Product Description
1967 Reissue. On of the psychedelic 'Freak Out' scenes most sought after releases and one of the oddest 'groups' ever to release a record. Basically the brainchild of producer Guy Stevens, Hapshash also featured graphic designer Michael English and boutique owner Nigel Waymouth and the five LSD influenced tracks on this collector's CD showed the trio taking the 60s 'free spirit' stance to new and uncharted areas.

5 out of 5 stars One of a kind.......2007-04-22

Anyone that is a serious collector of 60s psychedelia this is a must have.
i owned and still have the original vinyl and can say the CD is a splendid re-mastering. Quality is first rate.
i never myself dropped acid in those wild days even though deep into the scene having spent the Summer of Love in Greenwich Village.
But i can say i suspect this is the best way to take an acid trip without dropping acid:)
Though only just short of 37 minutes it seems longer as it can mesmerize for those that have an ear for beyond the fringe psyschedelia.
The Empire of the Sun cut lasts just over 17 minutes and is one whole side on the vinyl. i love the whimsical Ragnorok touch at the end of The Empire of The Sun
i now recommend the review by Carl Slim that is here, it is a fine review and i can't improve on it.Max90

5 out of 5 stars featuring: the Human Host and the Heavy Metal Kids.......2004-09-01

That's the full title. it's not actually a metal album, that's just a Burroughs reference. It's "free-form" rock, something that's pretty much dead now. 5 songs built around basic themes, with improv everywhere. Two have really cool riffs, and another is built around a chant of "ohm". Vocals are more to add a little colour here and there, rather than the focal point. These guys can actually play-not virtuosos, but I recognize standard chords, harmonica runs, and the ability to keep the beat, so don't believe everything you hear. Some of this is exciting, some is surprisingly relaxing & (I guess) good for meditation. This is a one of a kind (as far as I know), and I really think most open minded music lovers WILL appreciate this. One of these guys, I hear, eventually joined T.Rex, by the way.

3 out of 5 stars Gran portada.

5 out of 5 stars A real inspiration!.......2001-02-03

Ok, so the music does sound a bit "strange"! But I have it on VERY good authority that this is THE album that served as the inspiration for Buxx Banner's great band Major G and the G-Men. Banner confided to me that the secret of reproducing the unique sound on this album was the innovative use of a turkey baster as a musical instrument. Other innovations were the use of tupper-ware for percussion, and a death in the immediate family aided in obtaining the haunting vocals. this is truly an inspirational piece of music!

1 out of 5 stars This Album is Lame.......2000-11-05

I am sorry there is no option for zero stars, but one was as few as I could select. This "music" gave me a headache, as it sounded like a convulsion in a cookware factory. I am sure the appearance of this atrocity on an LP encouraged legions of talentless garage scum to aspire to their own albums, another reason to hate this one. Real musical instruments were optional, evidently, as was musical ability.

4 out of 5 stars Western Flier.......2005-05-18

I generally don't like overly folk-inspired music, but the French-Cajon influence of Western Flier from Hapshash & The Coloured Coat really is a great folksy-psychedelic album. Maybe just Very Fine. I recommend it, the song "Colinda" is perpetually stuck in my head.

3 out of 5 stars Hapshash.......2002-05-08

On this recording Hapshash have grown-up since their first self-titled recording which was more of just an extended jam with friends. It was also very raw sounding. This time they incorporate different styles (namely a little folk) and show more technical growth as musicians. There are times when the singers voice gets fairly dramatic, which some my find distracting. Over all it's a good recording but it probably won't blow you away if your looking for that elusive psychedelic CD to end all psychedelic CDs.

    Album Description

German reissue of 1969 album from British psychedelic pioneers. 'Western Flyer' (Imperial, 1969), with Tony McPhee & Mike Batt, was an essay in studio arrangement - the material (all covers) is distorted & disfigured by the wealth of electronic effects.

3 out of 5 stars Good for new Nsync fans.......2002-01-06

Each individual cd in this box set is a good single and well worth having.

BUT the set isn't that great of an idea, in my opinion. That's b/c if you're an nsync fan you might already have one or two of these singles, so it wouldn't be a good idea to get this and have double copies.

It's a good gift idea to someone who is a new nsync fan, and will probably be the best bet with new nsync fans.

Like I said though, each cd single is good and well worth having, so if you don't have any of these this is a good buy. (I do suggest calculating the price of each individual cd and adding them together... it's possibly a better deal for you might come out of buying each individually - many you can find in stores that cary import singles like these, and there's no shipping charge! - the price just seems a bit high for the quantity of singles included.)

    Hope my advice helped!!

5 out of 5 stars Great for the dedicated fans!.......2001-07-02

If you're one of those fans that HAS to have all the *NSYNC singles - this box is for you! Not only does it have all of *NSYNC's Euro releases, but it also comes with an *NSYNC t-shirt, keychain, puffy sticker and bumper sticker! It's a great collectors item :)

1 out of 5 stars Oh, pul-eeze! Just what we need - N Sync singles!.......2001-05-22

Not! I think this is probably the most boring and dull Limited Edition Box Set ever! Who cares about hearing N Sync's same, dull and boring singles over and over again?! This is for N Sync fans...period. Nobody else would appreciate this kind of thing (and I'm one of those non-N Sync fans!). So if you are an obsessive N Sync fan, then I guess this might as well be for you. But if you not an N Sync fan - or at least not obsessive - then you probably won't want to waste your money on this. Now if you want something really worth-while that is a Limited Edition, then get a Limited Edition Backstreet Boys CD...now there's where the REAL talent and music is!

5 out of 5 stars Awesome CD Box Set.......2000-10-09

This is a very, very awesome CD box set. It's well worth the price, I'd say. The items included are so... nice! Plus it's a limited edition of only 1,000, so whoever the 999 other people out there who own this, are considered the #1 fans in my book! Anyway, I highly recommend purchasing this set!
