DJ Jelly and MC assault are the best rap producers I know today. The A-town is hildin it down fo real. This album only has a few tracks but it's still tight and should be up there with other famous rap stars. If you want a bass compilation, go get this album. Hold it down Big Oomp. Don't stop it.

A double Cd containing a compilation of Ep's by all of the bands from the Mortarhate label.Many of these bands are well known,like The Varukers and Icons Of Filth,but most never recorded much more than it's here.The sound ranks from good to excellent,and despite the ep's have been copied from the vinyl records instead of the original master tapes,whith some skipping here and there-nothing really noticeable or annoying,though-Colin Jerwood's remastering of the sound is outstanding.There are 2 of the ep's that are slow,vocal-like which sucks,but they get lost in the total around 140 minutes of playing time.Plus,this cd is incredibly underpriced,which makes for cuadruple satisfaction !!! ONE OF MY BEST BUYS !!!!

    My 5 stars really goes to all three volumes of this excellent sampler series, but volume 3 is my personal favorite. Lots of great bands and rarities from Merge's impressive artist roster.

    Do yourself a favor and visit mergerecords.com -- you can get all three as a bundle for sixteen bucks!

    Some personal favorites: Annie Hayden's "Lonely & Lonely" and Portastatic covering Nick Drake from vol. 1; Matt Suggs' "Tehachapi Girl" and East River Pipe's "Hey Ma, What's the Point" from vol. 2; Matt Elliott's "Brunlette Espagnol" and M. Ward's amazing "Fearless" from vol. 3.

    In between you'll find lots of great stuff from Lambchop, The Rosebuds, Karl Hendricks, Spoon, The Buzzcocks, Pram, Imperial Teen, Superchunk, and the Essex Green. You really can't go wrong!

              DON'T BUY THIS CD. I've bought it twice and both my copies have manufacturing defects. CD 1 "skips" about every fifteen seconds. it's not actually skipping, but there must have been some sort of error in the mastering. CD 2 plays fine until the last track at which point it skips (really skips, unlike cd 1) like crazy...avoid THIS mortarhate version...I'm not sure if the Go Kart version has the same defects.
