The Point! (1971 Television Animated Film) [Extra tracks] [Soundtrack]
Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com
Under the direction of Fred Wolf--the man who helmed most of the early Little Rascals shorts--you might expect The Point to be a benignly silly children's romp. It is not. The real guiding force here is full-grown rascal Harry Nilsson, who not only wrote the story and songs that comprise this made-for-TV cartoon, but recorded, produced, and even narrated them as well. The Point follows the travails of a rather hapless round-headed boy named Oblio, who can't seem to get over in a land of pointed people and things. Rich with semantic trickery, The Point is probably the most existential children's yarn ever told. But there's an elegance to these songs, and a satirical wink to their content, that--like any great story--transcends the cartoon's "intended" audience. If you enjoyed The Point as a child, give it another spin; not for nostalgia's sake, but for the wholly different spell it casts on adult ears. --Matt Hanks

Highlight versions of cast recordings are by definition a compromise, and this reduction of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera is no exception. Weighing in at 59 minutes, it's over 40 minutes shorter than the two-disc version, excising many musical scenes that convey the flow and impact of the show (which include, admittedly, a lot of patter and screaming). On the other hand, all the hits are here--"Think of Me," "Angel of Music," the title tune, "The Music of the Night," "All I Ask of You," "Masquerade," and "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again"--and Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman are still on hand to make their distinctive contributions to the original London cast. So if you're looking for a convenient, inexpensive single disc that will let you enjoy Lloyd Webber's scrumptious melodies without having to immerse yourself in the action, this just might be for you. --David Horiuchi

Music of the Night????????.......2007-02-28
I really liked the idea of a highlights cd; however, The Music of the Night is not the same one that is on the original two-disc cd. The words aren't even the same. If you enjoy Music of the Night, skip this cd. Otherwise, this cd would be 5 stars.
Great short version!.......2006-12-06
If you only want to hear the songs from this musical, this one is for you. But if you want the full version, get the 4-disc version. I listen to this version in my car when I'm on the road, but I listen to the 4-disc version at home. Both versions are worth the purchase.
A long time favorite.......2006-08-26
This is one of my most treasured CDs. The voices of the cast are incredible! "Think of Me" and "All I Ask of You" are 2 of my favorites. If you enjoy the story behind Phantom, yu will like this soundtrack.
The Best Recording of this Show Available.......2006-04-21
I think that this is the best PHANTOM soundtrack out there:
1)It has the original Broadway cast, the best.
2)It cuts out the more risqu? parts of the show (believe me, there are some), making it "appropriate for the whole family."
3)The entire CD is on one disc, so you can go through the show w/o switching discs.
4)The only song that the movie soundtrack has on it that this doesn't is "Learn to Be Lonely," which appears in the credits, and isn't really a great song anyways.
Great CD.......2006-03-14
I bought this CD as a birthday gift for my boyfriend. We had misplaced the one that we had and needed a new one. This is one of our favorite cd's. Such beautiful music.

