Product Description
Krieg continues down it's path of discomfort & dismay through the conceptual "The Black House" album. Based on nightmarescapes and hallucination Krieg opens up a new era in their evoloving sound throguh the use of thick waves of guitar & vocals. Includes a surprising cover of The Velvet Underground's "Venus in Furs".

Back to the 90's.......2007-01-10
It's good to hear the big voice of Martha Wash in Black Box (never knew who was the girl appeared in the videos, but well... for me it's the voice, not the look the important thing).
All the hits, very good megamix. Over 70 minutes of classic dance music
Italino House at its best.......2005-08-12
I love the thourght of a band that only releases one album also releases a greatest hits CD.
But Black Box was the band that started the whole Italion House and I love it.
If you dont have "Ride on time" In our collection of get this one. but the best Black Box CD I have is still "Right on Time" the origenal 12" Extended Mix
all good.......2005-08-02
showed up on time and black box is hard to find, very happy..thank you charlie.
The only Black Box album you need!.......2005-02-24
I came across this album recently while browsing in the dance/freestyle section of my local record store, and remembering I used to jump up and down on my bed to "Everybody Everybody" when I was 14, immediately bought it. "Hits And Mixes" contains all of Black Box's smash hits from the early 1990s, including "Ride on Time", "I Don't Know Anybody Else", "Strike It Up", "Fantasy" and of course "Everybody Everybody". In addition to all of the tracks from their one (and only) album "Dreamland" (with the exception of the title track, really just a 2-minute instrumental, and therefore not missed), "Hits and Mixes" actually improves on that album by including several remixes, including the 1994 trance remix of "Ride on Time", the popular Le Freak mix of "Everybody Everybody" (joy!), a soulful acid house remix of "Strike It Up", a new club track called "Get Down", and a Megamix medley! Overall, this is probably the most complete and comprehensive Black Box album you can get your hands on at this writing. If you love classic Italian-style House music with strong diva vocals, you will love this album! Put it in your CD player, and in no time, you will be transported back to 1990, and jumping up and down on your bed to the beat! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
WOW! What a great CD!.......1999-07-03
In April of this year, I researched and ordered about 10 CDs to help me start an exercise program. The best duo by far is this one paired with The Weather Girls, Puttin' On The Hits - every song is great and you'll be dancing or exercising non-stop! Also checkout; the Sweat Mix Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 for great songs that blend together and keep you moving, Women of Dance, Vol. 1 & Vol. 2 are both excellent, Ultimate Dance Party 1998 and 1997 make 2 hours fly by,and Club Mix '98 is a double CD set that's awesome.

A must for your Praise Collection.......2006-05-07
This is one of my favorite praise CD sets. Truly inspirational songs sung from the heart by a spirit led church. It will lead you into worship.
Wonderful!!.......2006-01-25
As usual, the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir has managed, by the grace of God, to produce a cd that serves as an instrument to worship- not entertainment. You can hear their love for the Lord in every song and every testimony- I love them!! You WILL enjoy this CD.
Amazing worship experience..........2005-12-13
This choir is amazing. I love this CD because I feel the presence of my lord while i listen to it. My favorites songs are "Lord I believe in you", "Saved" , "We are not ashamed" and "Days of Elijah". You have to own one to your worship collection. I gave it an A+.
Also I recommend their latest release "Im Amazed".
Nice Music.......2005-09-13
I like to listen to this kind of music. You get two discs with this one, and it's definitely worth it. It lifts you up after a bad day.
Live..This is your house.......2005-05-27
One of the most inspirational cd's I have ever listened to...truly sung by people who love the Lord and have a heart to worship Him through their songs

