The arrival of Eve 6's third album was preceded by the curious news that frontman Max Collins had been cited for indecent exposure charges after he allegedly wandered into a hotel lobby in Pittsburgh naked except for some strategically placed shaving cream. It seemed like an ominous sign: After inking a major label deal straight out of high school, becoming Top 40 stars with its self-titled 1998 debut, and relentlessly touring its sophomore album, 2000's Horrorscope, was the Los Angeles rock trio on the verge of a meltdown? Luckily, It's All In Your Head reveals the band that is very much on top of things, from the thick and creamy guitars on songs such as the spiky "Still Here Waiting" to the potent relationship drama "Think Twice" and the scratchy last-night-on-earth melody that whips through "Not Gonna Be Alone Tonight.," all carried off in a vibrant Foo Fighters/Jimmy Eat World-style. --Aidin Vaziri
Customer Reviews:
Great Album.......2006-04-12
I think Eve6 may be the most underrated band of the 90s. It's a shame they aren't around anymore, as this, their last album, is every bit as catchy and fresh as their first 2. Check it out!
Dissapointment after almost 7 years of fandom .......2006-03-02
I'm in college now and I first started liking Eve 6 in the 6th grade. I've been a huge fan because I could never get enough to of the band's energetic, kick back and jam music, nor enough of the tongue twist lyrics that make you laugh and go "haha, I love that line". These were the reasons I adore their self titled and Horrorscope albums. When It's all in your head came out, I was reluctant, but eventually got the CD only to know why I waited almost a year to buy it. The energy of the band feels absent in this cd, and the lyrics drone on without creativity or catchiness. In previous Eve 6 albums, every song pumped you up just in time to be brought back down by songs like "Jesus nitelight" or "heres to the night", but on It's all in your head, it's rare to find that pump up song, which is a complete shame. The album feels tired. There are positives though, some songs are great:
Good lives
Bring the night on
Think twice
At least we're dreaming
Unfortunetly...the rest of the album sucks.
!!!.......2006-02-21
This album is totally stuck in my head at the moment! It's one of those album that you can just listen to and arn't temptd to skip to your favourite song, even the slow songs rock!
Lyrical master.......2005-12-14
Sure, there was mention of Think Twice, but nobod said a word about the best song on the album, "Bring the Night On"; it truly illustrates Collins' extraordinary talent with words. He puts words together I never knew would work. He leaves me wondering "How did he do that?" I mean listen:
"Okay I'm boring you I'm warning you tonight
It's not the night for fights, lies, white or otherwise"
And believe me, the energy when they perform it live will blow you away. And they were just opening. I wish they were the headliner that night!
It's less poppy than Horrorscope, more refined than their self titled debut, and deeper than anything I've seen from them yet, not to say that their other CD's weren't as good in their own ways.
I haven't had anybody tell me they didn't like this CD yet; everybody I play it for loves it. You won't be sorry.
The Album After the Dawn and Before the Dusk.......2005-08-16
Eve 6's first major hit, Inside Out, conjoured up images of an excited 15-year-old high-school guy who had just taken one too many Xanax- it gave you a feeling of excess energy complimented by inane, rose-tinted babbling. Horrorscope, though highly regarded by many Eve 6 fans, shows signs of the Billy Corgan slide into an equivocal mediocrity with hints of electonica (especially notable on Here's to the Night) that has lost its emotional flavor. Its All In Your Head has lost the extra Xanax of the first two albums in favor of a more defined, varied, and deeper emotional statement well-supported by intelligent lyrics and commendable musicianship, a statement that has been lost in Horrorscope, in favor of a more soma-induced please-all, which still contains the musicianship but lacks in the emotional and intelligent arenas.

