Already on the radio nationwide, Blitz' first single, "If Ozzy Was My Dad (That Would Rock!)," is featured on the "Osbournes Phenomenon Special," and the second season of the MTV hit show.

Teen titans Aly & AJ don't sound like Heart, the powerhouse sister act whose hall-of-famer footsteps they hope to follow in, but it doesn't feel like an exaggeration to say they have as much talent. With their flowing blond hair, cool clothes, and gift for hitting the hype machine at just the right fame-boosting angles, they could easily carve out a career on somebody else's lyrics and a lame-o delivery. But the sisters Michalka have a lot more integrity than that: If Insomniatic, goes to show the pop-buying world anything, it's that not all youth-targeted acts deserve their featherweight reputations. The title track rocks hard, "Bullseye" borrows a Replacements vibe, and opener "Potential Breakup Song" pumps in pleasingly synth-y rhythms and sweet-heat attitude. Slighter tracks, including "Silence" and "I'm Here," showcase a sympathetic ear for teenage romantic tribulations, but overall Insomniatic is not for the drowsy--Aly & AJ are doing musical No-Doz for a new generation, and they're doing it right. 4 out of 5 stars great second cd........2007-07-16

I thought that Aly & AJ's first cd was good but I was always a little hesitant about liking it. With this second album of theirs Insomniatic I feel immediately in love with it. Ever since I got it I haven't stopped listening to it. They mix ballads, with pop dance, and I love it.

5 out of 5 stars Insomniatic.......2007-07-15

This is another fabulous Aly and Aj Cd. I absolutly love the songs on this cd and every Aly and Aj fan even if you don't already know about their music should definently buy this cd. It is so totaly awesome

2 out of 5 stars Disappointed........2007-07-15

If you're looking for a great Aly & AJ album, I suggest buying their debut album "Into The Rush" instead. If you're looking for a bland, slow album, then Insomniatic is for you.

I'm disappointed. How could Aly & AJ make such a hit with "Rush" and such a flop with "Insomniatic." I got this album mainly because of Potentional Breakup Song. No other songs on this album come close to being as fun as "PBS."

Save your money and buy "Into The Rush" (2005/2006) by Aly & AJ.

There are some good songs on Insomniatic, but I'm in love with every single song on "Into The Rush."

5 out of 5 stars I like it. Donning dark glasses.......2007-07-13

As a $! year old adult, I probably wouldn't volunteer that I'm an Aly & AJ fan. But, it's a fun and poppy album. It's more mature than Into The Rush, but hopefully they are more mature now as well. We seem to expect our young stars to stay young forever. Let them grow up and test the musical waters.

5 out of 5 stars Just another musician's opinion.......2007-07-13

When I first heard their new single from this album, "The Potential Breakup Song" I was like, 'what in the world...' but the more I listened to it... it grew on me and now I really like it.
Aly and A.J have definitely matured with this album. Not only in the style of music, but in their lyrics and voices as well. This album showcases their talent in both singing and songwriting.
This album is a well put together collection of upbeat songs, slow songs, fun songs, somewhat deep songs, and you can tell through the lyrics that this album is more personal than 'Into the Rush'. This album takes on more of a rock genre feel to it than their debut album, but they pull it off successfully.

Some people give them grief saying that this album is not suitable for young children and that they have lost their status as role models, but the truth is that I don't agree. Yes, their lyrics have matured to the point where it may unsuitable for very young children, but at least they are able to express themselves without using profanity unlike many artists today or sing about sex, one night stands, and cheating and appear in provocative music videos in bed with guys, etc. like another Disney Channel alumnus Hilary Duff. These girls are what, 16 and 18 years old? or something along that range? Although the Disney Channel is targeted towards children, the fact is that these girls are not children and as musicians have the right and need to express themselves on a level appropriate for them and their age.

I must admit, I was a bit apprehensive about this album, but it is better and so much more than I had expected. Brava to the girls on a job well done and in avoiding the sophomore slump!

4 out of 5 stars Solid Emo-Pop.......2007-07-13

Plain White T's delivers a solid cd of emo & pop-punk tracks. My favorites include "It's Our Time", "Making a Memory", and "Hey There Delilah". The best aspect of this cd, to me, is the perfect "warm-weather drive"-ness. It is an excellent cd for rolling all the windows down and singing along with when you are driving about. Every track has a great sing-along aspect. It has catchy, upbeat songs, and a few slower acoustics. It's a very enjoyable cd, but nothing groundbreaking or remarkable that sets it apart. For the current price ($9.99), there is no harm in picking it up and keeping it in the cd case for those summer days!

2 out of 5 stars such a let down.......2007-07-04

Okay, so I bought this album based on "Hey There Delilah". I know, I know. What can I say? It's a simple, fun little ditty. When I saw it was a "bonus track", I briefly considered the possibility that this is the little lyrical accoustic after-thought to an album full of bland power chords and blander lyrics. Then I said, "No, this'll be good."

Nope. As I desperately sought for another song with some hint of originality or depth (track 12 coming the closest), my girlfriend aptly said, "They sound like a high school band."

