About the Artist
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away … a band was born for the sole purpose for entertaining guests at a 50th birthday party for one of their dads. This once-in-a-lifetime event was called AFS2k, and the guests were excited. Maybe the excitement was aimed at the 300lb Elvis there to sing and dance for them. The band was amped - this was their time to shine! No one could deny the power of old-school music like Elvis and Otis Redding. The minidisc was set to record. They stepped up to the microphone and the rest is history.

Thankfully, the minidisc of that night has long since disappeared, possibly going down in the annals of music as one of the worst recorded performances in the history of music. Their dreams of being one of the greatest 50s/60s cover bands were now gone forever. They had to rethink their purpose in life. Not to be discouraged, the band changed direction, following their hearts. They decided to pursue worship. The guys had been leading worship at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio for their youth group, and became determined to focus on leading others to the throne of Christ. Thus, the Blue Water Band was formed for the sole purpose of worshiping an audience of One.Through this great opportunity we have been influenced by a great number of godly men and women who encouraged us along the way. We have grown more in the last two years ministering at Fuge than we ever thought possible. We'll be back with Fuge at Mississippi College this year, and we look forward to the opportunity of worshiping with a bunch of friends, both old and new. Our Father has blessed us in so many ways, and we give thanks only to Him!

It's about time for Bree to release a new album. This isn't really it, but it will hold the fans over until the new material is available.

Most of the songs on this album are just acoustic versions of those off the two main albums. But we do get one new original, Waving Goodbye, which is a solid song, if not quite as good as the other material. The real treat on here though is the cover of Bob Dylan's Don't Think Twice, It's All Right, which really came out beautiful. It's not a very long cd, which is disappointing because by the time it ends you really want to hear more, but it's also pretty cheap so it's worth the price. With Bree's limited touring radius, it's as close as a lot of people will get to a live show for now, so pick up this cd and see why it's so important to catch a show when you have the chance.

It’s like picking up a stone, turning it over in your hands, and seeing different sides depending on the light. There’s everything in there from metal to classical music, rap to poetry, electonica to folk, old style rock to the most modern and extreme sounds. But underlying all this are great and interesting songs, songs with the urgency, light and shadow of the most intense contemporary rock, but each one written with a sophisticated harmonic palatte that could only come from truly intelligent musical thinking. In other words, the stuff rocks, and sounds cool, and is always fresh both musically and lyrically. This music caters to no trend -- it belongs to itself, which will make it enduring. There’s another aspect to this group as well, something that’s not seen often enough these days: this band plays GREAT -- and their music is sometimes complicated, always intense, and challenging. They back it up with some pretty serious chops. They play with passion and depth reminiscent of some of the classic bands we all love so well.     This CD is a document of a concert, primarily by the Art Ensemble of Chicago, but featuring a few cuts by Lester Bowie's Brass Fantasy, and a few cuts of the combined Brass Fantasy and Art Ensemble playing together. (Of course, the late Mr. Bowie was one of the founding members of the Art Ensemble and known as their trumpeter and snappiest dresser long before he formed Brass Fantasy, so it makes sense to think of this as "primarily" an Art Ensemble release). The material is wonderful, playful, and varied, with the highest point probably being a truly New-Orleansy workout by the combined bands on "A Jackson in your House," a really goofy song from one of AECO's early BYGs. There are also some freeish moments, but Brass Fantasy were more about PoMo pastiche and twisted traditionalism than improvisation, so they tend to transform things a bit, bringing Jarman and Mitchell and Favors and Moye "in" from the "outside"... Fans know that one of the most magical things about Lester Bowie's Brass Fantasy was their ability to transform a pop song you'd never be caught dead listening to into something really magical and acceptable as music. On this disk, the unexpected bit of cultural salvage is Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Music of the Night." It's really wonderful, even if you hate Webber. This is a pleasant and relatively accessible release by both bands. It has nowhere near the spiritual beauty or power that AECO show on NICE GUYS or FANFARE FOR THE WARRIORS, but it's still nice to have around.

            This is my personal favorite of the pioneering Sun Ra Arkestra's late live recordings. This band could falt out swing, no matter how far into outer space Ra's compositions ventured. If you don't have any Arkestra recordings, this is a good one to start with.

              I am not usually very impressed with live albums, but I can't seem to get enough Julianne Regan -- and was not disappointed when I bought this.
              As good (but not as intimate) as Fairy Vol. I, I mourn the fact that AAE doesn't have a strong enough following in the States to justify a tour -- I may never see them live. This album is professional, yet different enough from the studio versions of these songs.
              "December" is more haunting than the original, "Lady Moonlight" brings tears to my eyes the first time I listened to it. The others are fantastic.
              As far as live albums go -- this is one of the best I've heard.
              Now, all AAE has to do is admit that they are still viable and release a new studio album...
              (And re-release the poorly reviewed "Ultraviolet" for those of us who missed it the first time)