They're Back!.......2007-06-17
Yes, they're back. The interesting thing about this band is that with every release, there's a line-up change to go along with it - But the All Out War sound remains. Sure, they're not much for variety. If you heard the first record, you've heard this one. But that's not really a bad thing 'cause if you liked the first one, then you're gonna like this one. Crushing!
Back to the old school..........2007-04-04
Let me tell you that I've been waiting very, very patiently for this album..."Condemned to Suffer" is probably my favorite album of the last decade, minus Kreator's "Enemy of God." That said, with this album, All Out War has gone back to the style of "For Those Who Were Crucified," which was decent, though I thought "Condemned" was a big improvement. "Assassins" is a solid album, though you might actually mistake it for "Crucified" if you don't know better. However, AOW is still the best hardcore band around (call it what you want), no question. It's worth the money. Definitely worth seeing live, too.

Good Deal.......2006-07-27
For $20 you get tons of ska, and not just one kind (like rock-steady or skunk). Plus it is kinda of like a sampler to find out about bands you hadn't previously heard of. If you are tired of the same old ska, or if you want to find some new great band this , or like ska at all then buy this.
Looking for good bands, here's the sampler.......2005-11-12
Megalith and Jump Up joined forces to compile this series. This should give anyone interested in 3rd Wave ska an idea of what the sound is all about. You may not hear them on the radio anymore (most of them not at all), but you'll be briefed on 88 bands, whom you can look up anywhere. I got this collection when it first came out. There are several bands I wasn't familiar with and have since started collecting thier CDs.
This is NOT a collection of Rancid clones. There is a broad spectrum of styles on this album, from old-school to mento, gospel to ska-core, neo-cumbia psychobilly to rock-steady to dance hall. Yes, there ARE bands doing this, from the past ten years and many are roughing it out despite the lack of commercial popularity of ska. There are songs I don't like (the Mighty Mighty Boss Tones track on this album is probably the most boring of all), but there are songs that have replenished my faith in musicians my age. Yes, there is a market for this, and I'm part of that small demographic. Please keep going, guys.
most amazing collection ever.......2005-03-01
This has got to be the best compilation ever created, of SKA or anything else. Every band in America (and the best from Canada too) are right here at your fingertips! I do a SKA show on the radio and I could fill my whole two hour block with this on shuffle and still please my audience 100%. Rock Steady SKA, SKA-punk, reggae jammin' SKA, Third Wave style, Second Wave style, even old school first wave sounding SKA, swinging SKA, acoustic SKA, one man band SKA, just plain SKA type SKA- you name the kind of SKA you like and it is in this collection. It is brilliant and incredibly low-priced. Please, help out the locals while sampling the mainstreamers at the same time, and check out this miraculous compilation of SKA music. It's a great price, and these bands need the money- so quit burning this stuff from your friends or wherever and help save SKA!
Who says SKA is dead.......2003-09-16
In a world where the mainstream is [bad] and the radio is unlistenable, there is the sanctity of punk/ska/psycobilly/whatever. Usually, when people see SKA! written on my knuckles or hear me humming a trombone rythmn, i get the "What does ska mean? is it short for sk8?" i just shake my head and say the only thing i can. "well,it depends, sum 3rd wave is like punk w/trumpets. the traditional ska is from jamaica and 2tone is from england in the 80's." they stare and go "whatever". Is this whats happened to ska? i hope not, and this is the cd to bring it back. It showcases the BEST of todays 3rd wave ska, from the skacore,to ska punk, to the very traditional ska. its got stuff for every1, w/4 cds and the lowest track listing being 20. a MUST BUY. A MUST!

The Prodigals just get better and better with each cd........2004-02-25
The Prodigals just get better with each cd released. Since this is their fourth, I just can't wait to hear the next!
In my younger days, I thought all Irish music sounded like Enya. Then we attended the Fort Lauderdale Irish Festival and heard The Prodigals. It was a revelation. I've never seen anyone play like Gregory Grene on the accordion, 90 mph while jumping up & down. The only thing better than their cds is to hear them live in concert.
These cds MUST be played at high volume to be properly enjoyed. You do feel as if you're there. Just be sure you're not out of Guinness.
The greatest Irish band I've ever heard.
Buy their cds!!