Fifteen regrettable dollars lighter, I pause to pontificate on what it is people hear in this kind of bland music. Perhaps it is just the MTV teen girls with their parents' disposable income who think they're cute and really don't care what they're listening to, so long as it's cool. This album is so derivative and bland - both musically and lyrically. Is there some rule that rock artists who break into major formats can't incorporate interesting instruments (violins, digeridoos, flutes, etc...) or drift from repetitive power chords? Are these artists forbidden by market demands to write anything but navel-gazing songs about their own seemingly uninteresting lives? Why can't they look at the world beyond and comment on something that actually matters - war, the environment, greed, whatever? Green Day finally did it and that seemed to work out pretty well for them - grammy wins, record sales, and peer respect.

I don't know - I look at exciting newer artists who are bending the rules of instrumentation, lyrical exploration, and styles like Bright Eyes and Xavier Rudd, and they don't have a tenth of the exposure this band now has. Then, on the other side of the coin, I consider older artists that have maintained a musical and lyrical creativity for decades like Springsteen, Van Morrison, and (though a few decades lighter) Ben Harper. How does music this bland break into the big time when there's so much better work out there struggling to exist? Even outside the music realm, there's an incredible number of really intelligent, creative thinkers pushing the boundaries of human thought, and still this is the drivel that rises to the top. There's either something deeply wrong with the music industry or extremely unspiring embedded in the public to which they cater.

3 out of 5 stars Nothing new.......2007-06-15

This cd is completely average. I'd call it bland, but that seems a bit harsh. They aren't doing anything original with this album. I feel like I've heard all these songs before with other bands/music, and they're relying on too many power chords. It's likable for a few plays, but it's also easily forgettable. It's the complete middle of the road - not exactly bad but not really great either.
And to the guy who said he didn't like it but his girlfriend did... I'm a girl, and I don't find anything special here.

3 out of 5 stars To emoish for a guy like me.......2007-06-07

As said before, this band sounds like another emo band. I liked emo when it was more underground, but for the past years I got to say it has turned out very bad, with every other band trying to copy each other. Plain White T's is an example of that. Though some songs sound great, some other songs just sound boring and not exciting. This album sometimes sound as if the inspiration to make this album was Fall Out Boy, and the Academy is... I am not a big fan of those two bands, and I guess that is why I disliked most of the songs. Also, BEWARE of the powerchords on this album, there are to much in here that just do not make the CD enjoyable to listen too, almost 90% of the songs consists of this.
I rated this cd 4 stars though, cause the chick I go out with likes this album or else I would rate it a 2 [Lucky PWT]. So I am assuming chicks probably like this music, and if you want to get an emo chick [hopefully thats not overweight] then this is the cd you should get. But for a guy's taste, this cd is just weird to be listening while you are hanging out with your friends.
I think I said all I had to say.

3 out of 5 stars 3-1/2 stars -- If you hate emo, skip this review.......2007-05-14

Plain White T's are another one of those punk-pop bands whose first few albums went unnoticed, but then their recent material got picked up by MTV, thus giving them some exposure. I say "some" because few people seem to own Every Second Counts, but I decided to check it out anyway.

I really didn't think I would like this album all that much because the only song I ever heard from them was the aptly titled "Hate (I Really Don't Like You)". But there are much better songs than that, particularly the first two tracks: "Our Time Now" and "Come Back to Me". And while the acoustic "Write You a Song" is passable, an even better choice would be "Hey There Delilah", a revamped track from the EP of the same name.

But then there's the dud track "Friends Don't Let Friends Dial Drunk", as well as a couple of lyrically challenged songs: "You and Me" and "Figure It Out" (which is indeed hard to figure out: "I'll figure it out as soon as I figure it out"?). Basically, while Every Second Counts isn't a waste of time, the guys should do something to make themselves stand out more because right now they'll probably be considered as one of those "other" emo bands.

This soundtrack to the hit TV series starts off with a melancholy ballad by Denver's the Fray (fittingly titled "How to Save a Life"), but the well-curated CD isn't all thoughtful adult alt-rock--reflecting the series' mood changes, it offers a wide range of modern sounds. In addition to the expected acoustical numbers (in this case, from Anya Marina, KT Tunstall, and Snow Patrol's live version of "Chasing Cars"), the album reaches across genres and continents to offer the sunny-'60s-pop vibe of Jim Noir's "I Me You," Jamie Lidell's electro-jazzy "Multiply," the edgy punky-pop aggro of Metric, the rambunctious "Sexy Mistake" from the Chalets, and the winning singalong misanthropy of singer-songwriter Foy Vance's "I Hate Everyone." Ursula 1000's Alex Gimeno lightens up the proceedings with one of his trademark upbeat, hip-gyrating numbers (which seems to pay tribute to Serge Gainsbourg's "Comic Strip"), while the Moonbabies' sweet, swirling harmonies deliver the kind of perfectly crafted pop we've come to expect from the Swedes. If this compilation turns people on to these deserving acts, it will have done its job. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

4 out of 5 stars GREY'S SOUNDTRACK CD.....A WINNER.......2007-06-27

Like anything associated with this great show, Volume 2 of the Grey's Anatomy Soundtrack is great. But not as great as listening to the music while watching the show simultaneously, I'm afraid. The music is unique, creative and non-trendy. All pluses. Unfortunately, the soundtrack CD's of Grey's Anatomy do not contain pop-up images of Drs. Shepherd, Blake and Karev! ):

2 out of 5 stars not at all what I hoped.......2007-06-25

My wife and I are big fans of Grey's and the music we hear on the show. I dont know if the cd just doesnt fit without the show in the foreground, but we both were very disappointed at this CD.

