This is a great collection from this group. If you are a fan, then this is a must have. My only complaint...where is "Dog"? My local radio station used to play it a lot back in 1991 and it was my introduction to Army of Lovers. Still, this is a fabulous collection.

You can't help but make comparisons between Army of Lovers and Abba: Swedish, catchy-as-hell tunes, two guys-two girls and both greatly under-appreciated.

But while Abba had its eye on pop respectability, Army of Lovers reach for outrageous high-camp. It's all here from the classic "Crucified" to the tongue-very-in-cheek "Israelism" all the way to the new re-working of the anthemic "Let The Sunshine In" (that video is not to be missed...)

The second disc is a compilation of previously released extended mixes and it's nice to have them all in one place. The rare Tolstoy Farm version of "Candyman Messiah" is a great plus. It's great to have Army of Lovers back after a long wait. The only downside is that I miss Michaela's contralto deadpan.

As an introduction to Army of Lovers, this is a perfect start. Next, try to seek out the out-of-print albums "The Gods of Earth and Heaven" and "Glory Glamour and Gold".

A welcomed return release by the masters & mistresses of high camp and glamour : The Army Of Lovers. This release contains all the singles and some of the more well known 12" remixes to keep the disco ball spinning. Strangley enough though, one must question why the three new tracks on this cd are cover versions : 'Hands Up','Let The Sunshine In' and 'Everybodys Gotta Learn Sometime'... but i spose no one else could have revamped them better than Army!! If you ever wanted to introduce 'Army Of Lovers' to your friends - this cd will cover all the questions they may ask. Welcome back 'Army Of Lovers'.

How many Army of Lovers greatest hits albums does it take to screw in a light bulb? At first glance, Le Grand Docu-Soap might be the punchline to a familiar joke, but it's more than just another greatest hits collection. (Aside from the 1995 Les Greatest Hits album, there have been at least three other official and unofficial collections.)

For the long-time fan, all the familiar hits are here: Crucified, Obsession, King Midas, and so on. For those new to Army of Lovers, these tracks are the perfect introduction. Fifteen of the 18 tracks on the main disc are old favorites, but it's the three new songs that stand out: Let The Sunshine In, Hands Up, and Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime. The first two are disco-like tracks, and the third is more mellow, but still with the usual Army of Lovers flair.

What really makes this CD worthwhile is the bonus remix disc featuring 10 tracks. Most of these mixes are (or have been) widely available on CD singles, but two in particular stand out: The mix for I Am was previously found only on a 12" vinyl single, and the mix for Candyman Messiah was previously available only on a notoriously hard-to-find CD single.