murder mayhem hurt her hate him.......2006-10-03
Sometimes people look into this world and wonder wow how great and pleasent it is.............. and then there is Otep Shamaya. With music as her weapon otep obliterates the norm of knowledge. Finding grounds between the mind of Manson and the voice of Corpsegrinder and with the help of Joey Jordison (drums) on a few tracks. This album is basically a blend of nu metal, strange atmospheric sounds together with a suicidal voice of this world. If you want something that's heavy, if you want something that's disturbing, if you want something that straight up sounds like nothing you've ever heard before buy this album...... you won't be displeased.
Not for the extremely sensitive.......2006-09-02
Ok first off i would say that Otep is one of the most brutal bands with a female vocalist, the theme's to there songs can be very brutal and/or sensitive, those who don't like getting scared or are very sensitive i'd stay away from this cd, because i know someone who had a PTSD panic attack from listening to the first track Requiem....I myself love her music, and the intensity is empowering, lol, and im just writing this review for the tracks that i like.
1. Requiem - not necessarily a track, but the intensity of it is awesome, and i laugh because it's so crazy, lol im not crazy though
5. House of Secrets - awesome track, i just wish she would have had a more hoarse voice in it
7. Gutter - I love in this song and the others, how she doesn't hold back her problems, this song's really short but pretty crazy, her voice sounds tormented(rock on).
9. Suicide Trees - Awesome vocals they say she can't sing but in my opinion the more hoarse it sounds the more tormented it is,i love the Satanic feel to her voice, it's awesome, and haunting and it makes me laugh because it's hard to listen to
10. Nein - lyrically much like gutter, the screams in it are awesome, and it almost feels like your withering away, it makes me laugh though listening to it, and makes some tears come to my eyes
Utter tripe unless you are in middle school.........2006-07-03
Unless the thought of buying a cd for one song excites you, avoid this cd at all costs. Their first attempt, the Jihad E.P., was fantastic, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in checking out this band. I was a little disappointed with the seveS trA cd (their second release), mainly because it was just a glorified re-release of Jihad (with two other good songs). Unfortunately, there is only one good song on House of Secrets ,"Warhead", which also has an equally awesome video. This rest of the album is filled with horribly pretentious poetry and ridiculous spoken word, none of which could be considered enlightened or prolific. Basically, it is reminiscant of the wannabe troubled artist, seventh-grade poetry that can be found all over Myspace for free. Nothing remotely amazing.
It also seems like the band spent more time making the packaging than the actual music. One side of the cd case is blue and the other red. You can take the booklet out, hold the case up to your eyes and READ THE LYRICS IN 3D! Whoo hoo, big whoop.
I could go on for paragraphs more about how crappy this album is, but I can sum it up in one sentance. Get the warhead song and forget this album was ever created.
a whole other level.......2006-07-01
The lead singer is hot and i'll listen to anything she sings or screams or whatever. I'm just being honest. The musics good too but honestly i bought it because I think she's hot. no, really i love metal, always have and right now this is the kind of music that i listen to. there is some very well written music on this album which by todays standards is a very rare thing. i read one review that compared this band to lacuna coil. that is wrong. there music is way different. otep is heavier and dark. lacuna coil is a good band but they are starting to turn mainstream. you can't compare the two so don't.
Anyways, i like this album and the singer is hot.
it was ok .......2006-03-15
i don't get this album it really isn't that good
to industrial sounding for me i love metal but never like industrial metal its too boring and so is this album
if you want a good female vocalist on a metal album try KITTIE

Customer Reviews:
A good value.......2007-05-17
I wasn't expecting to have 4 discs for this price, and the music is a quality selection of film music, giving a good scope of the genre, and a very listenable transfer.
The Sound Track Since Bernard Hermann.......2006-07-25
This collection is bound to capture your heart and evoke a tin ear on successive tracks. I found much to like and some duds - easy to skip over.
Very good value.
Good mix of film music.......2006-07-02
Good mix of films!
I'm a big fan of this soundtrack music and will be looking for more CD's like this.
A mixed collection of movie music.......2006-02-23
For the price, this CD is a great bargain. The musical selections, as you might expect, are mixed in quality ranging from extraordinary to so so, the balance being worthwhile and interesting. Sonically the CD is excellent.
Uplifts your soul, takes your mind into the heavens.......2006-01-06
I have been listening to great scores for many years and this collection is truly inspirational in so far as the choice of different scores takes you on a journey of listening pleasure matched by only a few collections. The price is incredibly reasonable for hours of listening pleasure. Don't pass this one up

