      It's been a while since Celine has last released an official studio album full of new material. Some regard this release as Celine's follow up to her previous studio album "Let's Talk About Love" in 1997. But between 1997 and 2002, Celine has managed three other albums in between, a Christmas album landed in 1998 entitled "These Are Special Time", a best of collection in 1999 entitled "All The Way ... A Decade Of Songs" and then in 2000 came another so-called best of collection aptly titled "The Collector's Series ... Volume One" which is just another collection of previous material from Celine. But yes, this album is for real, all new material, all new Celine. Gone are the gut wrenching vocals as seen in the past. In fact, this album seems a little light hearted and may even be seen as immature if lined up along with previous Celine albums. A disc with 17 tracks is bound to have fillers no doubt and thank god that there ain't many of them here. Most are brilliant and easy to listen to. Personally, I'd prefer the album with the following tracks.

      Without the fillers, it makes this album seem like a greatest hits because everyone of them is good. Within the 17 tracks, there are two covers, "At Last" and "Nature Boy". "At Last" is good and very romantic but unfortunately, I couldn't say the same for "Nature Boy" therefore it's best avoided. Then there's the two versions of "A New Day Has Come", the version that is serviced on the radio is the Ric Wake Remix of the song which turns this initial ballad into a song of motivation and hope. For the haunting ballad version, it lands in at track 15 on the disc lasting for well over 5 minutes. Then there's the upbeat and positive tracks in the form of "I'm Alive", "Right In Front Of You" (which includes some rather amazing vocal arrangements at the beginning of the song), "Sorry For Love" (which is the closest Celine has even been to recording a dancefloor smash without being remixed) and "When The Wrong Ones Love You Right". The ballads are here but not as overdone as Celine's past power ballads. "Goodbye" is a sweet little ballad about death and departure of a mother and missing a mother's love. "Prayer" which is also found on the CD single to "A New Day Has Come" is one to listen out for with sweet background vocals from a children choir. "Aun Existe Amor" thought sung in French, and I haven't got a clue what Celine is on about, you can really feel the passion in her voice as she sings the words. "Have You Ever Been In Love" is another highlight and is the first ballad on the album.

      All in all, 11 good tracks out of 17 really ain't that bad at all. In fact, I seriously believe the album could have done without the other six tracks. The is the Australian version of the album therefore the bonus track "Superlove" snuggles in just before "Sorry For Love". It's another positive song about the strength of a relationship bringing the Australian tracklisting to a total of 17 tracks but you're not missing out on much.

      "A New Day Has Come" is a release that is well worth the wait and slightly different from what fans would anticipate.

      This CD is absolutely amazing. I guarantee you won't want to skip a single track on the whole album. I have been one of Céline's biggest fans for over 6 years and this may be her best album ever. The bonus track on the import version (Superlove)is a great up-tempo song and I think that if you are a Celine fan, there should be no reason for you to pass this up!

      I must say that Celine is amazing and too many people make fun of her or say "Oh I hate her music." They evidently haven't listined to her newest work. Well, that said, I would recommend you don't buy this single because you already have two versions on the original CD and the Christian B version is really no different. I was sorely disappointed because I thought I was leaving the store with a dance remix (after I heard it in a dance club in San Diego).Not the case - I guess we'll have to wait for this.

      The song is great. No denying that, inspirational, captivating, vulnerable yet full of hope at the same time. There is one major problem with this single though. A rather tragic tracklisting. Please let me explain. Here is how is goes:
      1. A New Day Has Come (Ric Wake Radio Remix) 4.23 - Also featured on Celine's latest album of the same title, it sits pretty at track #5. This is the version of the song you hear on the radio. It's the inspirational uplifting poppy version.

      2. A New Day Has Come (Humberto Gattica Album Edit) 4.30 - Just an edit of the orginal album version which comes in at 5 minutes and 41 seconds. I strongly believe this edit is unnecessary and the single could have been well off with the whole album version on it instead of just an edit because the song is just not quite complete.

      3. Prayer (Album Version) - warning people, this song is not the collaboration with Andrea Bocelli. This is a new track also featured on Celine's latest release. It's an inspirational ballad which features sweet backing vocals from a choir of children.