Must everything have a point? That's the question posed by Harry Nilsson's 1971 pop parable of a well-rounded young boy named Oblio, from the Land of Point, who's cast apart from the community by those who resent his pointlessness. Conceived when the gifted singer-songwriter was on an acid trip, The Point! is a product of its time, what with its central theme (the hollowness of conformity) and ornate Beatles-era pop. But the message--presented in song and narration--and music are delivered with a grace and gentleness that elevates The Point far above most socially conscious '60s art. Produced as a made-for-TV movie in 1971, this audio version of the modest masterpiece will appeal to adult fans of the late singer. More to the point, however, it'll capture the fancy of thoughtful youngsters who'll empathize with the little boy who finds points where he's told there are none, and concludes, "If everything has a point, well then I must have one, too." --Steven Stolder
Customer Reviews:
Amazing!!!.......2007-05-19
This CD is so incredible - it's just what I remembered from my childhood. My 2-year old asks to listen to it in the car every day. I love the way it makes me feel. Harry Nilsson is truly wonderful!
You Been Goofin' With the Bees?.......2006-08-11
This is arguably Nilsson's best set of songs. Every number is melodic, filled with wonderful "orchestral" arrangements, retaining the bounciness you want from Nilsson. His puzzling multi-tracked vocalizing never sounded better. Great period keyboards.
It is also one of the best soundtrack lps ever. Why? Not just the songs. The fantastic idea of having Harry himself read his story between each song works so well. And he's NOT reading the film script, but his own typed out version of the fable. (In other words, he's not reading Ringo's narration from the film) This makes for differences in story. For instance, in Harry's version, Oblio has no friends other than Arrow. In the film, he's pretty popular with all the townsfolk, except the Count's son. Harry's own double-tracked Rock Man is hilarious and Harry's voice for the Count is, of course, a bit like a Nazi in a WW2 film. You'd expect that.
The extra cuts are revealing of the creative process. The final one, "Down to the Valley" eventually became the superior song, "Everything's Got 'Em." The other two extra cuts feature radically different instrumentation choices, and different vocalizing.
The package includes two booklets:
The cd-sized comic book is difficult to read as others have said. Get out your magnifying glass.
The main booklet is thoroughly informative, revealing much interesting trivia, and includes a complete personnel listing. Four or five names should look familiar to fans of Pet Sounds!
Thank god for the point.......2006-05-26
It was winter (I think) of 71 or 72 and I was 11. I was at home sick with the flu and I saw The Point and loved it. I was a somewhat lonely only child so perhaps I had an inherent set of ideas on conformity which where a large part of The Point's subject. It comforted me during this confusing time and taught me some valuable lessons about always re-examining your ideas and values and the preciousness of a loyal friend (ie. Arrow)among other things. Having seen The Point only the one time its messages have echoed with me to this day. Even now I cant listen to "Me and my Arrow" without beaming, or "Lifeline" (when Arrow dissappears into the hole) without a tug at the ol' heart.
Truly a gentle and unsung masterpiece!
A Blast from the Past.......2006-02-24
I purchased Harry Nilsson's The Point after recently disposing of my vast collection of vinyl records. I hadn't heard The Point for many years and wondered whether Nilsson's whimsical and satirical piece could withstand the rigours of musical time. I am writing this review to let you the reader know how wonderful it was to revisit this clever and humorous work which provokes thought on so many levels for school age children to mature age adults. I highly recommend this CD regardless of your age - the Rock Man is sure to bring a smile to your face.
Long Time Fan.......2006-02-15
Born in 1976, I was raised on this wonderful Fairytale. Not only a great story but wonderfully constructed with the folky music.
Having exposed many children to this tale and have relived the delite over and over again.

Great Cover.......2007-06-29
Great cover and great cd. This would have to be the companion album to 'Leftoverture'. Trying to follow-up to that monster hit seemed impossible but Kansas delivered. Although at first listen, quite different and maybe a bit disappointing for Kansas fans at the time, this album just grew on you listen after listen. Totally different than 'Leftoverture', but still in the same vein as that recording this really put Kansas in a class all by themselves. Album covers in the day were how sometimes you purchased (no sound bytes in those days) and this one was great and the music inside was impeccable, but, so much so that Kansas would have a difficult time living up to these two albums for the rest of the their career. Great music then that is still very viable today and worth every listen.
Kansas - The Band At The Top Of Their Game.......2007-06-20
In terms of album sales "Point Of Know Return" would be Kansas high water mark. The band had come to the attention of mainstream radio with their previous disc and America seemed ready to embrace what Kansas had to offer. The album spawned another huge classic rock staple "Dust In The Wind" that to a younger generation may be more associated with a car commercial. The title track "Point Of Know Return" was another huge single, and one of the few hits penned by Steve Walsh. "Closet Chronicles" also received a lot of AOR airplay. This album shows a band at the absolute top of their game as the band had become experts at combining progressive rock with more accessible styles to come up with this true winner of an album. Along with the above mentioned tracks everything else here is great, "Paradox", Walsh's killer little instrumental "The Spider", a tribute to Albert Einstein "He Knew", one of the heaviest songs they ever did, "Lightning's Hand", the almost funky "Sparks Of The Tempest" with it's duel lead vocals from Walsh and Steinhardt, "Nobody's Home", and the beautiful album closer "Hopelessly Human". This is all top notch stuff and shows off all of Kansas strengths. This one is essential Kansas.
Kansas of Topeka!!!!!!!!!!!.......2007-05-21
My first Kansas album ever. Although being a fan of the group old standards,it was time to discover.having worn out my "Best of" set.of course, this album has "Point of Know Return" & "Dust In The Wind".But,there are so many other greats,I have discovered.Starting of with,"Paradox"."Portrait","Lightning's Hand" & "Nobody's Home". The latter being one of my new faves of Kansas.See for yourself and buy this NOW!!!! If you like Kansas and that style of rock you will be super pleased.
All we are is just,Dust In The Wind!!!!
A fresh perspective..........2007-02-08
This album was recorded before I was born so I am not offering a biased opinion of something that I hold sentimental value in. I have recently been going back into the catalouge of rock history and listening to a lot of early progressive rock.
Kansas - whenever I used to hear the band's name it made me think of country rock. Of course I was familiar with the songs 'Carry On Wayward Son' (from the previous album Leftoverture) and 'Dust In the Wind', but those songs were the only thing I knew about Kansas music.
For those who may not know - Kansas is a PROGRESSIVE ROCK band - not country rock (although hints of southern style rock are incorporated into the music at times). This music is much more similar to the likes of Yes and Genesis than it is with bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd or The Allman Brothers. Crazy keyboard instrumentals, ambient sound effects, and offbeat drumming and guitar rythyms are throughout this great album.
The highlight point of the album for me is the awesome guitar leads of 'Lightning's Hand' leading directly into the mellow acoustic ballad 'Dust in the Wind' and then picking up again on the funky jazz rock song 'Sparks of the Tempest' - the diversity of these three songs for me sums up this album and what Kansas is about. An amazing album that I wish I had heard in its entirety years ago.
RECOMMENDATION: For younger readers - If you enjoyed this album then you should also check out 'The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway' by Genesis. I will be posting more reviews of older albums as time permits - see my profile for some recommendation lists and other stuff.
Better with age..........2007-01-28
A lot of 70's rock that I used to like now sounds ridiculous to me, but Point of Know Return comes off better than ever. The sound quality on this CD is fantastic and Point of Know Return is the high point of Kansas' discography. The extra tracks were a little disappointing as the live version of Hopelessly Human is barely distinguishable from the album cut and the live recording of Lightning's Hand fails miserably to capture the power of the the real live performance of this song. Still, if you ever liked Kansas you won't be disappointed with this CD in your changer.

