Ah yes. This takes me back, drives down to London to the Klubfoot in the famed district of Hammersmith. Even the Stingrays coming to my hometown of Colchester and spending the night on my floor. Bal launching himself from high atop a P.A stack. This folks is raw energy and the Stingrays emerged from the huge England psychobilly scene as something a little different. Thoughtfull well composed lyrics accompanied by distorted fuzz guitars,Alecs often tribal drum rhymms and some wild slamming and sometimes slapping bass. If you want a taste of how it felt to grow up in London in the 80s and be in your early 20s. BUY this album! Its a gem.

The Sting-Rays emerged when Rockabilly revival was on top. These guys love garage music as well as rockabilly, so their unique brand of punk attitude, garage sound and rockabilly melodism made them one of the most interesting combos on London scene in the early 1980's.
This well designed CD, completed with interesting story, has 26 songs. Nearly all of them are written by vocalist Alec Palao. His pronounce should be recognized everywhere.
The tracks included the obscure EP recorded by Bananamen (?) as well as some previously unreleased tracks (like From The Kitchen Sink!). However my favorites are still June Rhyme and Don't Break Down EP's. That's why I love this band. I could imagine 20 tracks on this CD, because 26 tracks is too many to listen at once. However, Big Beat Records did a great job, sound is exellent, so 5!