Better than your average dance album.......2005-04-18
Dance pop: Usually you get about 2 great hit tracks and a whole bunch of boring filler you never listen to. Not the case with this one. Sure, you'll know the big hits "Everybody Everybody", "I Don't Know Anybody Else" and "Strike it Up", but there's some others worth your time here, too.
HIGHLIGHTS:
"Everybody Everybody" appears in the Top 40 single edit here, along with Martha Wash's orgasmic wailing opening for "I Don't Know Anybody Else". "Fantasy", a 'go after your dreams' number, is surprisingly solid and probably could have been a single. The Brand New Heavies' Loleatta Holloway guests on the sizzling "Ride on Time". The midtempo throb of "Hold On"'s "Co-caine..co-caine...to go straight to your brain" will also embed itself. Final single "Strike it Up" is another good one with Wash tearing it up on vocals and a rap that doesn't sound horribly out of date (unlike, say "Ya Kid K" does these days...)
LOW POINTS:
The title track is a dull instrumental...you'll never really turn to it on purpose. "Open Your Eyes" is also a bit of a snoozer. "Ghost Box" sounds like a Kenny G outtake. It's completely out of place here and I'm not sure what producer "Groove Groove Melody" was thinking other than possibly "Gee..I've only got 8 songs so far. I better put at least ONE more on there or people will think it's a rip-off."
BOTTOM LINE:
Even with the short run time, it's one of the better dance CDs I've heard and I still pull it out from time to time. For a genre with usually little longevity, this one continues to sound pretty good. Recommended.

Album Description
French dance rock four-piece Black Strobe connects Norwegian death metal, French club anthems, and London super-producer Paul Epworth. Few bands manage to combine guitars and electronics as successfully. The first single, "Shining Bright Star", is a stunning marriage of gut-butting bass guitar, droning synth, and menacing but melodic vocals. The opening track, "Brenn di Ega Kjerke" ("Burn Your Own Church"), is a nod to black metal. The flip side to the band's personality is "Girl Next Door", as downbeat and spooky as a 4 a.m. walk home, and the most surprising moment is a high-octane electronic cover of Bo Diddley's "I'm A Man", which will be the second single. The sum of these parts is a jaw-dropping debut.

