This is what I think is rockabilly at its finest, as well as Matchbox at their best. I have all of their LPs & this has been an absolute favorite in my entire collection.

All are tight, uptempo, rockin' & catchy tunes. I waited years for this to be on CD and was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality (fantastic! gives the LP a new life) and an extra little few seconds on the title track is neat too. Don't even think about it - buy it now!

This album was released a few years after 'Riders in the sky' and a couple of years before they hit it big with 'Rockabilly Rebel'. This is Matchbox at their very best. All the tunes are very well done with great production.Tracks that really stand out are: 'Settin' the woods on fire' and 'Put the blame on me'. You can't help stompin' & singing along! Great stuff! Real well produced rockabilly with a slight country taste. I've been a Matchbox fan since the late 70's and this is the finest.

a good box set, good songs- good classic lyrics- there is plenty of great tunes on here for you to enjoy time and time again. i have had these songs at one time or another on diffrent albums. and to me everyone of these songs are his greatest hits. there however is a few that were left off here i think' one i can think of right now is first year blues. but ya know im happy with this boxset and im proud to own it. now if youre a new hank fan wich i believe everyone has heard of hank sr. but if you havent this box set would be good for you and a good way to let you hear some of his best work. and if youre already a hank sr, fan than this would be good to add to your hank sr, collection. you'll be happy with it. i am...
