Yet another knock-off compilation.......2005-07-20
lots of new classics.......no, REALLY!!!.......2002-07-07
Those that have continued to assimilate the band's output over the past several years have witnessed a return to form that is neither pretentious nor overly commercial. While Yes writes more concisely these days, they have actually become "progressive" again by writing/playing what they like, and not confining themselves to the sound of their classic period. Also, their harmonies have never sounded better.
OK -- there are a couple of earthy-crunchy Jon Anderson tracks on here, but there are some great songs here that will not only stand the test of time, but will impress non-converts as well. These include "Homeworld", "Open Your Eyes", "If Only You Knew", "Somehow Someday" (my favorite). My wife has never been crazy about Yes, but loves this CD.
This release is best for those that have not yet purchased 'Open Your Eyes', 'The Ladder', and the House of Blues CD. Those that have will find this to be a neat collection from their Igor Khoroshev period.
