Album Description
"Everything Is Illuminated" is the directorial debut of actor Liev Schrieber and an adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer's best-selling novel. A blend of high comedy and great tragedy, the film tells the story of a young American man, played by Elijah Wood (The Lord of The Rings trilogy), who journeys to the Ukraine to find the woman whom he believes saved his grandfather from the Nazis all those years ago.
The soundtrack features two new songs from high energy New York City based gypsy punks Gogol Bordello, including one track not on their current cd. (Note: Gogol Bordello's lead singer plays a role in "Everything Is Illuminated"). Also included are gypsy folk songs from Russia and the Ukraine by Leningrad, Arkadie Severmie, Csokolom and Tin Hat Trio. And finally, Paul Cantelon's ethnic score ties together this nicely cohesive soundtrack.
Customer Reviews:
Marvelous.......2007-06-13
This is an amazing soundtrack that highlights the two prevalent emotions in the film: hilarity and tragedy. Paul Cantelon deftly mixes an Eastern European feel with pure, gorgeous soundtrack music. Along for the ride are songs by genuinely fun and original bands. I never get tired of it. Sometimes, indeed, there are tracks I can't listen to simply because they're too sad - but then I switch to the upbeat, funny tunes, which always manage to entertain.
1. Odessa Medley: 9/10 - Enjoyable, with fun instruments. It builds up into an intricate array of instruments and melodies, and really picks up at the end, tempting you to let it sweep you along into the movie's crazy world. A great overture to the movie.
2. Leningrad, Zvezda Rok-N-Rolla: 8/10 - Oh, the drama! Leningrad is a Russian band. All of their songs on this album are crazy and fun and fit the craziness of the movie to a T. The horns are wonderful.
3. Csokolom, Amari Szi Amari: 10/10 - Superbly catchy, with that quirky, old feel dominant in the film, this song is a laidback sort of fun. It's the only song on the album not in Ukrainian, Russian, or English: it's Hungarian. This doesn't matter, however, because it fits so perfectly with the feel of the movie.
4. Leningrad, Dikiy Muzhchina: 10/10 - I LOVE this song. It's one my favorites here. The title means "Wild Man" in Russian, and it is definitely a very wild and (dare I say it again?) fun song. The lyrics really are just plain fun to sing along to, even if you don't speak Russian. You can practically feel the energy. In fact, I just now started to sing to it again...
5. Prologue/Babushka: 9.5/10 - This is where a darker mood begins to edge in. It sinks into a waltz that is more bittersweet than tragic, and then slows down to make way for a sweeping, haunting tune. Lovely.
6. Little Jonathan/The Wall: 9/10 - Playful, but once more in a bittersweet sort of way. After awhile it switches gears, swooshing up with energy, befores changing back to that haunting feeling of "Babushka" that I like to think of as simply The Past.
7. Gogol Bordello, Bublitschki: 8/10 - Time for some fun again. This instrumental piece by an immensely talented band (actually, Eugene Hutz, who plays Alex, is the lead singer of Gogol Bordello) mixes an irresistible beat with a traditional Slavic sound.
8. The Con Artists, Peter Miser, Ya-takoy: 9/10 - This definitely brings one back to the silliness of Alex in the beginning of the film. With snippets of his unbelievably hilarious dialogue and an urban beat going in the background, you'll be sucked right in.
9. Leningrad, Malen'kiy Mal'chik: 9/10 - Great fun! Leningrad never fails to entertain with this lazy collection of horns and vocals.
10. Tin Hat Trio, Fear of the South: 8/10 - Here's a piece to relax to. It's lighthearted and fresh.
11.Paul Cantelon, River of Collections: 9/10 - With breathy strings, "River of Collections" urges you quietly but with instistence along the river of The Past.
12. Paul Cantelon, Tank Graveyard/Valse de Suzana/Dee-yed: 9.5/10 - Here is the tragedy I've been referring to. It's sad. Almost unbearably so. It sweeps you up in the conflict of the characters, teasing you with peaks at the truth before fading back into the darkness.
13. Paul Cantelon, Sunflowers: 10/10 - Ukrainian, I believe. Haunting, with strong vocals that cast a spell.
14. Paul Cantelon, War Is Love/eta-Ya: 9.5/10 - It begins with lazy simplicity, but toward the end bursts into a powerful and urgent message.
15. Paul Cantelon, Trachimbrod/Ressurection/Requiem: 10/10 - Simply beautiful. About halfway through, the urgency of the previous tracks finally builds up for the climax, whooshing over you bitterly, sadly, and with almost a sense of determination. Again, it's tragic. You don't hear the lightheartedness of previous tracks, but the slight nudging of a past that doesn't want to haunt: it just wants to resolve itself. To exist.
16. Paul Cantelon, Inside-Out: 10/10 - And it does resolve itself. Here is another bittersweet piece. But this time, it carries a touch of enlightenment (illumination?) with it.
17. Gogol Bordello, Start Wearing Purple: 10/10 - This was the absolutely most perfect song the movie could have ended with. It switches the film seamlessly back into that feel of silly hilarity, single-handedly managing to leave the audience uplifted - a sore necessity for such a partly bleak film!
Overall, one of my favorite soundtracks out there. Whether you've seen the (remarkable) movie or not, get this! It is gorgeous, beautiful, fantastic, powerful, uplifting, and itching to tell you something you've known all your life but just can't quite grasp. In short, a brilliant piece of work.
music.......2007-06-02
does anyone know who sings the last song that plays on the movie trailer?
Interesting.......2007-03-18
Elijah Wood was surprising in his portrayal of the main charecter, who is a bit of a "nebish" or dweeb, and a collector of multitudenous often unthinkable items. His search of his family's past which takes him to the Ukraine, and the people he meets are
funny, amusing and often very moving. It's got a shocking thread to it,
but not without humor. I also liked the surprise ending. The music was great!
Should have won an Academy Award!!!.......2007-03-15
Funny, insightful, emotionally a rolling coaster and a must see.
Anita in Albuquerque Nm ....also a collector
Just Plain Fun.......2007-02-02
One of the best soundtracks to any film I've seen recently. Fun, upbeat, and not overpowering in it's slavicness.