Brings back fond memories from the early seventies..........2007-05-13
In my opinion, this is still one of John Mayall's best albums ever. He is called the master of British Blues and proves it on this live gig. The alto sax solos in several of the songs are wonderful. Get it and listen to it, is all I can say!
Another one left behind...........2007-03-14
Over the years i have left some great and classic LPS at 'close friends' homes. My friend Gloria was the earth mother for our 'band of gypsys'. Her apartment was the place to party and crash, and above all listen to those forbidden albums you could never hear at home. This and Aqualung, plus all the Moody Blues, released at that time, were played alot. Gloria was a Janis Joplin Fanatic. There was some great times and smoke had by all when the stereo was cranked up. From start to finish this was a great album, and from this we moved on to Mark-Almond's first LP. John Mayall talking about
chiky-chiky what had us laughing and the mouth percussion put us over the
top. But as much as i loved this Album back then, hearing it alone is not the same. Invite some friends over each of you play what you like and include this one, too. Fans of the newest tween-age hotty will not be impressed-the more fool them. Fans of the Blues, and those who did not know they were, caught on to John Mayall and never left him behind. Catch
him here and all that he has done. This would be a good start. I left this behind and it was my loss and her gain. The CD is in the mail for me as we speak.
I Saw Mayall Live at the Fillmore.......2006-08-26
But it was the show at the Fillmore West, and "Room To Move" knocked everyone off their feet. Well, they were already sitting on the floor (no chairs, then!). They say that if you remember the 60's, you weren't really there, but I think this show was SO memorable, it made it through the filter of time. You didn't have to be there. You can just buy this, and .... imagine.
John Mayall's The Turning Point.......2006-08-12
This is one of Mayall's first and best CDs or records a we used to say. I never tire of listening to Mayall's harmonica and voice. His music has lasted through time. He's as popular as ever.