5 out of 5 stars Great Selection of Artists.......2007-05-15

The music complimented the show, but can truly stand on its own merits. I felt the same way about the Touched By An Angel soundtracks too.

4 out of 5 stars Grey's Anatomy, Vol. 2 was all I hoped for.......2007-05-13

There are some songs on this album that I play over and over. The Fray's "How to Save a Life", Gomez's "How We Operate", Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars". I knew I wanted those. There were surprise faves too, like Jamie Lidell and The Moonbabies. All the moody stuff that underlies the heartbreak scenes, as well as the quirky, upbeat songs that make the show watchable. I'll probably end up buying Vol. 1 and whatever comes next.

5 out of 5 stars Well worth it! .......2007-05-07

Wonderful cd with a wide variety of songs from upbeat to slow, from angry and heavy metal-ish to soft and reflective. I bought this cd because of a couple songs I knew I liked (Chasing Cars, How to Save a Life) and discovered some others that I have fallen in love with. "Grace" is my new favorite - an incredibly beautiful piece of music with deep truth in the lyrics.

In the most dignified way possible, "Dignity"--the title track to this fizz-bomb of a dance-pop disc--sends a disgusted eye-roll and a flagrant puh-lease to underwear-eschewing celebutantes everywhere: "You'd show up to the opening of an envelope," sings Duff, who hangs onto her signature sweetness despite having entered full-on diss mode. "It's not news when you've got a new bag/It's not news when you're looking your best/Come on, give it a rest." Well said. And sung. Not that calling out the phony and the full of it is what Duff, or Dignity, is all about. Mostly, the disc is a beat-studded chronicling of an incredibly healthy 19-year-old psyche: On "Happy," she's happy despite an ex's attempts to make her miserable; on "With Love"--maybe her catchiest, most grown-up song to date--she's willing to accept rejection as long as kindness plays a role in its delivery. Musically, with the help of groove-conscious producers like Tim & Bob and Will.i.am, Duff edges ever closer to adult sensibilities; her goofball Lizzie McGuire days seem far behind. It's an evolution anybody could have seen coming, actually. Has there ever been a starlet with her head on straighter? --Tammy La Gorce

5 out of 5 stars Great CD, Uplifting message.......2007-07-11

I read somewhere that this was her fourth disc, I had never listened to an entire cd by her before, but the title got my attention, and it is the theme for the whole album, there are no out of place tracks here, she helps you to think, and makes the tracks electronic, which I can work out to on the treadmill, but I must say the standout song on this cd is No Work All Play, she sounds wise beyond her years, expressing that life is about more than just having a good time, having balance and getting to know yourself is more important. She encourages the listener to keep trying, even when it is difficult at times, the journey will help a person gain wisdom and grow stronger. Thank you Ms. Duff, it was an encouraging ride

5 out of 5 stars THE BEST OF ALL OF THEM!.......2007-07-09

i love all of hilary's cds, but this one is my favorite! my favorite songs are "dignity", "with love", "gypsy woman", and "happy". all the songs are great, but those are the best. "dignity" automaticly made me think of paris hilton (who i think is a spoiled brat) and "happy" is the song i would assoiate with a break up to say that you are so over the guy. it's words are like she's talking to someone (most likely Joel) "i'm happy and i know that makes you mad/after all the things you put me through/i'm finally gettin' over you. it's an over all great album and i would highly recomend it for hilary fans and first time listeners of all ages!

5 out of 5 stars Duff and stuff........2007-06-28

I've been very happy with Hilary's CD I feel shes grown up the most out of the kids who have come off of disnay around the time she had and started singing. I feel she can still get better though. Alot of dance feeling to the music. I like the dvd on the special edition, atleast for the music videos. I can't wait to see Hilary grow up more and make better albums.

4 out of 5 stars Duff perks up.......2007-06-20

This album is much more of a dance, kinda techno at times album than Hilary's former albums, which were light pop stuff. Hilary wrote or at least co-wrote most all the songs on here, so this album is very much hers. Hilary does display a maturing and pulls off her new style pretty well. She's not the strongest singer, which is likely gonna keep her from ever getting 5 stars, but this is a very listenable, enjoyable album. But this is a strong 4 stars, especially after the listener lets it grow on him/her a bit. I found myself hardly ever impatient to hit the skip button while listening from start to finish. The album has energy and the songs have a good beat. There are fun lyrics too. The songs:

Stranger - the singer doesn't really know her man, he hides things

Dignity - a knock on celebrities who live by the motto of "there's no such thing as bad publicity."

With Love - catchy dance number

Danger - singer is involved with older man, wonders if he'll be good forher in long run

Gypsy Woman - a warning to a man about another woman, she could get him in trouble

Never Stop - very quick, catchy dance tune, hit the repeat button

No Work, All Play - kind of a lighthearted, playful tune

Between You and Me

Dreamer - directed toward the overly obsessed fan, amusing lyrics: "I go to bed and I wake up, isn't that exciting?" Rightly points out these people need to get lives.

