THE MORE I PLAY IT, THE MORE I LIKE IT!! I HAVE SEEN THEM IN PERSON TWICE & KEEP WANTING TO GO BACK!! THEY DON'T BEGIN TO GET THE RECOGNITION THAT THEY DESERVE!!I LOVE THEIR MUSIC!!!DTTB is great in person!! I saw & heard them w/ a full band & they kept you rockin!! A truly great fusion of Jazz and Funk........2007-07-01
This is the new fantastic, great new album from the British contemporary Jazz Funk outfit.
"Supercharged" is the funkiest set to date.
Every track is a winner.
The title song is a full on Funk instrumental on which the horn section excel, as is the slower "Funkin' Around".
"Parkside Shuffle" is a mellower summer like groover (hints of Ramsey Lewis).
Hil St Soul adds her soulful voice to the Incognito like "Smile To Shine" wicked b-line!
Roy Ayers adds scat and vibes to the Jazz Funk stunner "Electric Vibes".
"Space Dust", "Make It Funky" and "Hip City" are fine instrumentals that fuse Jazz and Funk.
The horn and rhythm sections are cooking. Essential.
Prepare to have a great time !!!
This CD is "Jazzy"..........2007-06-27
...I didn't want to say it "Rocks". But it does.
Down to the Bone puts out EXCEPTIONAL CD's. This one is no different.
The song "Supercharged" has got some nice high energy output.
The cool sounding "Smile to Shine" with sharp vocals from Hil St Soul is very infectious!
"FUNKIN' Around" (Bolded to avoid a mis-reading mistake) has got some stong horn melody and definitely a "toe tapper".
"Shake it Up" featuring Corrina Greyson is somewhat of a dissapointment however. It sounded like more of a Pop song to me.
The subdued "Hip City" climaxes to a stong guitar crescendo and finishes off very cleanly.
"Space Dust" is typical funky Down to the Bone, and is reminiscent of many of their famous cuts.
"Make it Funky" has an element of hip-hop, and is a refreshing change of pace from some of the other songs on the CD.
If you like Down to the Bone, you will like the other tunes, but my fingers are getting tired from typing!
I higly recommend the entire album! (OK - just this last note: You GOTTA listen to Cosmic Fuzz! It's is so cool, it's COLD!)
(Oh yeah, one last comment: I own all the other DTTB CD's, and saw them live 3 times. If you like their CD's, don't disappoint yourselves. Keep the dream, and DON'T see them live. They're not as clean and sharp when they're on tour. They don't travel with a full band compliment, and the lead sax guy, "Shilts", likes to be "buzzed" and drink beer as he plays, I saw him have at least 4 Corona Extras. :-(
Turbo Edition.......2007-06-22
I am pleased with this release. As the CD title suggests they took their sound and supercharged it. The arragnements are a little stronger, the electric guitar a little louder and the funk is still alive and well. This is great music to put on when you are hanging out with friends.
Smoothjazz.com Review.......2007-06-20
With reckless, raw energy and rhythm hurling towards you at the speed of a slide trombone in the Tower of Power horn section, SUPERCHARGED is Smooth Jazz with a nitrous injection. This is DTTB's 7th release to date and by far the most irresistible. That's a big claim given the fact that this is the group that gave us "Long Way From Brooklyn" and "Electra Glide," two format staples. SUPERCHARGED burns rubber off the starting line with the title track and let me tell you, it never stops for gas. The guys added three additional horns to the already sizzling non-stop, sax-o-matic playing by Paul "Shilts" Wiemar. Founding member Stuart Wade produced and arranged the stellar SUPERCHARGED. He's managed to capture the very essence of funk and soul. Think Sly & the Family Stone, Average White Band, Booker T. & The MGs and the aforementioned T.O.P. Special guests include Hil St. Soul on the feel-good groove "Smile to Shine," Royer Ayres on the slick joint "Electric Vibes," and Corrina Greyson on the contagious "Shake It Up." Eleven tracks that say summer... even in the middle of winter. This is unabashed, pure, unadulterated, thick and gooey F.U.N.K. There are a lot of choices out there with regard to music these days. Down To The Bone's SUPERCHARGED just made the whole decision process much easier for you... CD it or download it, but load it and load it soon, `cuz summer's here and you're about to get funked. ~SANDY SHORE

Album Description
Floreando is the second CD release from Los Angeles-based Conjunto Jardín. Inspired by the group's 2001 trip to Tlacotalpan, Veracruz, Mexico, to participate in the annual son jarocho extravaganza Encuentro de Jaraneros, the new CD combines the rhythmic drive and virtuosic sparkle associated with the port city of Veracruz with the more rural, roots-oriented and percussion-flavored style typical of Mono Blanco, Son de Madera and Los Cojolites, Veracruz groups prominent in the current resurgence of jarocho music.
Bailable (danceable) is not a term often applied to son jarocho, even though the percussive footwork called zapateado is an integral part of the tradition. But from the first notes of the opening track"El Colás," a typically irreverent jarocho classic about a flirty guythere's an undeniable groove going on that's a little different from what you might expect, and substantially funkier. The upbeat, driving "El Torito" (The Little Bull) will satisfy fans of the group's first album, and its medley-mate "El Toro Zacamandú" (The Magic Bull) percolates with raw energy. But the CD's real surprise is in the slower tracksthe restrained, hypnotic chant of "El Coco" and, especially, "La Guanábana," with its almost classical arrangement and deliberate build-up and release that echos the song's lyrics of yearning sexuality.