Customer Reviews:
Music that calms me.......2007-02-08
I am no expert. I just like listening to arias that have the capacity to bring me into the music. For me, the songs are like oxygen and taking deep breaths lowers my heart rate and helps me get my mind off everything but the soulfullnes and beauty of the human voice instument.
Interesting Choices.......2007-01-05
Very interesting choices for this soundtrack. Very evocative. Understood that these are old recordings, so sound quality is not fabulous.
Great for non experts.......2006-10-05
I really have no knoledge about opera or I had never had an interest for it but when I saw the movie I just loved the music. The CD is not a disappointment at all. It is only opera and a great selection of songs I would say. If you liked what you heard on the movie you should have it.
On-Point.......2006-05-12
I love everything that has to do with this film at the moment, and the soundtrack is NO exception. Woody Allen has a knack for picking just the right songs to compliment his films, and while watching the WONDERFUL Match Point you can't help but be drawn into the music that laces each scene like delicate embrodery placed only to embelish each frame and make it all the more impressive. This is a soundtrack to enjoy OVER AND OVER again. Each track, although there aren't many, is a joy in itself, but the best track is 'Una Furtive Lagrima' which serves as the theme song of sorts. Seriously though, even though I'm reviewing the soundtrack and not the film, I can't stress enough how brilliant this film really is, and the soundtrack is the perfect companion to the film. They go together hand in hand and should be enjoyed time and time again.
For Those so Engrossed by the Film, Here are the Excerpts that Molded It.......2006-04-28
This soundtrack is a fun little exercise in discovery for those who loved the film MATCH POINT and want to know more about the music that accompanied the story in such an integrated way. It is also a terrific souvenir for opera fans who do not yet own the recordings of the legendary Enrico Caruso!
Woody Allen created his character Chris as a lover of opera and integrated that love for opera into the family of wealth he 'enters'. The story is so well written and Allen is so well versed in opera that his selections for excerpts greatly added to the depth of the film.
Here are the old recordings of Enrico Caruso singing arias from 'Il Trovatore', 'Salvator Rosa', 'Les Pecheurs de perles', 'Macbeth', and 'L'elisir d'amore'. In addition to these are excerpts from contemporary singers performing arias form 'La Traviata' (performed by Monika Krause and Georg Tichy), 'Rigoletto' (sung by Alida Ferrarini with Alexander Rahbari conducting), 'William Tell' and 'Otello' (performed by Igor Morozov and Janez Lotric with Johannes Wildner conducting the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra). Probably copyright laws prevented the use of the 'live performances' at Covent Garden we heard in the film with very fine young singers, here substituted with Slovak recording artists. But the mood is still there.
This soundtrack recording makes for nice reminiscing about a fine film while adding a bit of flavor to the usual classical music collection! Grady Harp, April 06

Yes, it is THAT bad.......2007-06-08
Why, why is it so difficult to reissue the originals, in full? The music is wonderful--well, if you're a fan, you know that already--but the sound effects really are laughably bad. And as the sound effects were integral to the atmosphere of several tracks, it really does matter. Now, instead of the jungle sounds that accompanied the original track, you get to listen to some house sparrows chirping and flitting cheerfully from tree to tree, as if you were sailing toy boats in the park instead of slogging through the jungles of New Guinea. If the original sound effects are missing, minimal effort from RCA could have secured at least reasonably realistic substitutes. Instead, we get this pathetic garbage. Really a shame. That second star is only because the original music is so good.
More victory at sea.......2007-03-26
It's ok, but much of it was cut from the original album. I have the complete set of 33 1/3 albums, there were three, the cd is ok but lacks the original sounds put on when recorded.Sounds were added that were not originally there. It can't compare to the original.
Victory At Sea.......2007-03-09
This time honored musical composition is without a doubt the best in its depiction of war in the Pacific. The music tells the real story!!
More Victory at Sea.......2007-01-04
The quality of the digitally remastered music on this CD is far and above what I was expecting. The entire CD plays flawlessly without so much as a hint of unwanted background noise. My experience in purchasing this CD was very good. Shipment was almost immediate and delivery prompt. I can find absolutely nothing to complain about and am very happy with my purchase. Thanks a million.
Victory at Sea Volumes 1 and 2.......2006-12-14
What an utter disappointment. I've got the originals on vinyl, and this sad excuse for a reissue was not worth the money I spent. Most of the sound effects from the original have been left out, and the final 10-minute-plus piece, "Symphonic Scenario", bears not even a passing resemblance to the original. Don't waste your time and money.

