Hailing from Atlanta, The Hiss' debut, Panic Movement, packs the sonic punch of "Definitely Maybe"-era Oasis with the southern blues swagger of Kings of Leon and the raw aggression of the Datsuns. Having heard about the band from Owen Morris, Noel Gallagher personally handpicked the band to open for Oasis in Europe during the summer of 2003. Upon Panic Movement's August release in Europe the band quickly garnered huge press accolades from such publications as the NME and were tapped to join Jet on NME's "New Music Riot Tour". Now the band are poised to come home to our shores and give a jolt of dirty rock and roll back into the American music scene.

A DualDisc is a two-sided disc made up of a CD on one side and a DVD on the other, DualDisc's breakthrough technology allows one disc to have it all. A full album on the CD side. All sorts of special material on the DVD side, including the full album in a 5.1 Surround Sound, exclusive video content and lyrics. The UK Mag Nme Hailed the Hiss as One of the Top Ten Bands to Watch in 2003. England's Daily Telegraph Called the Hiss "The South's Most Promising Export Since the Blues". This is their Debut CD Produced by Owen Morris (Oasis, the Verve, Ash). L.a. This is the way new garage/indie rock sounds like. Or should sound like. The Hiss is a wonderful mix of The Von Bondies, Vue, Led Zeppelin and a tiny bit britpop. Sometimes raw and hard and sometimes soft and easy, but still rock and roll.

Best song is the epic adventure Ghost's Gold (6:27) but there's not a single bad song on this album. A great buy for every fan och real music.

My pick for the one band capable of restoring credibility to this otherwise beige world of radio blandness. Having waited for a true torch-bearer of the classic Manchester scene, what a suprise to find the answer come from Atlanta - GA.

Triumphant.......2005-10-01

Whoa, what a great album. If you haven't heard this album or seen these guys live, then you got some serious catching up to do. Good straight-ahead rock with great lyrics and imagery throughout. There are also some good sing-along choruses. To keep a little variety on the album there are two cool epic songs that still continue to haunt me to this day and there a few slower songs in the vein of Oasis. These change of paces don't take anything away from the album but help point out the talents of this promising band. A well put together album that should be heard by any music fan. I'm hungry for the next one. Roll The Bones.

The Hiss is a band from Atlanta. They got really big in the UK last year. They got lumped in with some rock revivalists types. They only difference for The Hiss is that they have more blues roots. They know how to get down. They know how to sex it up. "Clever Kicks" is a classic song. I can wake up in the morning to that rock action. They are a talented bunch.

Good cd, good buy, but if you have the opportunity to see them live, don't pass that up. We saw them open for The Electric Six or the Dirtbombs I don't remember which but they were incredible. Their style could be compared to a band like Jet only I like The Hiss alot better. Real generic lyrics but who cares.

Jump on the Bandwagon Now.......2004-05-09

These guys have toured with Jet, Oasis, and The White Stripes and they put on an awesome live show. Get this CD now before you're the last of your friends (and everyone else across the country)to have it. If you like good, solid rock 'n' roll (The Rolling Stones, The Strokes)then you'll love this band too. This album is so good from start to finish it will stay in your CD player for months!

Get it Before it's Gone.......2004-03-31

While I haven't heard the album yet, the first single "Clever Kicks" is going to spark BIG!! The Hiss remind me a lot of Jet in their sound and fury. Great song and can't wait to buy the album. The song samples have sold me. I just hope that I will be able to find the CD. Get Panic Movement now before they catch on and you can say that you knew about them before they were popular. I can honestly say that I bought Lifehouse's CD and Jet's CD right before their singles caught the publics attention. The Hiss will be another!!
