Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars I saw the band live and was absolutely amazed.......2004-03-03

This band is totally different from anything i have ever heard. I saw them play at the Department of Safety in Anacortes, Washington. They were the third band on and had a great stage performance. If you like the new radiohead album then you should like this. It has music that seems simplistic at first but as you listen you start to get the melodies and somewhat nonsensical lyrics stuck in your head. I highly reccomend this album.

4 out of 5 stars One of the best Canadian acts around.......2003-11-16

I'd never heard Jerk With A Bomb until I stopped by a small, sparsely attended in-store show at a record shop in town. I was late, and after a few minutes, realized that I had made a huge mistake in coming late. Their slow-motion folk and country influenced style of rock dropped my jaw. I purchased the record from them, and this was a choice I didn't regret. The first three tracks (And Then There Were None, Fine Health Is At Home, To The Grave) are easily three of the best songs I've heard this year. Haunting melodies carry "Fine Health Is At Home", which goes from a slow and lazy chord progression and sparse drums to a full blown epic, complete with a dazzling trumpet line that makes an unexpected second appearance at the climax. I haven't been this excited about a band in a long time. Pyrokinesis is an exceptional record.