Happy - directed at lover who jilted singer. If it were up to him, she'd just be miserable all day, but she's not going to do that.

Burned

Outside of You

I Wish

Play with Fire - fun, kinda steamy dance number, but never crass

I ran across a link to stream this album before it's release, and I wasn't a big fan of BB before, but I figured why not? Make my friend jealous I heard it and he didn't, but after listening to it, I fell in love with the cd and I haven't stopped listening.
Intro-
Diary Of Jane- Starts out the album dramatically strong 5/5
Breath- Helps progress the cd into a better sound 5/5
You- A song that's harder to adjust to, but still amazing 4.5/5
Evil Angel- A lyrically brilliant song that shows the brains of Ben 5/5
Until The End- The best song of the cd, and arguabbly of the year 5/5
Dance With The Devil- Another lyrical genius is showing here 5/5
Topless- The worst song on the cd, worth skipping 1/5
Here We Are-A softer song and still brilliant 5/5
Unknown Soldier- Still fighting side by side with a slower song and brilliance 5/5
Had Enough- A song about their former drummer for them, and a song about anyone to us, amazing! 5/5
You Fight Me- One amazing way to end a cd, it makes you beg for more, but there is unfortanetly none 5/5

Minus one star right off the bat for having a lame intro and outro. Diary of Jane is the only great song on this album. 2 or 3 good songs, and the rest just sounds so generic and uninspired. We Are Not Alone was a great album and so was Saturate. It sounds like the energy was lost in this album. I'm not counting the band out yet, but if you want your BB fix stick with the first two albums.

4 out of 5 stars nothing "breaking" about these guys... except breaking tradition.......2007-05-25

Breaking Benjamin is by far and wide one of the best rock bands out on the market today. Phobia shows that change can be for the good, not for the worse *cough, Linkin Park, cough*. Excuse me, had to clear my throat. Anyways, Phobia really shows that lead singer Ben Burley can actually sing, not just do that low growl that characterized some of their earlier singles, like "So Cold", their most popular (pre-Phobia) song, and "Polyamorous", a really neat little song that's one of my favorites from them. Ben does sing, and it comes off great, especially on their lead single, "The Diary of Jane"; he doesn't do just the singing, though, and does this freaking amazing little lapse into growling on the bridge when he screams, "Die for anyone- WHAT HAVE I BECOME?!?!" One of the greatest moments in rock history, right there. Their next song, "Breath", is actually their next single also, and though not better than "Diary of Jane", it's very close.

Phobia is also Breaking Benjamin's darkest CD yet, covering some very controversial topics in their song and yet stil managing to crank out the obligatory love ballad, "Here We Are".

So why only four stars, then? Well, technically it's four and a half, but the reason for the deduction is that the acoustic version of "The Diary of Jane" is not included on this CD; the only place I've heard this song is on BB's MySpace and also on a Love Hina AMV that I saw on YouTube. The acoustic version is literally the only song that has been made throughtout the past eight years that has made me cry while hearing it, and I was really hoping to hear it on Phobia; in fact, the acoustic version was the reason I bought Phobia in the first place, to see if it was on there. Still one of the most amazing CDs ever, though the exclusion of "Diary of Jane (acoustic)" brings it down a notch in my book.

It's always a pleasant surprise when a soundtrack contains an interesting collection of under-heard or under-appreciated tunes, but it's to be expected from Grey's Anatomy--a TV show that is packed with sharp dialogue, honest characters, and wall-to-wall good music. The head-bobbing starts immediately when the Postal Service opens things up "Such Great Heights," a crafty track that will provide indie rock fans who still love the Pet Shop Boys their guilty fix. A few songs in, the cleverness continues with the dysfunctional-woman anthem "Portions for Foxes" by L.A.'s Rilo Kiley, a tune that will have you quoting sharp lyrics to Desperate girlfirends for days. Other must-have music includes Mike Doughty (former lead singer of Soul Coughing) with "Looking At The World From The Bottom Of A Well," and the gorgeous Bjork-meets-Cat-Power stylings of Inara George on the lucious "Fools In Love." The disc highlight (from a talented vocalist named Roisin Murphy) is the sassy "Ruby Blue"--the kind of Macy Gray-funk that makes you want to see her live, immediately. As an added bonus, the liner notes have a wonderful mini-essay by two of the executive producers, providing an enjoyable description of the show's attention to detail, and the cast and crew's deep love of music. --Denise Sheppard

Album Description

The "Grey's Anatomy" soundtrack features an eclectic mix of indie pop and rock artists whose music was heard during the first season of Grey's Anatomy--a wildly popular ABC drama about surgical interns in Seattle.
The soundtrack features electrifying music from such beloved indie artists as Rilo Kiley, The Postal Service, Ben Lee, and Medeski, Martin & Wood, as well as undiscovered talent such as London-based electropop duo Psapp, who supply the show's main title song "Cosy in the Rocket."
The album's tracks, many of which can be heard during key emotional scenes in various episodes, were chosen by the show's creator and executive producer, Shonda Rhimes and executive producer Betsy Beers, from a large pool of artists introduced to them by music supervisor Alex Patsavas, who is also the music supervisor of Fox's The O.C.. "We fall in love with the songs," says Rhimes. "We ride around listening to them in our cars. We call each other to talk about them on the phone. We get them into our heads and into our souls. And then we weave them into the show because we can't live without them."