      4. A New Day Has Come (Christian B Remix) 3.54 - This track is another that is deemed unnecessary. It's almost identical to the Ric Wake Radio Remix. What was this dude thinking? It's only missing a few beats and that's about it, and a tad shorter of course.

      So technically speaking, you are buying approximately 2 and a half songs. Track 4 is unnecessary, track 2 is incomplete because it's been edited down and you can tell that it is kind of missing an ending. But yeah, track 1 and 3 are well worth the money though. Check this out if you're hesitant about the album, if not, then I'd suggest you get the album instead because purchasing this single is just like a three track album sampler.

      After a little over 2 years of hiatus, Celine Dion is back for more. She comes back with a definite smash. Although, this single, released as a remix, by Ric Wake, the album version, is not as big a hit. The song released (remix), became a definite chart-topper and radio smash! This song should have a lot of meaning to Celine, but although, not written by her. This song has a very emotional message, about a birth of a child, and how the whole world changes for her. Here are the tracks:

      1. Ric Wake Radio Remix - Definitely shorter, and better than the original. It pops the song up, with a nice, steady beat, and changes the song into an entire different track. More poppy, not so dancy, but still very good. - 5 Stars : A+

      2. Humberto Gatica's Album Remix - Humberto Gatica, a producer on the "New Day" album, should have called this track, a little differently. The original album version is quite over 5 minutes in length, but somehow, Gatica managed to edit the track, to about 4:30 or close to it. It's good, to slow down to, but it's realy not for me. - 3 1/2 Stars : B-

      3. Prayer (Album Version) - A duet with Andrea Bocelli. Beautiful song, mostly everyone who is a listener of Celine's music, had to have heard this song. Andrea's vocals are great and Celine is very good. - 4 Stars : A

      4. Christina B. Remix - This is almost exact to the Ric Wake remix. I don't know, maybe it is, but it's a little different. It is still good, but Ric Wake's beats it. But, still good. - 4 Stars : A

      There are other remixes if interested, but not released on any single. Including, Mike Rizzo, and Richie Jones with Chris Panaghi remixes. Both very good, even better than the mixes featured here. Celine's new single, puts her in a brand-new spotlight, and she plans to stay there. Already a #1 album, she sure has come back, that is for sure....

      I bought a copy of the German edition single for this song (I think this is the same one as this) and it is sensational! The song is excellent! Extremely beautiful. She's done it again!

      I bought this cd single for the full 12" mix of the Victor Calderone remix for "Desert Rose". The American cd single didn't feature it so I bought the import. The tracks are as following:Desert Rose Radio Mix(3:54),Melodic Club Mix(9:20)and the Melodic Radio mix(4:44) plus Brand New Day (Murlyn Mix-5:01). The Victor Calderone mix fuses House music with Middle eastern type music very well. Was a top five club play track in 2000 and spent 9 weeks atop the Sales Dance Chart.Great song.

      Without question Victor Calderone's remix (The Melodic Club Mix) is one of his best remixes ever. The song keeps building with Arabic chants until the vocals begin. Buy the import because it has the 9 minute version of the Melodic Club Mix. The domestic (for some unknown reason) is cut down in length drastically. As for Sting's vocals - they're excellent as usual. Five stars for this import cd single!

      I can not say enough about this CD. Sting's voice is hauntingly beautiful in Desert Rose and uplifting and energetic in Brand New Day. The contrast that these two songs present flatter each other and make the CD a perfect choice for a candle dinner for two or road music for the highway. All in all a great buy and choice for anyone.

      Albums like this are the reason people go searching for B sides. Truly a crime these were not all added to Brand New Day, but once you own, they are your own secret treasure.

      Sweet and sweeping, the End of the Game is simply beautiful, and Windmills of Your Mind is smooth accompanient from the Thomas Crown Affair soundtrack. Both wonderful additions to your Sting library.

      If you enjoy this, I'd also highly recommend the You Still Touch Me - single by Sting as well and vice versa.

      This single contains probably the only Stingish-hit from the Brand New Day-album with the song of the same title. Great song, but:

      The greatest song on the Brand New Day-album would have been, if not edited, the beautiful extended version of End Of The Game, that luckily this cd-single contains, and because of that this is a single just as worth having as the album itself.

      Brand New Day missing this song takes away two stars in my album-rating, a real shame - and a rather incredible mistace by the Master, the Genious, the Godfather =)