The First HARDCORE PUNK band EVER........2004-05-07
The Consumers were the first hardcore band ever and they were from Phoenix Arizona. Their album, All My Friends are Dead, is a masterpiece and was recorded way back in 1977. That same year the first punk albums came out from bands like Sex Pistols, Clash, Damned, Dead Boys, Saints etc. The speed and the power of the Consumers made all those bands sound too slow. The songs of the Consumers were short, fast, rough, loud, powerful, melodic and catchy too (somewhere between the Germs and the Misfits). They were the first band that played really fast and loud even for the hardcore standards of the early eighties. This is a classic record with many hits. It's a fun and entertaining album full of crazy energy. Anyone who listens to hardcore or punk should own this amazing album, as a great document from one of the best and most talented bands.
Before 45 Grave, there was... the CONSUMERS.......2003-07-13
One of the best forgotten bands ever. Fans of punk and 45 Grave will really be into this. Consumers is a punkier version of 45 Grave AUTOPSY. A lot of the songs on this album were re-recorded later (with Dinah Cancer) for AUTOPSY.
All My Friends Are Dead is their only album. Don't be fooled by the other "consumers", though they share the same name, they're not the same band.

This is an INSANE artifact! Recorded in 1977 in Phoenix, AZ and not released until 2002. Buzzsaw guitars that sound like nothing else. Some of the meanest disposition lyrics you've ever heard. Sounds like a cross between The Damned and The Misfits. Some of it is so fast it's astounding that it actually pre-dates hardcore. Just incredible! If you want to hear the real deal then check this out.

Vandals- Gods of punk.......2007-01-19
This LP is exactly what you think The Vandals should be. This is one of their best albums to date as far as I'm concerned. If you have any inclination to listen to punk music make this cd your first buy. This band is an all-star cast including drummer Josh Freise, who has many accalodes including "drummer of the year".
Holy Vandals Batman!!!.......2005-07-14
Ya gotta love the Vandals. They just have such enthusiasm for the genre. They love to play and to rock. If you wear a t-shirt you should own this album. If you ride a skateboard, surfboard or snowboard... buy this album.
Hell, if you don't believe me download a few songs and sample their style. AND THEN buy their album so they get a few bucks for their efforts.
That's right. You like their music and but their album. They can afford another beer. So do it. Do it now.
I just wish they were coming to Australia soon.
(...)
A great change........2005-04-08
This album really suprised me when I bought it and heard the first song. I was sort of worried when I bought it because I thought it could be very poppy like there previous two albums. Well when I heard the first few songs I was shocked, and very happy.
This album is quick, fast, funny, and energetic unlike IDSS. There are really good pump up tracks like "How They Getcha", "My Neck And My Back", and "Be A Good Robot." There are also some mellower songs that are also great like "I Am Crushed", and "My Special Moment."
I think this album was awesome. Although it's a four star album because of length, and it isn't as good as Fear Of A Punk Planet, or Peace Thru Vandalism. Overall I recommend this to any fans of punk, and a must have for a Vandals fan.
Not what i expected........2004-11-13
This cd has got some good songs on it and some really bad ones. The good ones like "how they getcha" and "dig a hole" (best song on the cd) Their are about 5 good songs on the cd out of 12. If you like a mellowed out Vandals then you will like this, if you like the more punk vandals, then check out their Live Fast Diahrea cd or When in Rome do as the Vandals.
vandals best since "live fast..".......2004-11-09
FINALLY!!!!!!!! finally, an album to make the vandals hardcore fans happy! this is what we've been waiting for! this is for the people (like me) who know exactally what the vandals are like live and wish they'd do an album that represents how fast and powerful the band really is! I really think that the vandals had fallen asleep with their previous effort "internet dating..." although funny at times, the album was definitely lacking in the kick-ass department. 'Hollywood Potato..." has it all- fast punk/hardcore tracks, laugh-out-loud funny tracks, Dave Quackinbush's BEST vocals EVER! - just a really great, relentless, PUNK ROCK album!!!!
definitely don't pass this one up!

