The third full length album from Eyeball Records' most prolific songwriters Sleep Station. In the early 1970's Nasa sent two astronauts to assist an already orbiting staff of astronauts in the repair of an experimental new space station. What they discover upon their arrival is a horrific example of scientific negligence and they are abandoned by ground control for their protest and left to die. This record delicately explains their entire story: the bloodshed during the arduous training process, the horrors they witness, and the heartbreaking departure in which one of them gets to return home...and the other must stay behind and die a slow death in the lonesome expanse. Nearly six months of grueling production brought this story to life in the breathtakingly beautiful Sleep Station format.

I usually don't do reviews, but I couldn't let this one pass under the radar. This is a really beautiful album about an astronaut stranded in space. It's sad, heart-wrenching, and lovely. I can't believe more people don't know about this album. Highly recommended indie pop-rock!

I am proud to say I own all three Sleep Station CDs and have never taken them out of my 6 disc player. Each album by Sleep Station tells a story and weaves back and forth from sad to beautiful to heart wrenching. As a fan of Pink Floyd, Sun Kil Moon, Mojave 3, American Analog Set and many others I am blessed to have come across this band quite by accident. I bought 'After the War' at a clearance bin at Half-Priced Book Store for $1.00. As soon as I listened to it I went out and bought the other 2 albums. I have spread the word to friends and family but as with most of my music tastes they were not interested in listening to it. What a shame, but hey...what can you do? Thank you Sleep Station for giving me 3 of my favorite albums in a collection of over 7,000 CDs!

Basically, this is a collection of songs that depicts the tale fo two astronauts left to themselves to die in Space sometime in the Early 1970's. I've been trying to find the authenticity of this story, but have failed. However, whether true or false, it's a great band, a great tale, a really gets you thinking.
Tear jerker for "weak" people like me. XD

you've got to check out this band - it's really too bad that noone seems to know who they are. their songs are incredible, great instrumentation, and a storyline to boot. the songs work well if you've followed the story or not, though... just give them a listen, please.