Great songs from a great band.......2007-03-14
I've enjoyed the CD from the day I received it, it's well worth the money
Hit Singles from the Little River Band.......2007-02-14
This album is a slightly pared down version of the original Little River Band "Greatest Hits" album, which had all the songs on this CD plus "It's a Long Way There" and "Down on the Border." According to the official Little River Band web site, neither of these songs were released as singles. On the other hand, every one of the songs on this CD was at least a top 40 song, and most were top 10. I do like "It's a Long Way There," so I prefer the original version of the "Greatest Hits" album over this album, but the highly rated original version of "Greatest Hits" featuring 12 songs is available only in limited quantities; it has been replaced by an 18 song version that is much lower rated, probably because it includes many songs of questionable popularity.
The Little River Band was one of those groups whose music was a presence on my radio in the late 70s and early 80s, and still is on pop-rock and classic rock stations. In general their music is enjoyable middle-of-the-road pop. Some of their songs I consider to be outstanding, such as my favorite, "Cool Change." There are others that are more commercial, but still easy on the brain when you are looking for light rock.
The Little River Band created very good middle-of-the-road rock music in the age of disco. That music was wonderful for those of us who preferred what would eventually be called classic rock. However, the group may have had more success had they not been competing with disco.
If you listen to classic rock or remember the 70s very well, most of these songs will be familiar. Some of my other favorites are "Take it Easy on Me", "Lonesome Loser", and "Reminiscing". These are all middle of the road rock songs, occasionally tending toward light rock.
Little River Band was a product of its time and were one of a number of good groups that always are the music of the moment. Their songs are very listenable and enjoyable. If you like Al Stewart (another under-appreciated and barely remembered artist from this era)and Chicago from the late 70s, you should enjoy this compilation of Little River Band's hits.
Terribly under-rated band.......2007-01-26
I listened to these guys growing up and loved every song on this album. I didn't realize till my 20's that the same band had done all of these songs, because they were pretty different sort of like ELO. Also, it is nice to hear music that isn't angry.
A great 70's cd.......2006-11-10
This is a very good cd for your collection. I have really enjoyed having it in my collection. It sure brings back alot of memories.
Nice for the back Deck.......2006-07-21
I've been wanting a LRB album and thought this one had plenty of the songs I remembered as a kid. This has stayed in the back deck player since I got in in the spring. Great for drinking music with friends:-)

