Tableside Manners is a gem that progresses from a raw television-esque squabble in the album's opening to an ambient reflection in "soreness of legs". In between, singer Rick Alverson explores issues of loss, friendship, death, and change with an eye to the incremental and mundane events that occur in daily life. In "Queen of Venice", my favorite song, telegraph-like guitars rattle and bass lines rise and fall, reminiscient of early new order. Other favorite tracks are: Our Host, Dorothea (cool xylophone),Forfeit. I have been a fan of Drunk for a while and this is their best work.
