About the Artist
Antoniette Costa is a 20 year old singer/songwriter whose old soul's embodied in a voice that slides from innocence to sultry and back to slick (with Gracie) hard rock, effortlessly. The mix of classic voice with hard edged and hard delivered lyrics gives a solid punch to her variety of Adult Alternative and Neo-Soul. All 12 original songs on her debut CD entitled "breakthru" have a story and an emotion that is always visceral, sometimes angry, occasionally violent ("your turn"), grief stricken yet still fragile. Her melodies are memorable and leave listeners whistling or humming her tunes all day. Her songs have been described as good novels that leave you longing for the sequel to once again know the characters that are created with each stanza. Antoniette currently attends Cornell University.

A young singer with serious chops.......2005-03-30
There's no denying it. Antoniette has a strangely rich and magnificent voice which can perform the kinds of tricks most singers her age are neither practised at nor talented enough to pull off. (She's 20!) But why put a number on it? - Antoniette has a voice that can rival powerhouses of any age group.
In today's musical landscape, that alone should be enough reason to pick up this CD. And if you want more justification - try the fact that the music is good. The songs are lyrically and musically inventive, drawing listeners into their mystique and there's a modern romantic tone that runs throughout the album, tying it together and making it memorable.
Think Norah Jones, Alanis Morissette and Toni Braxton fused - and you'll have a good sense of Antoniette's vocal quality. The next logical step: get your own copy of "Breakthru" and play it on repeat. You'll feel privileged to have it as part of your music collection.
Refreshing and New .......2005-03-04
Antoniette is an extremely talented artist and star on the rise with something fresh to offer the music industry. She is an extraordinarily talented singer/songwriter for such a young age. Her deep, resonant voice swoops and soars through every superbly written and composed track. She delivers some tracks with a soulful, passion reminiscent of an R-n-B diva. Yet on other tracks her voice has sultry rock edge reminiscent of Tori Amos or Alanis Morrisette. Among some of my favorite songs on this album include "Said Who" a Funk/Soft Rock track. "Murphy" is a hard edged track with amazing rock guitar riffs and piano perfectly complementing her enchanting three part harmonies. "Never Should Have", an upbeat track with a very catch chorus. "Dream" an amazing beautifully but melancholy piano ballad. "Caroline's Camelot" is yet another really amazing track with lovely piano accompaniment and wonderful harmonies. I strongly recommend this album to anyone who wants to hear music that is unique, new, and refreshing. Antoniette Costa is definitely what the popular music industry needs right now.

I highly reccomend this album. It is complete with soulful tones and heartfelt lyrics. Antoniette's voice is that of an angel.