Oldies.......2007-07-13
I always liked Little River Band growing up and it I wanted to hear them again. Some of the songs I don't recognize, but they are great nontheless.
"Take it easy on me ?".......2007-05-25
I used to own the original CD of this and all of the songs were great. I was recently looking through itunes and found this expanded remastered version and downloaded the entire album. Well, it has been about a month since I did that and unfortunately, I had only assumed that all the songs would be the same. Today, I listened to the songs on my ipod and when "Take it easy on me" came on, I couldn't believe my ears. Who is this clown trying to remake the original classic? He sounds awful with his hanging on notes, etc. to make the song his own I guess. I imagined some American Idol performer trying to sing the song when I heard it. AWFUL with a capital A! I don't know who that was that said this was the original because they owned the original LP. Clean out your ears! That was probably one of my favorite LRB songs so imagine my disappointment. Anyway, I deducted a star on my rating because of this.
Little River Band-Greatest Hits.......2007-03-25
Fast service. I had the cassette. The CD is more than I expected. I am in the process of finding a tour date to see them in person.
Not the REAL hits.......2007-02-28
The bottom line is a "Hits" collection should be actual recordings of the songs the way they were presented when they rose to popularity on the charts. Who wants to hear a re-worked version without the original vocalist?
Just for an example: As much as most people love Paul McCartney you all know there would be a "revolution" if he went back and re-recorded the Beatles stuff replacing John and George's vocal tracks with his own, releasing it as a "Beatles Greatest Hits" CD.
I was so disappointed with the re-worked "Take It Easy On Me" that I plan to just get a copy of the original album that it was on. Just my 2 cents.
This is a great collection! The negative reviewers are "confused"........2007-01-26
This collection showcases all three phases of LRB's awesome career. The negative reviews above are from people that don't want to look past 1976. I too am a lifelong fan and have followed this band for 30 years. The album contains the original line-up with all of their best and the middle years when John Farnam & Wayne Nelson were the lead singers. (By the way, "Face in the Crowd" and "We Two" are GREAT songs). The version of "Take it easy on me" is not the orginal as Wayne Nelson sings the entire song, not just the bridge, but IT IS AWESOME! Don't get me wrong, I love Glenn Shorrock's voice, but he left the group in the early 80's and Wayne Nelson, (who began singing lead on many songs in 1981), makes any LRB song his own when he sings with his amazing voice. He is still leading the current line-up and they continue to create the LRB sound better than ever. Check out some "new" arrangements of the classic songs on their newest album "Re-Arranged" (Dec. 06), and you'll understand the quality that this group continues to produce.

Great to Hear All those great Voices from the Past.......2007-07-05
I just wanted to confirm what the first reviewer had to say about this CD. To hear Ethyl Merman, Mary Martin, Andrea McCardle etc. singing their trademark songs brought a lot of memories from the mid-centry musical theater back again. The last song by Glynis Johns is especially poignant.
You certainly can't beat the price!
A Good One!.......2006-11-10
This is a very good CD, mostly because it's the original artists. I've had some that were re-recorded by no name artists that were ghastly. This one is a really good one--including the sound quality. If I had one wish, I would wish it were longer!

"What if Marco Polo had owned tape recorder?" This intriguing concept is raised in the liner notes to this impressive two-CD set, which wanders along ancient Asian trade routes known as the Silk Road. The first disc, Masters & Traditions, deals with formal styles performed by and for sophisticated connoisseurs. Meanwhile, the music on Minstrels and Lovers is played by amateurs who are part of daily life and thus reach a wider audience. The imaginary caravan passes through Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, and Afghanistan, encountering nomads, mystics, and bards along the way. The instruments are scratchy, pungent, and/or serene, while the singers weave a potent spell out of a millennium's worth of slow-changing rural and urban vistas. In the opening essay, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, the project's artistic director, pleads for intercultural communication and empathy. This compilation provides an exotic, brave, entertaining first step in that direction. --Christina Roden