The original 1978 Broadway cast recording of Stephen Schwartz's Working has long been awaited on CD, and this great-sounding 2001 release proves it was worth the wait. Surely one of the more unlikely sources for a musical was Studs Terkel's 1972 book that compiled interviews of American working people discussing their jobs and what they liked and disliked about them. Schwartz transformed these interviews into a series of songs written by himself, Craig Carnelia, Mary Rodgers and Susan Birkenhead, Micki Grant, and pop singer James Taylor, and accordingly the variety of songs is as great as the variety of the workers featured. There's the lyric beauty of "The Mason," the rueful "Just a Housewife," the retiree's wry "Joe," the waitress's lilting "It's an Art," Taylor's pop-country "Brother Trucker," and the powerful emotion of "Fathers and Sons," realized by a compelling cast that features David Patrick Kelly, Joe Mantegna, Bob Gunton, and Lynne Thigpen, among others.
Six bonus tracks include a new version of the grocery checker song written for the 1999 L.A. Theatreworks production, Carnelia and Grant performing their own songs (unfortunately, Grant's track comes from a poor-quality audio source), and Schwartz's moving performance of "Fathers and Sons" from 1999's The Stephen Schwartz Album. Also welcome are 2001 notes from Schwartz paired with 1978 notes from Terkel, and a detailed listing of the composers and performers of each song. Working was filmed for American Playhouse in 1982. --David Horiuchi

An underrated musical.......2006-03-16
This musical seems to be very underrated, because it isn't done in a traditional style. There is no set storyline or characters. It is essentially a grouping of songs about different people and the work they do in their lives. Some of the songs are very powerful, like "Millworker", and some are just fun, like "Lovin' Al". Some songs date the recording, as songs like "Brother Trucker", while good, have a bit of a synthesized 70's feel. The majority of the songs are more traditional.
I saw this show done by my high school years ago, so maybe it holds a bit of nostalgia for me, but it is definitely worth checking out.
Wonderful Lesser Known Gem.......2005-12-26
I have never seen Working, but would love to, and I would love to perform it so as to revive interest in it. I found out about this recording from an online site, and I fell in love with it. It's a very modern style musical although from 1978. Were it on Broadway today, it would still be revelent to today's working class. My favorite number probably has to be "It's An Art", just because of its sheer fun. I could listen to that song all day and never get bored with it. I do, however, find "Brother Trucker" to be a bit tiring, and "Neat To Be A Newsboy" is just plain old, outdated, and ANNOYING! Other than that, wonderful ablum for an almost forgetten show.
Keep Working!!!.......2004-06-12
I had the privilege of seeing a production of this wonderful musical at L.A. Valley College in May 2004. I quickly fell in love with the songs and the entire premise of the musical. Now, with this CD, I can finally sing along to all the brilliant songs over and over again, belting them out like there is no tomorrow.
What makes Working so special is that anyone can relate to the lyrics, they are powerful, beautiful, touching, and extremely real. Anyone who has ever worked a day in their life will feel the lyrics hit close to home. Whether you're a housewife, a valet parker, a fireman, a millworker, a teacher, a cleaning woman, or even a hooker, this musical has a place for you, no matter what job you do.The emotion, sincerity, and love expressed in the songs are amazing, and they are all extremely unique and a pure joy to listen to.
All the songs are fantastic but the stand-outs have to be "All the Live Long Day," "Just a Housewife," "If I Could've Been," "It's An Art," "Father's and Sons," "Cleaning Women," and "Something to Point to." I also have a soft spot for "Brother Trucker" and "I'm Just Movin" from the 1999 revival, which I am so grateful is included in this CD. This is a terrific, feel-great album everyone should listen to. Give Working a chance, it's worth it.
a good, if obscure CD.......2003-09-26
i admit that this is an obscure musical, but nevertheless i found myself in a production of WORKING as Grace, the millworker. upon listening to the cd, i found that each song characterized the character well. the newsboy song is NOT annoying and my favourite songs are "its an art", "cleaning women", "if i could've been" and "lovin al". I would only recommend this CD for a real musical theatre afficionado, as those who don't appreciate the beauty of a musical won't understand these songs.
off the beaten path.......2003-07-10
I had never heard of this show until I stage managed a musical revue that included "If I Could've Been." That song grew on me, and I finally had to check out the rest of the soundtrack. All of the music on this CD is fantastic, and the lyrics feel sincere, creating beautiful moments for each character. Stephen Schwartz's best decision with this show was collaborating, allowing different composers to bring their own talents and specialties to the music, thus making it more real and less "Broadway." My only criticism is that the liner notes are slim.

