A dope remake.......2003-09-23
A lot of people tend to hate on this song because Jay and Pac didn't get along. They can't see that Jay, Nas, and many others are paying homage to him by doing things with his music. This is a dope track and Kanye remixed the Pac beat well, not to mention Beyonce's sweet voice sounds great alongside Jay. When I heard this song on the radio it made me want to go and listen to Pac's version again too. Both are great tracks.

I don't agree with the former review of this song; although 2Pac's "Me and my girlfriend" was a lot better, this is a good and decent version. I don't like Jay Z, but thanks to Beyonce's smooth and sexy sound Bonnie and Clyde comes alive again.

pac hated jay's guts and this is sad seeing jigga steals his songs and making them pop cartoon silly stuff and beyonce is not a thug girl whatsoever if pac was here he'll slap jay z and take beyonce.

FIRST: the above editorial review and track listing is totally incorrect - someone screwed something up and mixed it with another band.
But anyway, being a longtime fan of the TYGERS, I must painfully say that "MYSTICAL" is sad and pathetic comeback with veteran guitarist ROB WEIR. It seems that he just had to re-configure a legendary NWOBHM band with a revamped AD-HOC lineup of a bunch of nobodies just to kickstart his aging career all over again.
My scathing arguments about this album are:
1. Mr. Weir sounds like he really hasn't played guitar in ages and really sounds like an amateur. He was never an admirable guitarist to begin with.
2. New Vocalist, Tony Lindell, cannot touch the beautiful and harmonious vocals of the former JON DEVERILL; even former Jess Cox sounds a bit more compelling to hear (now that is pretty bad).
3. The production of "MYSTICAL" is really dull.
4. All of the songs are just very dull like dishwater and have no true metallic UMPH! to them. Maybe you might find yourself banging to "FIREPOWER" which is kind of cheesy anyway. "KEEP THIS ROCK ALIVE" might actually prompt you to show some appreciation for today's current "ALTERNATIVE/NU-METAL".
5. Former melodic albums like "THE CAGE", "THE WRECK-AGE" & "BURNING IN THE SHADE" (the most melodic)put "MYSTICAL" to shame - it's just that dull and very unappealing.
Enough said - you might want to buy it just because you are a longtime fan such as myself. If you are brand new to the TYGERS, then stay the hell away.
Tygers Of Pan Tang's come back?.......2004-05-05
Like many other bands, Tygers Of Pan Tang have changed line up several times. The best years were those with guitar player John Sykes (later to join Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake before forming his own band Blue Murder) and singer Jon Deverill in the band. On "MYSTICAL" (2001), Rob Weir is the only remaining original member and this album may be seen as a come back attempt. The material is sometimes very good and the opening "Detonater" sure gives a feeling of the good old days when metal was king. "Street fighter" might be the song with most in common with the early Tygers Of Pan Tang, while "Mystical" is a step forward. There are other tunes that are rather appealing, for example "Secret" with the unusual lyrics about secret agents (James Bond 007). "Keep the rock alive" has a rap inspired verse while the chorus is so called "cheer leader rock", but the real highlight is "Ride 4 free" - a song that has all the ingredients of great heavy metal. Bits and pieces on this album sure bring bands like Saxon to mind and those of you who were born and raised on New Wave Of British heavy Metal might take this album to your heart.
I don't know from where Amazon has got the information that this album is from 1987 because it's not, and the song list is not for this record.
Back with a roar.......2002-04-12
The tygers are back with a good album, Rob Weir being the only survivor from the eighties line up.
The album sounds superb, Managing to keep the raw sound off the guitars and good ead bangin' riff's.
There some great songs in Firepower, ride four free, Greed and few other's that will keep your going.
A must for any old metal eads and new.

crazy in love is a good enough song to get into the top ten and thats about it. beyonce' as a solo artist can do alot better than this. the wording is ok but it needed a little bit more thought than it had. she is a gourgous and very talented performer with a beautiful and i wish all the best for the future.
Uk single of Beyonce's #1 hit........2003-09-02
This is the UK cd single for the HUGE number one around the world by Beyonce. The first track is the original album mix of "Crazy In Love" (3:55) that has the horns and attitude that makes this song a classic. The next track is "Summertime" which despite featuring P.Diddy I still like. The main reason for buying for me is the Maurice Joshua Nu Soul Remix(6:27). Maurice Joshua has been mixing Beyonce since Destiny's Child's "Bills,Bills,Bills" and seems to frame her very well in the club mixes that he does. Excellent guitar and bass work on this mix. Classic!!!
R&B in its new groove.......2003-07-21
"Crazy In Love" defines how today's R&B should sound. There's a little 70's R&B vibe blended with a big modern day hip-hop sound entirely her own. This song is as good as her material with Destiny's Child. Mastering hit singles in one act is hard enough. Beyonce has mastered it in a second act, and that is phenomenal. She proves that she is very talented, therefore deserving the #1 spot on the singles charts. Jay-Z's rap feature is also great. I can't wait to get her CD "Dangerously In Love", which begins with this song.

Amazing Collection, Amazing Ensemble!.......2006-03-30
This set is an absolute gem, and for two reasons: First, because it is so rare and hard to come across; Second, because the quality of the music is at such a high level. This 5 CD SET ought to be part of every collection of fine music. Christopher Hogwood is one of the finest conductors of Baroque music that I've ever heard. The included rendition of Corelli's "Christmas Concerto" is the best recording I'v heard. As well, this set includes the complete "Four Seasons," which, while not exceptional, are quite satisfactory. This is a must own set for high quality recording collectors.