And Now That It's 13 Years Later ..........2007-04-04
... after the first printing of this collection, let me say LOUD and CLEAR that WaxTrax! (now TVT) Records NEEDS TO RE-RELEASE THIS COLLECTION OF CLASSICS!!! As it stands, Black Box is a hard to find collector's item, as the prices for used copies can attest (nobody's gonna have a new one available, kids, at least not for a reasonable price). You're lucky if you can find someone who kept immaculate, anal-retentive care of the discs. I was lucky to find a copy of this set at my local record shop, but the condition of the CDs would rate as GOOD, VERY GOOD at best. I'm just glad that after 13 years, they will still play in my CD player.
I'm not going to fire off a huge, elaborate critique of the set. If this kind of music from this time period pushes the dopamine receptors in your brain over the brink (and you know who you are), then this collection is for you. Yeah, it's primarily industrial in nature, but there are hints of techno, hard/goth rock, and dark experimental music. The 3-CD set clocking in at roughly 3 1/2 hours of music represents a nice, thick, bloody slice of a time and a place, and yes, it's just that damn good. Read the other reviews for point by point details. At worst, this one gets 4.5 stars. At best, it easily garners 5.
Wow....just wow.......2006-11-27
My interest in industrial music and its history lead me down the path to this little almost forgetten jem at this point.
This is industrial music as its not made anymore, as industrial music since the death of this label has become even more of a minor niche market fading into the obscure. But this box set captures industrial's golden age. An interesting mix of styles and history, it actually prompted to go visit the orginal WaxTrax store in Denver while on vacation(ironicly seeing one of the artists on the boxset.KMFDM). With all the music revials going on, I wish someone would revive this kind of industrial music, before its completely forgotten. The track that is the most well known is probably the cover of "Supernaut" with the Trent Renzor vocals, but that is to over look alot of other amazing material. You can feel the energy, the thoughtfulness, and the pioneering spirit racing though every track. The only shortcoming i'd say would be that Front 242's material couldn't be included.
Music history buffs will also get a kick out of this, there is a little booklet helping outline the history of the label, and quite a history it is. I find it quite sad that there is no real written books about WaxTrax and the chicago industrial scene of the 80s like there is for punk, hardcore, indie and their counterparts.
I recommend this comp 100%, and hope that you can feel the same love for this music as I do.
I wish I could give this collection 18 stars.......2002-11-04
I dj'd at college radio stations for 5 years in the late '80s, and was always pleasantly excited when I found a Wax Trax! label in the New bin. (Unfortunately, I usually did my shows in the dark and thought the name was "Wax Traxi" for the longest time!) The label was a mainstay of industrial music, and founders Jim Nash and Dannie Flesher consistently managed to sign and produce the most exciting musicians of the time -- the many incarnations of dear troubled genius Al Jourgensen, The Young Gods, FLA, Coil, Controlled Bleeding, Doubting Thomas, A Split Second, Lead Into Gold, Psychic TV, Foetus -- they are all here on three great discs packed with music that makes you want to move and feel. Disc One, Track One: Trent Reznor covers Black Sabbath's 'Supernaut' with 1000 Homo DJs -- a version previously unreleased, and then you are zipping through Sister Machine Gun and The Young Gods and oh so many more seminal industrial bands. Divine puts the "fun" in funky with "The Name Game", the label's second release. I was also happy to hear a few groups that had somehow slipped past me the first time around, like Wreck. I had a great time listening to this collection and am still listening to it. You can put in any of the three discs and be happy for a long time.
The packaging is beautiful -- a heavyweight black box covered with hip lettering and disturbing images; three black CD cases containing labeled discs and a listing with artist, cut, time and version information; and a terrific booklet that relates the anecdotal history of Wax Trax! -- it's artistically interesting as well as substantive and entertaining.
If you enjoy industrial music, you cannot go wrong with this incredible collection of the music and people that started it all. And why not put a few bucks into the pockets of the guys who loved the music more than the profits?
Worth the money!.......2002-02-28
This Chicago-based record label compilation is an awesome chunk of the work done by most of the best industrial bands that came out of N. America and Europe in the 80s. Very interesting and innovative music- fans of industrial music or darker techno should like most of this stuff quite a bit.
A wee handbook for the perplexed.......2000-11-25
This 3 CD set offers an excellent overview of the artists that made WaxTrax! Records synonymous with beautiful, challenging music. Coil, Thrill Kill Kult, Meat Beat Manifesto, Ministry, KMFDM, Pig, RevCo, even some early Frontline Assembly is featured on this Box. And for you NIN fans, there's even the original version of 1,000 Homo DJs' 'Supernaut' with Trent Reznor on vox. The enclosed booklet encapsulates the WT! history, including the TVT buyout. Overall, a great mix of music and information about the early days in Chicago that is well worth the price.