The Tunisian oud master Anouar Brahem has chosen to work in a trio setting this time out, accompanied by Francois Couturier on piano and Jean-Louis Matinier on accordion. Brahem states in the liner notes that these pieces were actually composed on the piano, emerging while he was taking a much-needed short break from his primary instrument. While Pas de Chat Noir ("The Black Cat's Footsteps") is a change of pace, it is a not a terribly remote detour. Brahem is still in his favorite space, exploring the power of implication, and the other players are in synch with his vision. All three participants sound muted, relating to one another in parallels rather than in a heated dialogue. The result is a spacious, romantic pastiche of Farid El-Atrache, Astor Piazzolla, Keith Jarrett, 19th- and 20th-century French impressionists (especially Eric Satie), plus shades of every strung-out, enervated, after-hours nightclub jam that ever was. --Christina Roden

Lovely.......2007-05-20
This is a beautiful CD, filled with a musical style which defies categorization. Evocative of Eric Satie's work for the piano, this album is a hypnotic mix of Middle Eastern and Western sounds - part jazz, part classical. This is one of those purchases which I am glad I went the extra mile to find.
truly unique.......2007-05-19
It is hard to describe this unusual CD. Hauntingly peaceful are two words that come to mind.Relaxing and calming are two more. Simply beautiful also.
absolutely essential (FJB/O!-music 2006).......2006-11-26
Anouar Brahem is an artist of incredible vision and talent. This recording, is one of his best.
In the notes to the CD, Brahem is quotes as saying that after recording his THIMAR album, the resulting physical and artistic exhaustion caused him to set aside his oud for a while - something he said he had never before done. Turning his musical ideas and expression to his piano, Brahem created the pieces recorded here. When he took these ideas into the studio (and taking his oud along with him), along with colleagues François Coutourier (piano) and Jean-Louis Matinier (accordion), his ideas were brought beautifully to fruition. The result is one of the most beautiful recordings I have ever heard.
The pieces having been written on the piano, that instrument takes the lead - but the oud and the accordion have a lot to say as well, and their voices blend effortlessly with that of the keyboard. Brahem is a master not only at composition and performing, but, in his arrangements, and in the very choosing of his accompanying musicians, shows a brilliance that is breathtaking. Through the various groupings that he has assembled on his recordings, he endows his music with a strength and scope that is stunning - it takes on a life of its own, and grows far beyond whatever boundaries smaller minds might employ to contain it by definition.
This is 'world music' in the deepest, spiritual sense of the phrase - political frontiers are vanquished and erased, while cultures are honored, respected and mingled.
Brahem's last album, ASTRAKAN CAFÉ, alluded to this meeting and convergence of styles - with each successive release, Brahem furthers his cause (and that of the open-minded, eager-to-explore listener). Each and every track included here is an absolute gem. Approach this album with an open mind and ear, and marvel at the journey on which you are to be led.
This is an absolutely essential recording.
Mediterranean Music.......2006-11-03
One of the best CDs I have ever bought. Many asked who was playing when I played it. I purchased 4 more for friends. Soothing and rich. if you like Arabic music infused with French touch of accordion.
excellent music.......2006-03-23
The music on this CD has a beautifully interweaving combination of instuments. The lovely melodies are simple and complex at the same time, and evoke pleasant reverie. Everyone we have played it for enjoyed it very much.

If you liked the movie you will enjoy the soundtrack. You can actually

Point of No Return.......2005-10-24
The songs are great. The incidental music from the soundtrack is a little bland.
I have to rave. Sorry.......2001-11-27
Note: I usually review Selena items, but...well, just read this, okay? You'll understand why I had to recommend this to anyone who looks up this CD on Amazon.com.
I haven't actually bought the soundtrack CD, just downloaded it in the glory days of Napster. However, I'd seen the movie when it was in theatres in 1993 and fell in love with the instrumentals. My favorite is "Happy Birthday Maggie," and it's my favorite instrumental of all time.
I'm about to buy the CD from Amazon.com, because I desperately want a copy for myself. The instrumentals are just so beautiful and haunting that I have to have this entire CD.
Discover Nina Simone.......2001-11-09
This movie soundtrack I fell in love with the first time I had seen the film. I wanted to find out why Maggie was so moved by this woman's voice. It has since turned me onto Nina Simone myself, she is everything from soulful to gospel to blues and more. Discover her yourself, you won't be disppointed! This is one of my favorite soundtracks.
Thanks for reading!
