Editorial Reviews
Product Description
MEN OF LAKE performs a kind of Progressive rock based on the melancholic vocals sung by Maurizio POLI, on some early Seventies sounding organ parts (In the style of RARE BIRD), and on beautiful guitar solos. This Italian band became the champions of a kind of music with nostalgic ambiences, though never out-of-date. Thanks to their colours and qualities, MEN OF LAKE can be compared to THE MOODY BLUES or to VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR or KING CRIMSON's first albums. "Out Of The Water" (1993) shows a fully grown style that sometimes goes towards psychedelic rock. "Music From The Land Of Mountains, Lake And Wine" (1998), third album by this line-up, confirms the affection they have for the sounds and musical tendencies of the Seventies. The influences of KING CRIMSON, the Canterbury school or the sophisticated pop-rock of those days can easily be heard here. Not to be missed, under no circumstances !