Jay-Z's first two singles from 2003's "The Black Album", which would be what he claims the final album he will release. We will remember Jay-Z for many reasons, but I think these are one of the best singles he has put out for us since "Hard Knock Life".
Dirt Off Your Shoulder is a great track. With a great beat and good rapping by Jay in this song, this is one of his greatest singles I have ever heard. As for the video, it is your usual rap video with Jay walking through the streets of New York City, getting inside cars and an interlude in the middle. This song is great... until you get to 99 Problems.
As for 99 Problems, this has to be the best song Jay-Z has ever released. Period. I can't explain how great it is, and all I can say is "tight". As for this music video, it is genious. It portrays the ghetto through the eyes of Jay-Z. It is in black and white, just to make it suspenseful. The video is pretty moving, and I think this is worth every penny just for it. Jay-Z gets shot in the end, which puts the icing on the cake.
If you haven't already picked up these singles, get the "Black Album". Even though it isn't Jay-Z's greatest, it has these two songs and another good crop of songs, like "Encore" and "Change Clothes". But, pick this up just for the videos. They are worth the extra few bucks. Got 99 Problems but a ***** ain't one!

Most of Jigga's new stuff ain't too good but I like this, 99 Problems is better even though Dirt Off Your Shoulder is tight, this is good for jiggaso check this out.
Great way to end a career.......2004-07-14
Jay-Z is definitely going out on top with these 2 singles. "Dirt Off Your Shoulder" is another terrific teamup for Jay and Timbaland (one of the best producers, in my opinion). I like this song much better than the first single for the album, "Change Clothes".
The best song by far is "99 Problems". Producer Rick Rubin, also one of the best producers, gives Jay a great song. The blend of rap and rock and the excellent lyrics make this one of the many highlights of Jay's career. It's too bad they won't get another chance to work together, if Jay-Z really does retire.
It's cool the videos for these songs are included. Both are very good and worth watching.
You can't go wrong with these 2 songs. Jay couldn't have picked 2 better singles to end his career on.

Jay-Z has always been a standout rapper, but as you probably already know, he has decided to hang up the mic. There's no better way to finish a hall of fame career than to release 2 outstanding singles in Dirt off your shoulder and 99 Problems. Dirt off your shoulder is a great song with an unusual beat and a catchy hook, a song that's got everyone across the world dusting off their shoulders. 99 Problems is the better song in my opinion, where Jay-Z goes into deeper issues like racial stereotypes, and it's backed up with an awesome guitar riff in the background. This is a must have for any Jay-Z fan, heck, anyone who likes their rap GOOD should have this CD.

Liza Minnelli's career went into high gear when "Liza With A Z" was aired on television and this great album from that spectacular award-winning special became a big-seller and LiZa concerts to this day are great events to experience!!! "Liza With A Z" needs to be released on DVD as this is a brilliant masterpiece from a legendary talent who delivers on stage with a power and force unlike anyone else!! As recent as August 2004, Liza stunned a sold-out audience in San Diego with a passionate performance that drew numerous standing ovations for classic standards and new athems such as the powerfully sung "What Did I Have That I Don't Have Now" from "On A Clear Day You Can See Forever" which Liza completely turned inside out. "Liza With A Z" opens with the charged and soulfully sung "Yes" and one can tell that this is a really a great singer in magnificent form. Never before has "God Bless The Child" been so masterfully sung and from such deep personal experience in the way that it is sung here and "It Was A Good Time" becomes a haunting and brilliantly sung athem that is stirring and disturbing at the same time. Liza continues in this landmark special with a great mix of rhythm rockers, sophisicated soul, torchy blues, then ends this legendary event with a superbly sung medley from "Cabaret" that is so completely stunning that the packed house is out of their seats cheering loudly! Hot off the success of this special plus an well deserved Best Actress Oscar for "Cabaret", Liza went into the recording studio and made a superb album which should have been a huge success but radio would not play this great work because at that time they would only play "singer/songwriters" therefore this narrow vision kept classic's such as "The Singer" from the general public. Collectors of great vocalists were aware of this great work and personally I wore out several old vinyl copies!!! Opening with a great uptempo rousing version of "I Believe In Music", one can quickly see that Minnelli is in superb form with great arrangements that compliment her soulful delivery which is at its peak. A haunting vocal make "I'd Love You To Want Me" a sensual listening experience while "Oh Babe, What Would You Say?" is a rousing music hall delight that was also thrilling in concert at this time. Liza rocks out with a great take on "You're So Vain" and does an amazing duet with herself on a smoking version of "Where Is The Love?". A haunting original that seems to gets its inspiration from Liza's Mom is "The Singer" which is a magnificent and emotional vocal that should have been a huge hit and would have been if radio would have played it. "The Singer" is a tight arrangement that is very catchy and Liza sings this great song with a great amount of passion that makes it an unforgettable listening experience. A totally awesome vocal turns "Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight" into a torchy athem and a wildly rhythmic "Dancing In the Moonlight" rocks out with Liza hitting gospel high notes and at her soulful best! Stevie Wonder must have loved Liza's great version of "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life" as Mr. Wonder himself sat in front of me at a Liza concert and was clearly having a great time!!! Smoldering and soulful is the closing "Baby Don't Get Hooked On Me" which is the definitive version as Liza makes this song memorable with her passionate and inspired delivery. Given any airplay at all and this great collection of songs would had numerous "hits" as some thirty years later it still sounds great and many are still listening to it and talking about what a great classic "The Singer" is!!! Do not miss this if you love great singers at their absolute peak!!!!!Is she the singer or the song????? BRAVO LIZA!!!!!!!!!!
