One Solo Each..........2001-03-12
'9012live - The Solos' is like 'Fragile' live and in the Rabin phase. Two great live versions of '90125' songs (luckily NOT including 'Owner Of A Lonely Heart'), and five solo pieces, each of them interesting, and the best being the long closing act 'Whitefish'.
The downsides are that the record is too short and impossible to find on CD.
Pretty cool........2000-08-10
9012Live The Solos is pretty good. I've had this one for quite a while and find it to be listenable. There are a total of seven tracks. Five of the tracks are individual member concert solos, and the other two are songs from 90125. The tracks were recorded in Edmonton, Canada and Dortmund, Germany. My favorite ones are "Hold on" and "Solly's Beard." I consider the live version of "Hold on" to be quite impressive. Trevor Rabin's instrumental "Solly's Beard" is very good and meticulous, also. The rest of the tracks are satisfying, too. 9012Live The Solos is a nice album to have. It's worth a listen.
9012Live-The Solos.......2000-05-14
Definitely a Yes afficondio album...but well worth the listen! Jon Andersons solo of "Soon" is truly amazing. And Trevor Rabin's guitar solo is equally appealing...Too bad one cannot find more of Trevor's material in recorded format. The last tune "Whitefish" the band gets really rockin! I would still recommend this album even to the casual Yes fan.

Short release, only a few tunes, but get it if only for Trevor Rabin's solo Solly's Beard. It's the only cd I know of where you'll find it. It's not on the YesYears box-set. What a rippin solo. Other than die-hard YES fans though, not much mainstream appeal to this one. Squire's Amazing Grace was his standard bass solo through the 80's and early 90's. Pretty cool if you've never heard it before.

Customer Reviews:
Nice album but remastering has flaws.......2005-12-10
90125 is quite a nice album from Yes, but it is a little bit too commercial for me. The sound of this remastered version is quite detailed, but as all my other HDCD's quite aggressive in the high frequencies. Also the mastering is way too loud (as lots of (remastered) CD's nowadays), limiting the dynamic range, which is soo important for the music of Yes.
Nice packaging, so-so sound.......2003-11-12
Other people seem happy enough with this remastering, and I'll admit that it does *certain things* better than the generic, '80s-mastered Atco CD. It's louder, yes (many computer programs can make my music louder!), and the low end is very solid and more pronounced--and, to my ears, pleasingly so.
But even with proper HDCD decoding, the resolution is nowhere near as good as I'd like it to be--the high frequencies are hashy and over-equalized, to the point of totally obscuring the midrange (a common quality of Japanese mastering: filtering everything through a V-shaped curve to hype the bass and treble).
Other listeners comment on the "detail" to be found here. Yes, it's "bright"--with that much treble emphasis, it's bound to sound more tinkly and detailed. But it sure isn't musical! If you love this album, as we all seem to, and if this isn't a huge expense for you, go ahead and pick it up. But don't expect the kind of freshness, openness, and additional musical clarity that comes from quality remastering jobs like the recent Rush remasters.
worth every penny!.......2003-04-24
wow! while it hurt to fork over the money for this CD, it was money well spent. the sound is simply amazing! 90125 ranks somewhere in my top ten fave CDs of all time, but i always thought the quality of the original U.S. CD release was rather poor. so i made do with cranking up the volume to make up for the lack of oomph.
well, i will still have to crank my stereo, but this time out of pure joy at being able to fully experience this recording. it is a veritable feast for the ears!
the only negative is the "original" album style packaging. yes, it evokes a feeling of nostalgia, but makes handling the CD a bit tricky. however, this is a minor flaw.
Yes, it's worth it!.......2002-09-08
For anyone who's a fan of this early-80s gem, this import is a must. Those responible for this remastering and its limited-edition packaging were staggeringly anal-retentive, and provided me with two epiphanies in the process:
First, as has already been stated here, the sonic improvements are phenomenal. Aside from the increase in overall volume level compared to the current US pressing, there is tons more sonic detail. The highs sizzle and sparkle like never before, and the lows are freshly palpable in a way that the original mastering job just can't hold a candle to. This, of course, was what drew me to this edition in the first place.
But the second epiphany was the packaging. Now, those of you who didn't grow up with the vinyl edition of this album (like I did) won't care about this at all, I'm sure. But the producers endeavored to duplicate the qualities of the original vinyl edition as practically as the less-than-50% scale would allow. First, the outer (cardboard) sleeve is a precise replica of the original art: front, back, and even spine. Inside, along with an inner sleeve (like a vinyl record would have, except that it's made of some funky textured material) and a rather thick lyrics booklet (in English and Japanese), is another precise replica of the original 12" liner, with the lyrics printed to scale... you WILL need a microscope. Finally, the label on the disc itself precisely mimics the label used on the old records.
All in all, given the 21st century mastering job, and the clever homage to the original packaging, this is an uncanny presentaton for the Yes collector (they only made 5,000 of these) or audiophile. Highly recommended.
A classic made even better!.......2002-05-19
This High-definition re-master is truly spectacular.
One can be forgiven for assuming that the previous 1990 edition would have been about as good as it could get. Not so!
This new 2001 re-master and HDCD encoding process developed by Pacific Microsonics in Japan captures a far greater dynamic range and yields subtle sonic detail that is much closer to the original master tape.
The results are truly amazing. Even if you don't have a HDCD decoder in your player.
The original cardboard LP sleeve and artwork are reproduced in miniature form. Very cute!
Yes-heads - brace yourselves! You've never heard it this good!!!