What if Marco Polo had owned a tape recorder? And what if his epic travels along the Silk Road had taken place not at the end of the 13th century, but at the beginning of the 21st? Far-fetched conjectures to be sure, but our compilation The Silk Road: A Musical Caravan offers a glimpse of the rich musical life that an intrepid and curious traveler like Marco Polo might find in the lands of the Silk Road today.
Customer Reviews:
Be a Marco Polo of music.......2007-05-06
Its rather difficult to review this in the regular like it/don't like it way. This is the endemic music of the people along the silk road the runs across Asia. Some of it sounds very strange compared to Western music, like study for an Anthropology course, while some of it very enjoyable.
Northern Exposure.......2007-03-30
This anthology is an outstanding survey of the northern section of the so-called Silk Road, taking us from Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Iran, through Uzbekistan, southern Siberia, China, and finally to Japan, but not in order, as the CD set is organized instead by category of musical function and the localities seem random. Although there are significant gaps in the styles, and I particularly miss the sweet lyric songs of Kyrgyz women, the powerful mugham voice of Qasimov of Azerbaijan, and more examples of the kylkobyz fiddle of Kzakhstan, the set provides a fine introduction of the musics of inner Asia and particularly the instruments. A glossary of instruments is provided, but unfortunately their images are often lacking. All the examples are short by necessity, when many traditional pieces are far longer in duration. For the uninitiated, it will take repeated listening to distinguish the uniqueness of timbre and rhythm from one land to the other; but this similarity of sounds helps demonstrate the role of the trade routes in sharing instruments and styles, such that the Japanese biwa, the Chinese pipa, and the Arabic oud all are related. If you want to attain some feel for the musics of inner Asia, then certainly these disks will meet the requirement.
Sparse Great Songs.......2007-03-29
Some of the pieces on the first cd are "take away" great.
The secound cd is ...
I enjoy "world culture" music and sound however, the secound cd in this double collection was a monotonous let down.
The Silk Road: A Musical Caravan.......2007-01-03
Thank you for this part of my research on Central Asia.
Like an Exotic Journey.......2005-08-06
This is the ultimate World Music collection. It features authentic sounds from vastly diverse cultures, assembled in such a way that they don't clash, they flow along like a caravan journey. If you're looking for familiar tunes, this isn't for you. But if you'd like to expand your musical horizons, I highly recommend it.

Customer Reviews:
Fabulous for any Broadway-lover.......2007-01-30
Packs into 5 CD's a sampling of Broadway tunes from the 20's thru (almost) today, mostly from original cast recordings. Includes not just well-known hits, but also some lesser-known gems. Sound quality is first rate, booklet is informative too. Have given this as a gift to several friends with rave reviews.
Top Shelf.......2007-01-04
This is THE definitive collection of Broadway hits. I have other collections, and none of them measure up. A great deal of care was obviously taken in compiling and presenting this box set. It covers a lot of ground, starting with some long-forgotten but still very enjoyable hits from the days of yore, and finishing with present-day favorites. To the best of my knowledge, the recordings are by those who made them famous. You won't be disappointed.
TERRIFIC CD'S.......2006-03-23
THESE BROADWAY MUSICALS CD'S ARE A BROADWAY LOVERS DREAM. WITH EACH SONG, MEMORIES COME FLOODING BACK. BOTH THE FAMILIAR AND THE FORGOTTEN SONGS ARE A TRUE LISTENING PLEASURE. IF YOU LIKE BROADWAY, YOU'LL LOVE THIS SET.
Great Collection of Broadways greatest Songs .......2005-06-14
This Collection was perfectly made it has almost all the most famous Broadway songs on this 5 cd set. The Music is great and has Broadways greatest treasures like "Memory""People""With One Look""Give my regards Too Broadway" just to name a few of this numerous cd set with over 100 songs. This is a great buy if you like musicals or The music of Broadway
Great Compilation!.......2005-01-17
If you are a fan of the Broadway Musicals, this is a collection that you should purchase. Since I got the 5 disc set I've enjoyed listening to it. The majority of the songs are done by the original singers. The collection is priceless considering that you will have over 100 songs from popular musicals since the beginning of Broadway