Customer Reviews:
okay.......2007-01-05
I heard wonderful things about this recording... but was a little disappointed. It is good, but nothing spectacular.
A promise about to be fulfilled.......2006-12-17
Not all of EMI's Debut seeries make it to the U.S., but since this one features an American singer, it did (as did the one featuring rising pianist Jonathan Biss). Nathan gunn is certainly well kn0wn now, after high-profile Met appearances in The Magic Flute and Harbison's An American Tragedy. The past few years have seen him mature, even though his voice will never be heroic. Gunn is very well suited to songs, although he makes a moving (and physically handsome) Billy Budd.
Her he sounds a little stiff, and he cannot carry off the numbers that re comic (Bolcom's Fur) or popular (Buddy, Can You Spare a Dime?), but his straightforward masculinity works extremely well in Gene Scheer's Holding Each Other, he has enough poetry for Barber's Sure on This Shining Night, and just enough savoir faire for Rorem's Early One Morning. The voice itself isn't intrinsically beautiful, which may in the end mean that Gunn falls behind young counterparts like Gerald Finley and Simon Keenlyside, both of whom he resembles. Even so, this is a nice debut, and one can say that gunn's promise is being fulfilled.
Amazing collection - amazing voice........2006-02-22
Nathan Gunn has chosen a collection of mostly obscure songs and has applied his remarkable baritone voice to music not usually in the operatic repetoire. What results is a CD of depth, some humor, and extraordinary listenability. It's nice to see one of my favorite opera stars branch out. Bravo!
Amazing recordings.......2006-01-02
I first listened to this recording at the recommendation of a voice teacher and I am eternally grateful. I strongly recommend this album. Nathan Gunn is an extremely talented singer. As a singer myself (also a baritone like Nathan Gunn) I find much in his voice to model.
Nathan Gunn has an extremely beautiful voice, superb technique and execution, and has a very natural sound. There is an old steriotype of opera as sounding forced or artificial, but Nathan Gunn does a great job of avoiding this. He does a great job of communicating the "story" of the song to the listener, and I frequently found myself taken to the world of the song. Listening to many of his songs are like opening a good book and Nathan Gunn takes you there.
Highly recommended.
First Rate Singing!.......2005-12-20
I only recently discovered Mr. Gunn, but after hearing this recording, it makes me wonder why his name has eluded me for so long. Simply put, Nathan Gunn sings like a god! His voice is pure, and hypnotically beautiful to listen to. Turn on this CD and you will be wrapped in the most luxurious blanket of sound--his phrasing is impeccable, and his dynamics are wonderfully varied without being affected. His recording of Barber's "Nocturne" is haunting. "Brother, Can You Spare a Dime" shows he isn't afraid of low notes, and the ending has some of the most spectacular high notes I've ever heard from a baritone. The Copland songs are also well done, as are the two John Jacob Niles selections. I wasn't familiar with Gene Scheer's songs prior to this CD, but they are all quite remarkable, though most especially "Lean Away" and "American Anthem." This is the best addition to my CD collection in a long time. I'm only saddened by the fact he doesn't have more recordings available. Mr. Gunn, I know you're busy with your opera schedule, but for those of us who can't make it to New York to see you in person, please record another CD!

Product Description
"The House of Apples & Eyeballs" is not a split, but a year-long, full-length collaboration by both bands. The Octopus Project is known and loved for their uncategorizable broken-guitars-meet-samplers-meet-drums-meet-drum machines sound, while the musical island of Black Moth Super Rainbow would rather play their songs in the woods and not let you know if their gear is broken or working just fine. Holding hands from Austin to Pittsburgh, they set out to create one of the wilder pop records of the year. For anyone familiar with both bands, may you find yourself at peace with this dream record. But know that not all is as it seems, and the challenge of figuring out which band played which parts may sometimes be impossible. While a couple tracks did make it to the record in their original, one-band form, most were passed back and forth for several rounds of dismemberment, rearrangement, and augmentation. The result overflows with sonic treats: cut-up beats and vocoder melodies collide with huge, distorted riffs. A theremin orchestra descends into layered steel guitars before all is dissolved in a wash of hazy synths. The Octopus Project appears courtesy of Peek-A-Boo Records. They have wowed audiences in 2006 at Coachella, and were named one of Rolling Stone's breakout bands of SXSW. They will soon be going into the studio to record their very highly anticipated third album in 2007. Black Moth Super Rainbow lives on Graveface Records, and although known as somewhat of an enigma, has come out of the forest in 2006 to play at the request of bands like Of Montreal and The Black Angels. They have been recording their third full length album that will be released when the time is just right.
Customer Reviews:
Awesome.......2007-06-14
These bands sound awesome together on cd and live.
Great album.......2007-01-17
I love the Octopus, and they expand their sound on this album. Of course, this being a joint effort, it is not just their "voice" being heard.
