The lovely Ms. Adu & co. stage yet another comeback with this leadoff single from the 2000 full length 'Lover's Rock'. Three mixes plus the video enhanced for your maximum pleasure. Expect the usual great grooves taken to yet another new level with the infusion of a few more pop elements including an organ & horns in the mix. The songs melody is vaguely reminiscent of Procol Harum's 'Whiter Shade of Pale' & Bob Dylan's 'Is Your Love in Vain'.

I really enjoyed this track&the various mixes added to it.Sade still has a Smooth vibe about Her&Her voice fits in really well with the arrangements here throughout the song.

If you are a Sade enthusiast, this CD is a must for your personal collection. I did not give it a perfect score of 5 only because having so many remixes of the same song on a single CD tends to be a bit redundant; however, each rendition is quite masterful and well done. I purchased the CD because of the video; just couldn't live without having it in my archive of Sade sights and sounds -- beautiful colors, imaginative settings, great sound quality and just an all-around keeper. Buy this CD; you won't be disappointed!

Tracks on the Australian bonus CD........2001-06-03

A previous posting noted that there were only 2 bonus tracks... don't know which CD they have but the one I own has 4 bonus tracks. As far as By Your Side goes, I love that album (as I love all Crowes albums... 5 stars all the way!) and it's a kickin' record. That out of the way, on to the bonus 4-track disc.

Track 1: It Must Be Over - Great mid-tempo rock song, with excellent verse and chorus.

Track 2: You Don't Have To Go - This one an acoustic rock song with an exceptional verse and great organ work. Also a great song but I can't help feeling it's a little unfinished.

Track 3: Twice As Hard - Live version of the Shake Your Money Maker song, recorded at Hard Rock Live.

Track 4: HorseHead - An acoustic version (with distorted vocals) of the By Your Side track. Frankly, this version doesn't do much for me.

In the context of The Black Crowes, both tracks 1 & 2 sound very much at home on By Your Side and would have fit perfectly on that record. These two tracks probably could have fit on Three Snakes And One Charm also. You Don't Have To Go could even have fit on Amorica. Overall, worth it for the first 3 tracks of the bonus disc.
