Product Description
Asian exclusive re-release of the Swedish indie pop act's third album includes five bonus tracks 'Love In December' (vs Les Espions), 'Things We Share', 'Don't Stop The Night', 'You And Me', 'A Place In My Heart (vs Les Espions). Described as falling, 'somewhere between the pop pastiche of Saint Etienne & the elegant moodiness of Portishead', with just a hint of the retro glamour of their fellow Scandinavians the Cardigans, Komeda, & Cloudberry Jam'. Same as Japanese, but much cheaper. Labrador/Dreambeat. 2002.

Customer Reviews:
An unexpected, disco gem!.......2006-03-25
I've got to admit, when I bought S Club Junior's 'Together,' I was a bit disappointed. The lyrics were bland, most of the songs sounded childish, and the juniors' voices hadn't matured and sounded like what they were, eight thirteen year olds singing S Club 7 karaoke. So, as you can imagine, when I popped 'Sundown' into the CD player, I wasn't expecting much. Man, was I surprised...
1. Fool No More - This thumping, fast-paced disco track is the perfect way to start the album. Mature lyrics and great vocals set the tone for 'Sundown.' This track sounds like something Rachel Stevens might sing, a super infectious flashback to the eighties. 10/10
2. Sundown - This is, in my opinion, is one of the best songs on the album. Electro pop mixes with cool beats, a mega-catchy chorus, and great singing to provide what should have been a number one single. It's almost too good for its own good, you listen to it so many times it gets annoying, yet you still can't manage to turn it off...1,000/10
3. Don't Tell Me You're Sorry - Eh. I think this was a weak single choice. It's trying to combine disco and R&B, and it just doesn't work. The vocals are kind of weird, and the sad part is, it's not even very catchy. 5/10
4. Love to the Limit - Reminds me of an S Club 7 track. Nothing groundbreaking here, but it's a catchy little pop tune. 7/10
5. Turn the Lights On - Here we go, a standout to pick up the pace after those two rather lackluster songs. It starts off slowly, and then suddenly blasts into an irresistible chorus. Great! 10/10
6. Searching for Perfection - Another gem! Sounds just like a catchy disco jam from the seventies. 9/10
7. One Thing I Know - VERY S Club 7. A laid-back, peppy track for those hot summer days with the convertible top down. It's just too infectious! 9/10
8. Sail On Through - Yet another spectacular track. The bridge and chorus are both fantastic, and the harmonies are virtually flawless. 10/10
9. Big Fun - Of course, every song can't be perfect. Everything here is boring. This should have been replaced with either one of the b-sides 'Sloop Upside' or 'Wherever Your Heart Beats.' 3/10
10. The Day You Came - What a difference from 'Big Fun!' This is a giant, memorable electro track. Worth putting on repeat! 10/10
11. Pretty Boy - Warning, sappy ballad alert! However, it's so addicting, you can't help but love it. The vocals sound exactly like Hilary Duff. (I don't know if that's good or bad...) 10/10
12. Rush - A TRUE standout. There's only one word to describe this one, WOW. Super mature sounding song with a chugging electro beat and an AMAZING chorus! Superb! 1,000/10
13. I Just Came to Dance - Not as amazing as 'Rush' or 'Sundown,' but still good. The only problem is, it's just a bit boring until the chorus. 8/10
14. Drawn to You - The exact same sort of song as 'Pretty Boy.' The two should be released together as a single. It's almost too sugary and sweet, but it still manages to be great. Calvin sounds awesome. 10/10
15. Tears On My Pillow - Kind of a nice way to end the album. I think an original song, such as one of the b-sides, should have been in its place, but nevertheless, it's upbeat and charming. 8/10
Overall, 'Sundown' is a huge step in the right direction for S Club 8. They should have stuck to this material, instead of adding five more members, becoming a new band, (I Dream) and releasing a relatively boring pop album (Welcome to Avalon Heights). Snap this one up quickly, it's a diamond in the rough that's not worth forgetting.
So Much Better.......2006-03-16
These kids are just awesome, all the songs are really really good, my favorites are I Just Came to Dance and Day you came. they're more disco than before, and it's just great!!! I love this Cd, I'm always listening to it. Buy it and you won't regret.
Getting much more better.......2005-12-29
Come on.. i don't get you guys, if you don't like the song or the member, why on earth do you spend your money on buying their disk or spending your time to listen to it and more.. reviewing it?
Well... i won't make the arque gets more bigger... and one thing to the mr or miss kid's review below me.. how on earth did you know if he's from buenos aires? Cause i'l tell you one thing, buenos aires is the capital city of Argentina and it's part of latin america... If you don't know, most of Latin america's countries mother languange is Spanish and that's including Argentina. So, if carlos is really from Buenos Aires, it's not surprising that he speaks spanish. What he says is that he likes the album, most of the songs are good, except the other people songs, like pretty boy. But he says not to mind it. And what he prefer the most is the songs he says..
Okay... back to my opinion.
I think Sundown album is much more mature than the together album. All the songs are catchy and good to dance or sings with... They aren't very hard to understand and their voice is clear... The beat that they use are perfect for all the pop fans out there.
My favorite tracks are Fool no more, sundown, Don't tell me you're sorry, love to the limit, turn the lights on, searching for perfection, one thing i know and i just came to dance
So.. to all rock and all fans... i don't recomend you guys to buy this..
But to all pop fans.. BUY IT, this is one good album...
Carlos, if you are from buneos aries, why are you speaking spanish?.......2005-10-17
This album stinks, and carlos, learn english, its particularly important if you are to regocnise fugly sluts like the ones in this cd, who knows, even you may be one!
Bad eggs.......2005-10-11
This stinks like off eggs. Carlos honey, WE CANT UNDERSTAND A THING YOU ARE SAYING! i'll just interpret it to say "S club 8 stinks like rotten faeces! I think these children are so annoying, nothing can describe their annoying behavious, their ugly little faces make me puke!