Customer Reviews:
LRB.......2007-01-16
Little River Band played here last summer and brought back many memories from the past! So I ordered this CD and enjoy it thoroughly!
Smooth Harmony.......2006-04-01
My era was Sinatra, Como, Crosby. Then Kingston Trio early 60's in SF. Don't know how I missed LRB. Arrangement, harmony, writing, rhythm. Definitive Collection has it!
Not appreciably better than the other "Greatest HIts" collections.......2005-09-16
Just how many times can a major record label reshuffle, recycle and reissue the same mediorcre material? Capitol Records decided to find out by presenting us with the 2005 release "The Definitive Collection" from Australia's Little River Band.
Lest you have forgotten, the Little River Band made several decent records during a pretty dreary period for popular music in the late 70's and early 1980's. Everyone recalls at least a couple of their hits including "Cool Change", "Lonesome Loser" and their huge #3 smash from 1978 "Reminiscing". That one has always been my personal favorite. These tunes and couple of others have gone on to become staples on so-called "lite" rock radio stations. But when was the last time you heard some of the groups other hits like "The Night Owls" or "Take It Easy On Me" on the radio. Not recently I suspect. To me, these and many other songs by the Little River Band were quite forgettable tunes. That is not to say that there are not some other enjoyable tunes in this collection. Among the 19 tracks on this disc I particularly enjoyed "Help Is On The Way" and the groups 1983 hit "We Too". That tune was not included in a previous "Greatest Hits" package that I currently own and for some reason I was not familiar with it at all.
As I stated earlier if you already own one of the other "Greatest Hits" packages that Capitol has released in the past I see absolutely no reason to run out and purchase "The Definitive Collection". It is not much of an upgrade. To my ear there is a lot of "filler" included here. Even if you are a big time fan of Little River Band you will likely be disappointed by the total lack of any kind of liner notes. In addition, I found that the sound quality on this disc to be about the same as that on my vinyl "Greatest Hits" LP. If you do not already own music by the Little River Band than this is probably a pretty good buy. But the rest of us would do well to pass on this one. Very disappointing.
Little River Band's Definitive Collection.......2005-09-13
All their biggest hits, plus a bit of "filler", makes this their best "best of" collection (IMHO). One of my all-time favorite bands, still fresh sounding and relevent. Includes most of their outstanding "Sleeper Catcher" album. A must-have for the car!
Really great.......2005-09-10
This LRB compilation is very well done, it has all the important songs and great sound. It brings back SO many memories. So many great songs, I love it! If you buy one LRB compilation, make it this one!

Customer Reviews:
not to great.......2007-04-04
We were disappointed with this CD, but for the price I guess we can't expect much. I didn't care for the new style presentation of the songs. I like a more traditional rendering.
Not so bad, 100 tunes for 4$.......2005-06-22
I red the comments of two other people who have bought this 4 CD BOX SET and it is not really so bad. I will even add that there are some excellent tunes. However, I must agree with the fact that few tunes seem to have been recorded 40 or 50 years ago, mainly when you hear the scratches of an old turntable but it is just 2 or 3 tunes. Furthermore, if you do not know American music, it is a good BOX SET to buy if you consider that you received 4 CD for 4$ including 100 tunes. On these 4 CD, I have heard some orchestration that I have never heard before and I consider that they are different but interesting. Any way, after hearing these 100 tunes, you will say to yourself that you like this tune, this other tune, this other tune and so on and you will be able to buy a more expensive CD with the tunes that you like. However, I have bought many CDs in the last few weeks and as you know, there are always some tunes that you like and some tunes that you do not like on every CD that you will buy. So, don't buy it at 25$ but at 4 or 5$ dollars, it is a very good choice for 100 tunes.
You get what you pay for........2004-07-04
You get what you pay for. The singers put their own spin on the singing of each song. If you didn't hear the words you would not recognize some of them. Even some of the music sounds like a bad recording of music played on a turntable. Definitely not worth the price.
Now I know why there were no song samples to listen to ..........2004-07-04
I wish this review had been here when I was thinking of purchasing it. I guess you get what you pay for. If you are thinking of buying this, you are better off recording your own CDs (or at least buying one that you can listen to a sampling of the songs). This album includes songs that were mere recordings of the songs playing on an old record player. It's almost so unbelievable that it is funny.