5 out of 5 stars wow.......2007-05-28

Whoever picks the music for Grey's Anatomy is great at their job. Listening to the soundtrack brings back the moments from the show the songs were used during. This soundtrack has a great selection of the songs, too. Many other soundtracks have trouble picking from a wide selection of songs, and sometimes leave out the best ones. That's not a problem here.

5 out of 5 stars Great Selection of Music.......2007-05-15

The music complimented the show, but can truly stand on its own merits. I felt the same way about the Touched By An Angel soundtracks too.

4 out of 5 stars GOOD!.......2007-05-14

Not as good as Volume 2! But still enjoyable. Looking forward to Volume 3!

4 out of 5 stars Waiting room music..........2007-05-08

I admit, I've never seen "Grey's Anatomy" -- "House" is all the hospital stuff I can handle. My tastes run more towards eccentric comedy and surreal drama, anyway.

But I cannot fault the makers of this show for the music they select, a mingling of mellow rock and shimmering indiepop. A bunch of glorious lesser-known bands -- Psapp, the Ditty Bops, Maria Taylor -- get to take the spotlight in the first volume, and they generally complement each other beautifully.

It opens on a high note -- the Postal Service's fuzzy, intimate little trip-hop song, with the enchanting lyrics, "I am thinking it's a sign/That the freckles in our eyes/Are mirror images and when we kiss/They're perfectly aligned... And when you scan the radio/I hope this song will guide you home..."

They follow it up with some other indie gems: Roisin Murphy's thumpy trippy funk, Maria Taylor's shimmering, swirling "not a love song," Tegan & Sara's prickly guitar pop, Inara George's mellow Mazzy-Starrish ballad, and the Ditty Bops' sprightly little alt-country with pleasant harmonies.

And there's rockier numbers as well -- the Radio's swirling guitars, Ben Lee's mellotron folk, and Martin Medeski's brooding party rocker. And finally, there's the most electronic song on here -- Psapp's exquisitely twinkly "Cosy in a Rocket," which sounds like a music box in a science fiction flick.

It's been chic for a few years to have lots of indie rock and pop in soundtracks, especially if you can work them into a hit TV show's soundtrack. "Grey's Anatomy" is one of those shows, and even people who've never seen the show can appreciate the musical taste of whoever comes up with these things.

Granted, not every song is great -- personally, Ben Lee's "Catch My Disease" felt like a weird fit. But the majority of them are excellent pieces of work -- chilly sparkling trip-pop, sinewy guitar pop, and combinations of the two. Most of them are pretty peppy, but occasionally (Inara George) you get something mellow and relaxing.

And those swirling guitars are flavoured with little bits of keyboard, handclaps (Roisin Murphy), piano, banjo (Ditty Bops) and driving bass. The vocals are usually quite good as well -- harmonized croons, boyish odes, ringing girls' voices, bluesy growls, and yowls of "oh look what you do/oh ruby blue!" The best would have to be Maria Taylor, whose full-bodied voice is as ethereal and elusive as a winter breeze.

The first "Grey's Anatomy" soundtrack is not just a good introduction to some great artists, but a beautiful collection of solid rock and pop songs. Definitely a good buy -- even if you don't watch the show.

5 out of 5 stars PA, um, go listen to the final track.......2007-04-23

I don't know what PA's smokin, but I want some. PA, the last track of the album is the show's theme song "Cosy in the Rocket" by Psapp. Anyways, it's a great CD with one dud. I'm not a fan of Roisin Murphy's "Ruby Blue". I always skip that one, but the rest of the album is great. Oddly enough, the second GA soundtrack also has one song I really don't like and wind up skipping. Nevertheless, this CD is worth the price for The Postal Service and Mike Doughty alone.

The medically minded Scrubs is an eccentric affair, populated by a zany cast of residents saving lives while learning life's little lessons in the process. Though lacking the show's oddball humor, its soundtrack is undeniably earnest, with a rich understanding of the pleasures and hardships faced by the hospital workers. The show's theme song, Lazlo Bane's quirky banjo twanger, sighs "I'm no Superman," as an uncharacteristically subdued Guided by Voices track cautions to "Hold on Hope." Ex-Men at Work frontman Colin Hay lends his sage advice with acoustic renditions of "Beautiful World" and the chestnut "Overkill," while Eels' "Fresh Feeling" begins with a tuning orchestra and turns into a tripping beatfest. The highlights, though, belong to Francis Dunnery, sounding uncannily like Peter Gabriel on the high-tea string elegance of "Good Life," and the Shins, with "New Slang," a humble campfire song. Puttering along pleasantly, Scrubs, while a little bland, is nevertheless a life-affirming collection that's as hopeful as the aspiring young doctors on the show. --Annie Zaleski

This soundtrack is amazing!! Which if you know Scrubs then you know that it's a great show with great music. In my opinion you can't just talk about one of these songs because all of them are incredible. I've had this CD for months now and i still find myself listening to it at least once a day. Each song brings you back to some of the shows most memorable moments.Music is staple on Scrubs and it continues to be, so if you love and appreciate music, then this soundtrack is a must have!!!

