real Love" and "Brightest Star" containing remixes by the likes of Masters At Work and David Morales, who actually manage to outdo the already flawless album versions.

This is a great soul funk album. If you like band like Brand new heavies, incognito and other london soul band you will love this CD.

I live outside of the US so I got this CD at regular price. The additional features (the fact that it's an enhanced CD, with videos, a karaoke option, and entrance to the official Offspring fan club) mentioned by a previous reviewer are, as far as I've heard, the same as the features of the regular CD. The only difference between the import and the regular one is the song "Huck It" which is a very good song, it all depends on whether you're willing to pay extra for just one additional song. I wouldn't.

Other Black / Death Metal bands from the early eighties already had a tribute. And now Bathory is as well rewarded by this great production.

Bathory created a whole scene, now inspired by it's raw and evil music. The bands on this tribute reminds us it well. I think any Black Metal fan should be aware of Bathory's contribution to metal.

I was not in Black Metal when these albums came out. But now, as a Black Metal fan and musician, I feel Bathory is something you must have in your collection because this is the root of Black Metal. And roots are what makes you stand still and not fall.

At last, and to leave a word on the CD itself, I was pleased to hear these songs with a new sound and a good production. The performers are so good (Emperor, Marduk, Dark Funeral, Satyricon...) and the songs are among Bathory's best.

A must have for any Bathory fan!

When I first got this CD I was a little skeptical of the bands on here trying to master a Bathory song, but to my surprise these bands earned the title to be called "black-metal" although Dark Funeral made their two covers sound exactley the same and Nefilhem's sounds like they took a tape of the song and did kareoke.But all is not lost, Marduk pulls off an amazing cover of "In Conspiracy with Satan"...hell it sounds better than the original!Emperor lived up to their name in "Fine day to Die", Lord Belial took the crappy riffs AND vocals on "Sacrifice" and turned it into a wirlpool of ear crunching and violent vocals.Satyricon picked the eaisest song "Born for Burning" and did a fantastic job with it.So really, if you are a Bathory fan pick this cd up and see why Bathory IS black metal

    This is amazing. The songs on this have DEPTH. And the music is AMAZING, it's sort of gothic, it is unique, the girls voice is AMAZING, it touches my soul. It beats all the stupid pop-bands (Westlife for example) by far. So just go out and buy it (if you can find it anywere!)