Long Time to Find "A Long Way There".......2003-05-12
I looked for a very long time trying to find the extended version of "Long Way There" on other sources, but finally resorted to puchasing this album. It's a hard one to find, and Amazon was the only place I did find it finally. I'm not sure its worth the price of the entire CD for just one song, but it is one of my six all-time favorite rockers, so I bought it. Not real thrilled with the rest of the cuts, but to each his own.
The Debut Little River Band album.......2001-06-25
The first album recorded by the Australian Little River Band is probably their finest apart from their second album After Hours. Prior to their MOR/Pop personna of the 80's this album has their original rock/jazz/country fusion laced with impressive harmonies. Along with Mellencamps' Scarecrow and Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road a must have for an album collection.
Little River Band's debut album.......2000-09-20
LRB's first album has great harmony vocals and some good guitar work. The fact that it has the original version of "It's A Long Way There" makes it worth the price, which is incredibly low considering this is an import. Other good songs are "Meanwhile...", "Emma", and "I Know It".
Little River Bands first album has good tracks throughout........2000-05-31
This first album of Little River Band shows how vital Beeb Birtles was to the bands harmonies. It has the classic long version of "It's a Long Way There" as well as "Statue of Liberty","I'll Always Call Your Name"and "Emma". A bright album of classic 1970's pop.

Disappointing.......2006-11-13
For real LRB fans, the fact that this CD contains an far-too-short edited version of "It's a Long Way There" is reason enough to avoid this one. That cut was their magnum opus - how disappointing to have it truncated.
Mellow Rock At Its Best.......2006-09-16
This is mellow rock at its best. I have always liked anything The Little River Band has put out. My favorite tracks are Lonesome Loser, Reminiscing, Lady, Happy Anniversary, Help Is On Its Way and The Night Owls. These are truly LRB gems. They are a true down to earth band with a big sound to them. Reminiscing is about a man who wants his girl to go walking through the park with him and reminiscing about all the good times they had together. Happy Anniversary is about a man wishing his wife a Happy Anniversary and he can't get her off his mind. These two are true love songs. Lady is another love song. This man is telling his wife or girlfriend that he loves her reguardless of what she thinks. Lonesome Loser is about a man who has lost at love and he is very lonesome for affection and he can't get it. All in all The Little River Band will always be one of my favorite bands.
Reminiscing Good Ol' Late 70s Rock.......2005-12-17
Little River Band is one of the earliest Aussie bands that made huge success in US charts during 70s though early 80s. Particularly late 70s hit sensation was remarkable. I can say this compilation is a nice proof how the musicians of the era created excellent songs still memorable to music fans. CD version from '82 original greatest hits has less tracks than the recent extended version. Yet 12-track version is more than enough for you to enjoy their music. Because all 12 songs are so great.
Among their great songs I would pick...
REMNISCING: This nostalgic hit no doubt represents their entire music career. Also one of the most hard-to-remember-title songs.
LONESOME LOSER: A touch of Styx or Kansas dramatic progressive hard rock style. I used to misrecongnize this song as Kansas's CARRY ON WAYWARD SON.(Introducing part is so similar).
TAKE IT EASY ON ME: Feel of westcoast rock, somewhat Eagles or Jackson Browne styled.
LADY: Masterpiece ballad track that can easily rival Eagles and Abba.
Verdict: Shorter than recent version but still keeps core hits.
Rating: 92 out of 100
Recommended: Anyone who like late 70s rock. Particularly Eagles, Doobie Brothers, and some of Styx fans.
little river band (digitally remastered).......2004-03-06

Who Were These Guys?.......2002-07-27
I originally purchased this album because I remembered a couple of songs, and I got it for a really good price. Then, as I listened to the CD, I realized that I had heard most of the songs on this CD. That's when it hit me that the Little River Band was one of those groups whose music had been a presence on my radio in the late 70s and early 80s, and still are on pop-rock and classic rock stations, and I'd just never paid much attention to the music other than thinking how listenable it was.
The music is good, which at first might make you wonder why the Little River Band isn't one of rock's greats. Part of the problem may have been that they were in the right place at the wrong time. The Little River Band was churning out rock music in the age of disco. Bad timing/good timing. Bad timing because they had decent music that, while having an occasional flavor of disco, remained pop-rock. Good timing because those of us that weren't disco fans were listening to the alternatives, Little River Band being one of those.
If you listen to classic rock or remember the 70s very well, most of these songs will be familiar. My favorites are "Cool Change", "Take it Easy on Me", "Lonesome Loser", and "Reminiscing". These are all middle of the road rock songs, occasionally tending toward light rock.
Are these great rock songs? No. Little River Band was a product of its time, and had little effect on the direction of rock music, and were one of a number of good musicians that always are the music of the moment. However, the songs are very listenable and enjoyable. If you like Al Stewart (another under-appreciated and barely remembered artist from this era)and Chicago from the late 70s, you should enjoy this compilation of Little River Band's hits.
