About the Artist
Lauri moved from New York to Los Angeles in 1994 and met the musicians who would later help her define her unique style and create her debut album. Produced by keyboard player Jebin Bruni (Liz Phair, Fiona Apple) 'How to Disappear' also features Ric Menck (Velvet Crush, Matthew Sweet) on drums, Barry Newton on bass and Michael Armes on guitar. The songs 'Someone Else's Hands' and 'Adam One Afternoon' were recently featured on the television show Felicity.

Product Description
'How to Disappear' is the debut effort from Lauri Kranz. It is an intimate album with moments both fragile (Not Another Girl) and vitriolic (Lucky One), mixing narcotic vocals withlayers of electric guitars, vintage keyboards, upright bass and drums - all together to create a sound which is both unique and comfortable, languid and edgy. All of these elements are showcased in the first single, 'Adam One Afternoon'.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Damn this is good.......2000-08-30

Haven't listened to anything else for days ... I've been pressing it on my friends, we all agree - this record is a beautiful thing.

5 out of 5 stars Honest.......2000-05-31

The most special thing about this record is not the beautiful voice, which is totally hypnotic, but the honesty in the lyrics. It's very rare to find music this good, this open, but that doesn't sound like a completely self indulgant therapy session. A great new talent.
