I heard about Sandrose from my cousin who is Swiss/French. She heard the band perform in France. She proceeded to tell me of the amazing jazz-progressive rock band that were not only great musicians but, somewhat unusual for the time, "around 1972", had an excellent female vocalist Rose Podwojny. Of course, the LP was very hard to find in the US... I ended up having to order it from Europe. It was rare even back then, at least in the US. I have always enjoyed their music... sadly to say, only one album ever came from them. I was so delighted to find it issued on CD. I find the music very beautiful even now in 2007. The guitarist Jean-Pierre Alarcen created some great sounds with the very limited equipment available to a guitarist back in those days. Not to forget the excellent keyboard player; Henri Garella, superb bassist; Christian Clairefond, and great drummer, Michel Jullien. If you are a progressive-rock fan, this is truly a must-have to add to your collection. You won't be disappointed with Sandrose's music. Put it in the player, turn out the lights, turn up the volume, and let their music take you to a very special place!