5 out of 5 stars A must have .......2007-03-31

After watching every episode of SCRUBS (and then reruns), I knew I loved the quirky music it played. This CD compiles some of the best known and most popular tunes from the show.

Of course, Superman, the theme song is number one on the disc. I'm pleased with the variety of songs on this compilation. Fast, slow, and in between.

The Shins are a favorite group, as well.

If you want a good CD for traveling or cleaning house (boring!) try this one. It'll lift your mood.

Queen brought a whole new meaning to the phrase over the top. While rock & roll flamboyance stretched back at least as far as Little Richard, Freddie Mercury continued to camp it up, taking little seriously and smirking at the music's growing pretensions while partaking in them no small bit. Many of the band's singles hold up extremely well, later tracks such as "Hammer to Fall" as much as prime-era numbers such as "Bohemian Rhapsody," "Killer Queen," and "You're My Best Friend." The quartet's canny sense of melody and sophisticated vocal harmonies--not to mention Mercury's raised eyebrow--have traveled well through the years. --Rickey Wright

This creation is one remarkable piece of history! I'm so thankful I got it, and for such a nice price you get almost 40 songs! With their incorporation of piano and Freddie Mercury's voice, and their guitarist- this thing just blows out your ears in amazement. I had heard so many of these songs on the radio, but who knew they did all of them? Bicycle Race first annoyed me with so much repitition, but with my love for bike-riding, it's become a motto for me to. Killer Queen is just WOWZERs... so sexy and loaded. And there's tons more, but I'll save those as super surpise you'll be glad you got!

4 out of 5 stars Queen Greatest hits.......2007-07-12

This CD is is great especially if you are a Queen fan. It truly is a collection Of their greatest hits.

5 out of 5 stars Queen is Amazing!.......2007-05-23

This CD was my first exposure to Queen. As is evident on this album, this band is absolutely overflowing with talent. Freddie Mercury is a genius, singing his heart out on every single one of these tracks. It's hard to pick and choose, but I would have to say that the standout tracks for me are:

"Somebody to Love": A huge, sprawling song with absolutely mesmorizing vocals from Freddie Mercury and amazing harmonies.
"Fat Bottom Girls": A classic hard rock tune with gorgeous harmonies and great guitar lines.
"You're My Best Friend": A smooth, cool, beautiful, and underrated love song.
"Seven Seas of Rhye": I love the piano on this song, and the classic hard rock feel.
"Don't Stop Me Now": A classic adrenaline-rush of a song.

I love this CD. You should get it if you like Queen. It's very cohesive. And if you don't really know Queen that well, it's a great sampler of their music. There is one problem. "Bohemian Rhapsody" is my favorite Queen song, and its absence on this album irks me quite a bit. That being said, I would download it individually before I would actually buy another album with it.

5 out of 5 stars THE QUEEN LEGEND CONTINUES WITH VOLUME II. PART 2 OF 2........2007-05-09

Before I begin my review, I would like to invite everyone that are hardcore diehard Rock n' Roll fans to read the website that Kevin Johns and I have set up for all of you. It is called "FOREVER IN ROCK, THE JOHN LOPEZ REVIEWS WRAP UP." Just log in www foreverinrock blogspot com/. I deeply hope that all of you will read it, take part in it and display what your true musical needs and tastes are. I hope to hear from all of you soon. Forever in Rock, John L.

I will be writing a review on the legendary compilation album entitled "QUEEN - GREATEST HITS - VOLUME II" by one of Rock's all-time greatest bands ever. I give you one of England's pride and joy's and one of Britain's favorite sons, Q-U-E-E-N! "QUEEN - GREATEST HITS - VOLUME II" was originally released in 1992 on Compact Disc on the Hollywood Records label which is distributed by Elektra Entertainment, a division of Warner Communications Inc. This review is Part 2 of 2. As always, if I hear any new additional information concerning this legendary compilation album or the artist, I will edit this review immediately so that you the consumer will get the overall best informative and most accurate review possible.

QUEEN will forever go down in Rock n' Roll history and be remembered for writing and recording some of Rock's most legendary all-time greatest sacred classic anthems ever. QUEEN will also be remembered for delivering one of Rock's most flamboyant and charismatic lead singer's / frontmen ever. Of course I'm speaking of the late great Farrokh Bulsara, also known the world over as Freddie Mercury. When Mercury met up and joined forces with rhythm and lead guitarist Brian May, bassist John Deacon and drummer Roger Taylor, the stage was set and QUEEN would set out to conquer the world. QUENN would write and record many great albums and hit songs throughout the band's whole entire career to highly critically acclaim. Like volume I, "QUEEN - GREATEST HITS - VOLUME II" would be the result of the many great hit songs that QUEEN would record throughout their entire career. Also like volume I, the album, "QUEEN - GREATEST HITS - VOLUME II" would also serve as proof, of one of the many great contributions, accomplishments and achievements that QUEEN would give to Rock n' Roll. Also without a doubt, in my opinion, like volume I, "QUEEN - GREATEST HITS - VOLUME II" also stands as a true testament of the sheer genius and musical creativity of four extremely talented individuals. "QUEEN - GREATEST HITS - VOLUME II" is also a fine fitting tribute to a great legendary band that was truly indeed, far ahead of their time.

