About the Artist
The Savage Juliets music is both melody and lyric driven. Their title song "Longshot" was a second place winner in the 2003 International Songwriting Contest lyrics only category. Writers/composers Kate Dwyer and Scott Johnson create a timeless sound both classic and unique, blending rock with alt. country using interesting time changes, arrangements, evocative lyrics and with beautiful, mellifluous vocals . Written up in Time Out NY as a band to watch.

Product Description
Recorded live in one day in one room, its lo-fi sound is a blend of alt. country and rock reminiscent of bands like Mazzy Star or Cowboy Junkies. The songs on this cd were written by Kate Dwyer (lyrics and melody) and Scott Johnson (music) over a 6 month period and recorded after their first live performance at the Cutting Room in NYC. The title song "Longshot" has received much acclaim and won 2nd place in the ISC 2003. The songs on this cd are a collection of stories, reflections, and experiences most can relate to. Selected and put in an order to keep the feel of a story it ends with a song entitled "Thirty Years" which is solely guitar and vocals. It leaves the listener with a haunting feeling and to contemplate the idea of lasting love especially in the world we live in, possibly wanting for times gone by. There is a dreamy, simple, and atmospheric quality that makes it a great road trip cd, with enough upbeat moments to balance out the quiet and melancholy! . The band is currently recording new material with drummer Chad Pearson who played on "Longshot" and bassist Michael Podniesinski who joined just after the recording. Today I was channel surfing when I ran across a movie that was going off. The closing music was kinda funky so I continued reading the credits to see what song was playing.
I decided to come to CDNOW to check out some samples and read reviews.

THANK GOD I DID!!!!!!!!

Not a single good review. To add insult to injury, all of the snippets sound like songs that didn't make the artists' original CD.

If this isn't bad enough, the song at the end of the movie is not even on the CD. I don't how the rest of you feel but when I hear some pretty decent closing music, I at least expect to see it on the soundtrack. That 'one' song probably would have made me think twice about buying it.

Too bad I can't hear the rest of the snippets. They might be better.
