"Heavily inspired by '60s rock and pop, her sweet, honeyed voice glides over the breezy instrumentation of The Fleeting Skies."
Product Description
The Fleeting Skies is a testament to an artist who is constantly willing to absorb new thoughts and translate them into her own work. Samara Lubelski is what some would call a lifer: a person who is willing to keep on making music, honing her craft because she can't conceive of not doing it. Take The Fleeting Skies as a kind of travel guide through her aural perambulations over two continents and with the help of a number of her friends. Lubelski is a native New Yorker who grew up in the haze of artist-infested Soho. Over the years, she has compiled an impressive resume that covers myriad genres: the avant/psych/folk outfit Hall Of Fame, bohemian German musos Metabolismus, indie rock interpretations with The Sonora Pine and off-world with Jackie-O Motherfucker, to name just a few. Joining her are two of her old chums from the Tower Recordings (PG Six and Tim Barnes) as well as guitar aficionado Marc Moore, who has had his hand in Cat Power, Lynnfield Pioneers and various other cookie jars. With all of her experience and skill, Lubelski has learned how to create atmospheres of depth within her pieces. You will be looking forward to the return of The Fleeting Skies as it settles into your memory.