It is now time to let the Rock n' Roll music of QUEEN to speak for itself and back it up by doing all of the talking musically. "QUEEN - GREATEST HITS - VOLUME II" from 1992 picks up right where VOLUME I left off and begins with the forever slow blistering QUEEN trademark Rock anthem that could be heard in stadiums during sports events the world over, "We Will Rock You," this slow Rocker will then develop into the beautifully slow hard Rock anthem "We Are The Champions," the merciless killer Rocker "Another One Bites The Dust," the forever Opera hard Rocker "Killer Queen," one of the most beautiful slow Rock anthems ever, "Somebody To Love," the hard Rock anthem for beautiful overweight women the world over, "Fat Bottom Girls," the amazing Opera Rock anthem "Bicycle Race," the forever beautifully slow QUEEN trademark Rock anthem "You're My Best Friend," the forever 50's like Rock anthem that would have made ELVIS PRESLEY proud, "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," (READY FREDDIE!) the breathtaking a*s kicking hard Rocker "Now I'm Here," the mysterious groundbreaking special effects Rock anthem with an incredible falsetto voice arrangement by Freddie Mercury, "Play The Game," the fantastc killer hard Rocker "Seven Seas Of Rhye," the forever bass pumping synthesized Rocker "Body Language," the beautifully slow electric acoustic Rocker "Save Me," the fast paced and energetic hard Rocker "Don't Stop Me Now," the incredible Opera Rocker "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy" and the forever danceable synthesized Rocker "I Want To Break Free." Again, like VOLUME I, may I also add that the blistering lead vocals and breathtaking falsetto vocal arrangements by Freddie Mercury was PERFECT and on the mark while laying down the tracks for all of these legendary hit songs. I would also like to commend Brian May for his merciless guitar riffs and licks throughout all of the recordings of these legendary hit songs. I would also like to commend QUEEN'S legendary rhythm section comprising of bassist John Deacon and drummer Roger Taylor. Their combined perfect harmony sound effort contributed in elevating both Freddie Mercury's blistering lead vocals and Brian May's merciless guitar arrangements to another level unimagined by anyone.

Overall, this is one hell of a compilation album worth checking out and seeking further research and information into especially if you are a hardcore diehard QUEEN fan or a devout music collector. As for all of the curious newcomers and new beginners that are not quite familiar with the sound and music of QUEEN, along with VOLUME I, this is not a bad compilation album or two volume album collection to start off with. Either way you choose, you will have taken a giant step in owning and starting your very own personal QUEEN music collection. You can do all of your researching and album purchases either on Amazon com or at your nearest local Borders Books and Music store. If you ever get a chance, buy both volume albums, you'll be happy and satisfied that you did.

Like VOLUME I, I would like to highly recommend purchasing this legendary compilation album(s) to own as a valuable and important part of his or her own personal music collection. Without a doubt, this legendary treasure album(s) has already proven to stand the test of time and will always be around to be enjoyed, appreciated and cherished for many years to come, NOW AND FOREVER. This is one great priceles gem that no hardcore music fan or devout music collector would want to be without.

In closing, Freddie Mercury's untimely death on 24 November 1991 would close the book on one of Rock's greatest chapters and one of Rock's all-time greatest bands ever. OR SO IT SEEMED. The QUEEN legend and legacy is far from being over. As we speak, QUEEN has been touring with former FREE'S, BAD COMPANY'S and THE FIRM'S lead singer and frontman Paul Rodgers to highly critically acclaim. In my opinion, despite Freddie Mercury being irreplaceable, QUEEN'S only chance of carrying on with someone else that is close to Freddie Mercury's talent is with none other than George Michael. When I heard George Michael sing with QUEEN on stage at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert, Michael is the only lead singer and frontman alive today that is capable of filling in the empty shoes left vacant by the late great Freddie Mercury. I'm really surprised that QUEEN didn't snatch up George Michael right away. I HOPE QUEEN IS READING THIS! As years have gone by, the contributions, accomplishments and achievements that QUEEN has made throughout Rock n' Roll history speaks for itself. In 2001, QUEEN would meet their date with destiny by receiving the highest ultimate honor possible, by being inducted as members of the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. With this in mind, QUEEN will forever leave their place and mark in Rock n' Roll history and will never be forgotten. There will also be new stories in the QUEEN legend and legacy that will still need to be told and written. But that, my fellow readers and reviewers, you will just have to stay tuned and glued to your computer and read further more about it at a later date in the near future. So here's to you late great Freddie, Brian, John, Roger and yes, you too Paul and George. Thanks for the many great memories. Keep The faith. And as the saying goes, "AND THE REST IS ROCK N' ROLL HISTORY," need I say more or am I wrong? FREDDIE MERCURY LIVES! Thanks for reading my review and I truly hope that you have enjoyed reading it as much as I have truly enjoyed writing it for your reading pleasure. I also deeply hope that all of you will read all of my other reviews in the near future when time permits. QUEEN FOREVER! R.I.P. FARROKH BULSARA A.K.A. FREDDIE MERCURY, Born 5 September 1946, Died 24 November 1991 at age 45. Long Live Rock n' Roll. Rock out always and take it easy. Forever in Rock, John L.