Let's not get carried away.......2004-12-24
Heaping accolades here for this album, a fact which i find a little surprising. The reformed Urinals are indeed unapologetically inventive with their punk rock, but the results aren't always so great as the other reveiwers might lead you to believe. This is a challenging album for two reasons: it is quirky and unusual (which is good), but it is also uneven, and contains lots of filler. It takes some discernment to isolate the successful songs from the failed expirements, and the results are about half and half. My favorites are tracks 2,3,4,8,and 12, and there are maybe two or three others that i won't skip past, but that leaves a lot of chaff to sift through. This album is good, but not great; interesting but not groundbreaking; and punk, but not always rocking. It sounds at times like a more abstract and distorted version of older R.E.M - which works well on occasion, but, not surprisingly, often fails to work at all. More traditional comparisons might include The Dickies and Gray Matter, but, to their credit, these guys are often difficult to pigeon hole. Remember, however, that not all new inventions are worth patenting. Proceed with caution.
exactly right.......2004-02-24
Of the many reunited bands that made great "comeback" albums in 2003 (Wire, Killing Joke, others that I'm probably forgetting), "What Is Real and What Is Not" is the most surprising - it's an absolutely perfect follow-up to the classic self-titled 100 Flowers album of 1983. Listening to "What Is Real...", it's hard to believe that 20 years have passed since 100 Flowers last recorded.
The songs here are short, to the point, and at the same time edgy and wickedly melodic. There really is not a weak song in the bunch - even the cover of the (pre-disco crap) Bee Gees "Jumbo" fits perfectly.
I wouldn't change a note. This album is damn near perfect. I just hope that we won't have to wait another 20 years for another!
Best CD in a long time.......2004-02-10
Excellent CD, plenty of variety on each track, great lyrics. Recently saw these guys live in Hollywood, and they're great as ever. May not be for everybody, but it sure works for me!
Haunting.......2003-11-19
Vintage punk rock--an oxymoron? Think of something turned exceptional with age--not just the same old tired 1-2-3-4 vibe. Maybe the Urinals were never punk rock at all but occupied the same time and space and stages as Black Flag and the Minutemen, who you thrash fans wouldn't call punk now if you heard them. Maybe they are more about the dada of Duchamps. This CD has all the energy but none of the "All I wanted as a Pepsi" whine of vintage LA punk.
Tracks that stand out, that have hooks and lyrics that bite, that'll snag into your brain like a cactus spine: Beautiful again; Skygrifter; Let a little dark into your heart
Maybe this is really what it's all about.
GREAT NEW CD.......2003-11-13
For those of you who like your punk smart and sharp (think Mission of Burma or reformed Television), the new Urinals' CD is right up your alley. If the talking heads had been better, this is the stuff they might have done. What made the Urinals great before is still here--great songs, well played, interesting structures and lyrics. The re-formed Urinals (with guitarist Roderick Barker joining original drummer Kevin Barrett and bassist/singer John Talley-Jones) add a great sense of dynamics and melody to the mix. Plenty of songs here--from the lovely "Beautiful Again" to the charging "Skygrifter" and the great title track will have you wearing out your 'repeat' button.
Buy this album. A great band who deserves your attention--you won't be disappointed.

Product Description
Crisis came into existence in the late '70s amidst the British hardcore punk movement and was often featured in Rock Against Racism live showcases.
These political affiliations earned them comparisons to a more focused and truly politicized Clash. Crisis was known for having a decidedly non-peacenik attitude which beget more thrashing off the stage than on. And however much they would contextualize their relation with working-class rights, they bore only slight facsimile to the Oi! working-class sound. Rather, they would take the same energy that came from youthful, raw anger, but lock it down tight with restrained lyrical phrasing and strict rhythms. Resulting in a somewhat harsh poeticism of violent urgency held on leash that had more in common with WARSAW or GANG OF FOUR.
Members include Douglas P. and Tony Wakeford who would later expand upon some of the Crisis material for their dark, neo-folk group DEATH IN JUNE. Wakeford later went on to form SOL INVICTUS, and two other band mates, Luke Rendall and Lester Jones, would later find involvement in THEATRE OF HATE and SEX GANG CHILDREN, respectively.
Crisis' entire remastered discography from 1978-1980, complete with a 12 page booklet featuring exclusive photos from Douglas P.'s private