False advertising.......2004-10-13
This CD has come in several different options. There is the basic CD, and then there are different limited editions with different extras. I got the "Limited Tour Edition". Mine has 2 CD's. The first CD is the complete album with some enhanced features: Demo of Homeworld PC game and a Yes screensaver plus an interview. The second CD contains 2 audio tracks from the 1999 concert tour (Homeworld and The Messanger) and video (parts of All Good People).
I am so mad that I bought this CD. I believed the advertising that this was the return to the "classic" Yes of Fragile and Close to the Edge. I wouldn't have minded if it was even a return to 90125, as long as it had good songs on it. Most most of the songs are boring and bad.
This is from 1999. Yes consists of Anderson, Squire, Howe, White, Billy Sherwood, and Igor Khoroshev on keyboards. The original, basic CD has 10 songs and is 60 minutes long.
Many people think that Homeworld is a great track. It does resemble some of Yes's classic, rambling epics, like Close to the Edge. But I don't think it is that good. It is a choppy mess with poor transitions. It probably would have been better if it was stretched out a little more. The live version on the second CD is much better than the original studio version. I think that since the group has to play it all at once in the live version, without having any studio edits, makes the whole thing flow better.
The Messanger is a tribute to Bob Marley. Yes taking on Raggae, what a joke. Again, the live version is a little better than the studio version.
To Be Alive might be a good song if it weren't for that horrible chorus (Hep Yadda). It Will Be A Good Day, If Only You Knew and Nine Voices are all boring ballads with Anderson just droning on. There are some instances where his voice can be great, and others where it grates.
What is good on this CD are tracks 3, 4 and 5. They feature some interesting percussion, similar to the Patrick Moraz days.
The video of All Good People is downright funny. The video of the band is not very flattering. They look like an over the hill Las Vegas lounge act. The video is not very well filmed. The camera concentrates on Howe during Squire's bass guitar solo (maybe because Squire didn't want the camera focusing on him in his white suit).
Perfect !.......2000-10-24
Well, I will try to be short in my comments. Yes is my favorite band in the world, and I think that it's not difficult to see that. I like the sound of Yes a lot, mainly of Jon Anderson's voice. I has almost cds from Yes and I always hear them. Of course has my favorite ones, among them, Close to the Edge, Relayer, Tormato (it is true, to mention some. The Ladder is a great cd, wonderful from beginning to end, and I consider it one of the best. That is a special version, with some live tracks, therefore indispensable for the fans of Yes. Particularly I like Homeworld a lot, Lightning Strikes, It will be Good Day, that doesn't mean that the another are not good, but that is my favorite ones. If you are in doubts it of which cd of Yes to buy to begin a collection or even for you know them, that is one of the good ones. Enjoy it.
the return of the REAL yes.......2000-09-28
This is the album that show us the inspiration and the love and imagination in the biggest expression, it's also the return of the beast of the prog. rock... they are back with the best album and the best line up since "close to the edge" Also is very romantic in order they have lost they producer-star, the other yes member... so he dies a few days it's finished so it's charged with lots of emmotive passages trught worlds of magic and peace and love and lots of climax and travels arround a world that can only exists in an artist's mind and his heart... This is best album in ten years of yes music...is the definitive stone in this monumental structure of music... yes is the biggest, the more beauty and the more expressive in prog. music...take a moment and open your heart and listen this album... you can be surprised. Enjoy!!!!

Spanish dance music superstars - buy it for 2 songs alone!!!.......2002-12-28
The group had two MAJOR 80's eurodisco hits, produced by MODERN TALKING's/BLUE SYSTEM's co-producer LUIS RODRIGUES. The songs "Fantasy Boy", and "Touch Me", were massive, MASSIVE hits on import to the USA and produced in Germany.
If you like the above songs, or anything by FANCY, or BAD BOYS BLUE; then this is for you (for these two songs along - both extended mixes are included).
Jason Davis
Rerecorded remixes.......2001-05-20
"Best of-die highlights" contains bad 80's and 90's remixes of Baccara songs.
Music with a freshness of a red rose..........2000-06-18
This album was originally released in the 70's here in India, and was extremely popular for it's rich musical rhythm and lyrics, at times even over shadowing the popularity of Boney M. The lead female vocalists have a soft silky texture to their voices with an extraordinary sensous appeal. Unfortunately the album has not been available in the recent past. Therefore it has been such a delightful surprise that this album is now available in your store. As this album is ageless in its content, I strongly recommend this album to anyone who enjoys soft sensous music. You will never be disppointed, for sure.