5 out of 5 stars Genre Bender's Greatest Hits.......2007-03-03

Although it lacks a few of their best songs, Queen's "Greatest Hits" is a nice starting point for anyone who remembers the band from their glory days and for those just beginning this royal rock journey. I think that few people would argue the point that Freddie Mercury truly had one of the best voices around. He could meld it to any of a number of genres of music and that's well-evidenced on this album. From the anthemic "We Will Rock You" to the rockabilly "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," to the groovy, urban stylings of "Another One Bites The Dust," Mercury and the boys constantly crossed genre lines.

Highlights including those previously mentioned are "I Want To Break Free," "Save Me", "Killer Queen," "Somebody To Love," and the wonderfully strange "Body Language." My personal favorite is "Fat-Bottomed Girls."

Fans of arena rock bands like Styx and Foreigner will surely enjoy Queen, although Queen is on an entirely different level than those bands. They are classic rock royalty and I highly recommend you snag "Classic Queen" to get a more complete understanding of Queen's broad-reaching style of music.

Highly recommended.

Vanessa Hudgens is not "indescribable," as the MC who opens V proclaims in a hopped-up, hyped-out voice. On the contrary, the smoky-eyed High School Musical star commands a multitude of adjectives--she's adorable, talented, ambitious, and as this debut makes clearer than a set of invisible braces, young. With one foot in the grown-up, club-going world and the other in a powder-pink bedroom with a Barbie under the bed, Hudgens kicks out a crop of hooky and highly accessible tracks here. First single "Come Back to Me" dabbles in a sophisticated breed of disco, "Let's Dance" lets rip a whispery torrent of R-rated come-ons, and "Let Go," bolstered by its girls-night-out lyric, loses its inhibitions beneath an R&B-lite beat. Elsewhere, on tracks no less compelling, Hudgens explores her inner Hilary Duff: "Drive" pops the hood on her pop-anthem side ("As long as I'm alive, I'm gonna drive"), and "Afraid" wrestles with a sense of vulnerability all wrapped up in teen hormones ("Why am I so afraid/I can't see what's come over me"). Split personality or no, Hudgens makes a strong case through her Anna Nalick-reminiscent vocals alone that she's someone worth watching--a lot of emotion pours through her still-developing pipes and, as anybody who saw High School Musical knows, the girl can twirl. -Tammy La Gorce

Album Description

Vanessa Anne Hudgens, the star who portrays Gabriella Montez on the runaway hit "High School Musical," has signed an exclusive recording deal with Hollywood Records. Her debut CD "V" is being released September 26. Said Buena Vista Music Group Chairman Bob Cavallo, "We are delighted to have Vanessa at Hollywood. Not only is she talented, she is tireless in her work ethic and has a vision for her career. People will be very impressed when they hear her voice and see her perform." Certainly, Vanessa is no stranger to performing. She made her feature film debut in Catherine Hardwick's "Thirteen" starring Holly Hunter and Evan Rachel Wood. Most recently she co-starred in the action-adventure film "Thunderbirds" and is a recurring guest star on the Disney Channel's "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody." Vanessa began her acting career in musical theater when she was 8 years old. She has played leading and supporting roles in "Evita," "Carousel," "The Wizard of Oz," "The King and I," "The Music Man," "Cinderella," and "Damn Yankees," among others.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing!!.......2007-06-03

This cd is so good, I'm addicted! I love Vanessa Hudgens music! I think it's one of the best cds out of the whole HSM cast! I love all the songs, but my favorites are Let's Dance, Say Ok (watch that video it feat. the hot Zac Efron), Baby Come Back, Make You Mine, and Promise. Some of her songs are so fun you can crank it up in the car. Some are really touching, you can relate. Oh! and it's a good cd for the kids too! This cd is worth your money, everyone should buy it! I give it 5 stars, 10/10, and 2 thumbs up! It's just as amazing as she is!

5 out of 5 stars Another side of Vanessa Hudgens........2007-05-25

Vanessa Hudgens who has abandoned her second first name "Anne", releases a personnal and up close album with a lot of "ballades" and dance songs.
Vanessa has managed as the same time to create a romantic (When she sings "say ok" for example.) and modern atmosphere( Refer to "let's dance".) playing with her voice, some times deep and other times soft.
I'd say the girl knows she's got it all and she's right not to be ashamed to show it. She's really talented and with this "opus" she shows us that she's a star.

5 out of 5 stars Pretty good stuff..........2007-05-24

I've been satisfied with Vanessa Hudgen's music. She is another positive role model for pre-teens. This is the girl from the popular "High School Musical" and her soulfulness appeals to the beginning of those preteen years--friends, family, self awareness, boys, etc.
I can get behind this as a parent.
