This CD continues to amaze me. It has been on my main playlist for way over a year now and I love it. He sounds kinda like Stevie Ray meets Clapton meets Bryan Adams if you can dig that. I am involved in a small town Alabama music festival and we have had Joe play for two consecutive years!! He does not disappoint. His timing, his sound, and his ability to take the audience where he wants them to go is phenomenal.
I only give 5 stars to discs that I like EVERY SONG on (Purple Rain, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Journeyman) and it is amazing, but I mean it--FIVE STARS, BABY, YEAH!!!!

I am in awe of the talent coming out of this young man.There is a ritual that goes along with getting a new c.d. You get it and listen to it, analyze it, figure out what your favorite song is going to be,then, what is the weakest song ( the one you skip over )Well, I can't pick a favorite, every song that came on I said, " this is it... this is my favorite". Then the next track plays and that's my favorite.This happened 12 times.. with every track on the c.d.(I still haven't found a weakest track.) I'm a big fan of Blues, and Classic Rock , Jazz and Country and this has nuances of all of the best in all those genres.It's hard to believe that such soulful and heartfelt songs can come out of somebody who is so young. This is a c.d. well worth having. Joe is sure to go far, I'm glad I found him early in his career. It will be interesting to see where his musical growth takes him... and us.I'm looking foward to it.

Today's world of music is filled with fast food. Prepared, over-processed, and loaded with fillers and additives. You know when reading the label how nothing seems natural in the entire product, sometimes one has to look at a natural alternative to all the crap to purge their system. Musically, Joe Stark is all natural.

Today's masses are told what to listen to by music channels and radio, they're all in the marketing game to make money, not music. Marketing, where bands are put together to bow to words like brand image and target markets. Like leaves that fall from a tree and die every season, these products, fade away with no measurable dent in the minds of people who know what good music really is. The roots of the tree are what stand the test of time and are what outlasts those leaves. Joe Stark is among these roots.

Music evolves every few of years but always come back to its roots. Rock and blues are two of the purest forms of music. Joe Stark's self-titled CD album hits this ideology home with a Louisville slugger. From track to track Joe Stark builds a house with a super solid foundation of real music. Highlights include "Testify", reminisce of solid and ripping guitar of Southern Rock, and radio-ready hits such as "Oh So Sad" and "As if". There are many well-written tight and punchy songs, most importantly; IT'S MUSIC YOU CAN RELATE TO.

This CD is for any one who appreciates real music. Whether you are a musician or one of these people from the brain-washed masses (you know who you are). You will come away from this listen with a better appreciation of a talented musician. Years down the line when your other junk food music has rotted with time, this one will preserve. Joe Stark is on tour this summer opening 40 dates with Bad Company, Styx and Billy Squier.