Well, to begin with, the music is fabulous--an excellent purchase. The product arrived in a timely manner, in good condition. I am pleased--again.
Authentic son jarocho.......2004-11-18
On FLOREANDO, Conjunto Jardin is joined by Tim Harden on harp and jarana. Tim is the music professor/folklorist/father of Libby and Cindy Hardin, the leaders of the group.
Tim gives the group even more of an authentic sound, although this does tone down the almost rock-like drive of the group slightly compared to their first cd NUEVO SON JAROCHO.
Another change between FLOREANDO and the group's first cd is the addition of multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Jorge Mijangos. Jorge plays both string and percussion instruments.
Bright and Joyful.......2003-07-15
I recently saw Conjunto Jardin in concert, and the excitement that ran through the audience with their first chords was electric. Their first CD, "Nuevo Son Jarocho," was a delight with the group's strong musicianship and pleasure in their playful interpretations of classic songs evident on every cut. This CD, "Floreando", is equally enjoyable, with strong, pure vocals and that always-surprising Jarocho syncopation that will tickle anyone with a rhythmic bone in his or her body.
This is not straight traditional son, which includes a harp and uses string instruments for percussion. Conjunto Jardin has a wonderful percussionist from West Africa who ekes a world of beat from what looks like a wooden box. The harp is replaced by a keyboard (for most people, this is very hard to tell on the album) and then there is, of course, the fact that the vocalists are women. Libby and Cindy Harding's vocals are soaring and pure, and the bass and percussion provide the balance that is usually not included in traditional son where everything seems tuned and sung really high. The result is traditional music with a new kick
From the upbeat "El Colas" to the yearning "La Guyabana" these are multilayered, textured, infectious songs that stick in your head and put a spring in your step. Irresistible

Killer Detroit Band.......2006-12-20
Basically, this is a really strong hard rock disc - and not metal, though it's just as heavy. Angie Zilla's drumming is powerful and the guitar is in your face. The vocals are a throaty bellow in Rachael's small voice - the result is cool, like Joan Jett at 13. The bass is barely audible on headphones, though, so that is a little problem. But don't think they can't play their instruments! The lyrics are gritty, funny and grounded in reality, which proves this isn't metal. My only gripe is the remix track, which is eye-wateringly awful. Well worth buying.
Smokin' Little Band.......2006-02-28
I caught these guys in a little club in Columbus about a year ago, and after they tore the roof off the place, I had to pick this album up. Lady Luck does a good job capturing the energy the band puts out live, with a quick pace and clear, punchy production. The tunes are straight ahead, catchy and powerful hard rock; kind of like Motorhead (...). Rachael May has a great, rough voice, Angie Manly's drumming is tight and energetic, and Rachael and Kim Essiambre's guitar / bass work is rocking (if not overly complicated). This kind of stuff is usually not my cup of tea, but I'm still jamming this album regularly. Buy it.
Supersonic Action-Packed and Estrogen Powered.......2005-12-06
Here's an up-and-coming band that deserves to be so famous that they inspire a worldwide backlash from mere jealous mortals. Broadzilla are a jawdroppingly powerful metal band out of Detroit with this era's most effective combination of melody and muscle, and this album is their 2001 masterpiece. The Broadzilla sound is built upon the relentless and maximalist drum onslaught of Angie Manly and the booming classic metal basslines of Kim Essiambre. The lightning rod of the band is singer/guitarist Rachel May, a vocalist of great emotive power and a lyricist of serious skill and insight. This album's top highlights are the neckbreaking "Y Did U Have 2B Psycho," a remorseless buttkicking both lyrically and musically, and "Four: Twenty" which delivers a monstrous groove and Rachel May's best sultry vocal performance. Broadzilla's creativity as players and songwriters is also evident in the minimal AC/DC-like strut of "Diamond Sex Goddess" and a bluesy boogie rave-up in "On the Run." And the band opens up new future avenues for their sound in the ominous and extra-long "High Society," not to mention a brilliant cover of "Love Child" (originally by Diana Ross and the Supremes) in which the band brings out the pain and redemption of the lyrics in ways far beyond the sunny Motown delivery of the original. If you're a heavy rock fan looking for a brighter and more exciting future, Broadzilla is your new favorite band. [~doomsdayer520~]

The Las Vegas Dreams.......2004-11-21
I'm a alternative music specialist and I seek for it in any kind of opportunity. In Monster Garage: A reality show in mechanics, I saw a member of this band called "Professor Ginz" and a copy of the band's CD (Scratched by Jesse James after Professor Ginz taked off the J.J.'s Black Sabbath to play his The Reactors CD.) and I immediately search it on the web to find any infos on this band. Finally, I reach it on Amazon.com after I hear a mp3 file from The Reactors: The Las Vegas Dreams. It's a very powerful hot rod music like BTO (Backman Turner Overdrive) and I very surprised by the goodness of this band after downloaded the two mp3 tracks.
The entire CD will be a masterpiece of solid "engine" music!
If you see somewhere a destroy of a CD, search it on the web, try it and you will be satisfied to buy it!
bad , bad cd !.......2003-12-23