Customer Reviews:
exstatic sound of TRANCE and TECHNO!.......2001-08-11
In contrast to reviewed above KAI TRACID set, "DJ Networx vol. 8" not only met my expectation but superseded it. DJ DEAN who usually mix for this double CD compilation has chosen 40 dynamic tracks from TRANCE and TECHNO genres. DJ DEAN features some good, hard to get buy mixes as well providing exciting dance experience. First CD as usually is more devoted to TRANCE club trends. For starter "Monstersound" by DJ BALLON in COSMIC GATE Mix, also "Lovemachine" by AQUAGEN is mixed by COSMIC GATE. Both tracks are already well played and COSMIC GATE mixes are oustanding TRANCE versions with incredible synth-work and excited buttoms overall. Truly masterpieces of the genre. You will also find other tunes that you should be familiar with like "Smile" by FUTURE BREEZE or "Free" by ULTRA or newest from MYTHOS 'N' COSMO - "Hymn" (in haunting Airscape Mix) and MAURO's PICOTTO "Proximus". This CD is full of cutting-edge TRANCE sound. "Reality" by DJ KESSOK is simply intoxicatingly hypnotic circuit TRANCE. If you like COSMIC sound you really should check pounding "The Touch" by BALTES vs. STEVENS. This spacey fare is a chilling and mind fondling experience. Imagination at your finger tips. Similar intense feelings are delivered by BAGHERA's "Tears May Fall" in DE VARGAS Mix truly a rousing, pumped-up TRANCE stomper. Many others are worth of mentioning as well, but to really understand the beauty of it, you have to treat yourself with full CD. The second CD in more TECHNO oriented. It's starts with TECHNO version of legendary "French Kiss" originally by LIL LOUIE now revamped by NIGHTCLUB. Be prepared for extensive dose of hard beat and progressive buttoms when listening to this club oriented CD. Taken together, volume 8 is one of the best edition up-to-date. Well balanced both for club play as for your own enjoyment in privacy of your home. Sound sound sampler features fragments of 8 tunes taken from both CDs. I didn't feature original mixing by DJ DEAN, you just have to trust me it is good. Enjoy the sound and trip to exstatic sound of TRANCE and TECHNO!
awesome german techno trance.......2001-07-17
no doubt vol. 8 is by far the best of all the DJ Networx series, (i have 7,8,9) it starts with a very nice uproaring drum beat, very hard pounding techno that will keep you moving, and moving i first got the full mix from napster but then i decided to buy the original CD because is that good.. great to listen to in the car, with volume to the max base is very tight, the mixing is very powerful specially the cd1 my favorite track is lovemachine, smile & reality all of them from CD 1. they are melodious yet not cheesy or comercial, actually the whole CD 1 is superb , it really brings out the spirits of hard pounding fast techno-trance . this cd is a real jewl in my collection of electronica, a very slick and energetic mix.

Customer Reviews:
Excellent New Wave Compilation!.......2001-07-16
Since 1992, New Wave Compilations have been made all over the world and one of the few great collections has to be Pop and Wave! Two Disk sets with 36 songs with occassionally the hardest to find gems included, it is worth the import price. Volume 8 is as of 2001 the newest installment and it contains a wonderful blend of the bands that helped make some of the most innovative music including New Order, Alphaville, Eurythmics, Visage, the Specials, Simple Minds, Killing Joke, Big Audio Dynamite and more! All in all there are 8 volumes to the series (at least so far, I thought they were going to stop at 5 back in 1995 and they've put out three more since then!), plus some sequels such as Best of Pop and Wave (which contains extended dance mixes to some of the songs), Rock and Wave (brilliantly captures the gothic soundtrack of the early 80's!), and Punk and Wave. Sony Music Media from Germany couldn't have delivered such better mixes than the CD burner from an enthusiastic fan of the new wave movement! If you're a fan of new wave and looking for hard to find tunes, this is one of the collections you must have!
