Tierra, Malo and El Chicano are awesome on this CD. I saw these groups together in concert just recently and was unaware of this CD as soon as they mentioned it I immediately went out and bought it! Definitely the best of "latin oldies"...

a wonderful calaberation of classic groups for young and old.......1998-12-28
Although i am only a young one i appreciate the music that many people my age and a little older were conceived by, and this collection i believe to be one of the best i own. it is lively and has flavor only found it the classics. This gives you a little taste of it all. The music really makes you want to get up and dance. the rhythems captivate you while your body moves. Latin Legends Live is wonderful, not just for the ones that were listening to these songs while they were growing up, but also for the younger generation to enjoy. Many may think the young ones have no taste for real music with all the stuff coming out in the 90's, but many of us do listen to the classics and this is one that i believe the young and the old can relate to and enjoy.

Customer Reviews:
An excellent concert. Timeless overtures........2003-12-27
It's a waste of time being harking on about this CD too much, but one of the greatest guitarists ever, Uli Jon Roth shows all the speed and heartless players how the guitar is mean't to be played. Pure bliss.
Michael Schenker Is On This Album !!!.......2003-05-10
How much would you pay to hear Uli Jon & The Mad Axeman duel it out on the UFO classic "Doctor, Doctor"? Whatever your answer is, it's not enough, because much of the music on this disc is priceless. If you have the Scorpion's "Tokyo Tapes" & UFO's "Strangers In The Night" on vinyl then you know where I'm coming from. Come on....you add Jack Bruce, Phil Mogg, Pete Way & the previously mentioned Schenker and what else would you expect.
Uli Jon's guitar switches gears from Hendrix inspired playing on songs like "Little Wing" to Clapton's riffs on "Sunshine Of Your Love" without breaking a sweat. The quality of the recording is really very, very good; all the instruments and vocals are very clear throughout. The only minor beef I have is Uli's playing on some of the UFO tunes; he assumes the role of rhythm guitarist with very little lead playing. After listening to those songs numerous times, however, my personal opinion is he just can't keep up with Michael (and not many can). But holy cr@p, when this album gets to the last few tracks, you better have at least 200 watts of power to do this recording justice.
If your a fan of 70's metal and remember how rock music used to be played, you owe yourself this cd.
Classics are timeless.......2002-12-07
When listening to this fabulous live album, i realize how sad and mediocre the present music panorama is. When classics do their best, there's no possible comparison... No present musicians make you feel like this album, in which there're superb moments, not of guitar heroes being the fastest fingers, but of truly artistic top moments. Guitars mix of Roth and Schenker in Doctor doctor and the final jam are absolutely awesome, along with Cream's, UFO's, and Hendrix's classics. One of the best live albums in the last years...
legends of rock kick a**.......2002-12-06
the cd recorded live at donnington is a classic cd of songs from jon uli roth and jack bruce and ufo. uli plays on every cut on this cd. having uli and michael schenker playing together on ufo classic "rock bottom" and"doctor doctor" are intsant classic live recordings . my fav track is uli doing along the watchtower nad the amazing ten min ute jam with michael schenker and jack bruce called fireworks jam

As Live and As Good As It Gets.......2004-04-29
Recently got this and sereral other Doug MacLeod CDs from Amazon. As usual,I was not disappointed. Doug MacLeod is the BEST blues man since Dave "Snaker" Ray first came on the scene.
This live CD is a joy. Juke Logan supplies some tour-de-force harp and Doug gives the best vocals and guitar in bluesdom(is that a word?)....With great songs like the powerful HIGH PRICED WOMAN, GREASE IN MY GRAVY, Juke's HUSTLER in which he does some wonderful Louis Prima style vocals, to the already classic DOOLAH and HEY BARTENDER, you can't go wrong with this album. I only wish I lived near where Doug performs so I could go see him like I used to 40 years ago...Come on back to Norfolk, Doug.
Do yourself a favor and get this CD. You'll thank me when you do.
Great, down home blues with a twist.......2001-09-24
I had seen these guys performing at BB King's in LA and was happy to see they had captured their onstage magic on tape. They have a great rapport and it shows on this CD....really funny and entertaining. So much blues sounds the same out there, but these guys are unique and stand out.
ACOUSTIC BLUES PARTY.......2001-03-21
Some of the music lovers complain that the blues is too sad and downbeat. "Live As it Gets" refutes that notion with funny songs,ad-libs,thoughts and introductions. This a one night acoustic blues party from a couple of guys who really play raw music. These are honest songs from a guys perspective talking about everything from a pretty woman "Tight White Pants" to a wife trying to turn her husband into eating health food, "Doug's First Protest Song". This is a good live cd that will get both men and women a few laughs, solidifying we do come from different planets.

Customer Reviews:
I was there too - great show - poor mix.......2005-12-14
I was at this show as well and although the sound could have been better, it was great night of music. That said, as a cd, this mix is muddier than many bootleg concert recordings I have, so I cant give it more than 3 stars.
Nektar - 'Live 2002' (Classic Rock Productions) 2-CD.......2005-02-17
The CD's title is incorrect,on the front cover,it reads 'Greatest Hits Live'.That's ironic because I never knew Nektar had any hits.Nonetheless,'Live 2002' is a great audio document of a moment in music history that many prog fans never thought would happen.Nektar with all five original members not only reunited to cut a new album, but toured AND came to play several dates upon U.S. soil. This is the third Nektar release I've ever had.Quite impressive.'Live 2002' took place at the annual New Jersey progressive Nearfest event. The setlist could've been a little better, but that's okay.Sound is great.Notice that maybe guitarist Roye Albrighton's vocals have lost a tad of it's range. But,what do you expect after nearly thirty years? Most of these cuts come from the lp's 'A Tab In The Ocean'('72),'Down To Earth'('74)and 'More Live In New York'('78).Even a couple that appear to be exclusive to this live release,"Recycled" and "Crying In The Dark/King Of Twilight".At least two hours of irresistible British progressive here.Line-up:Roye Albrighton-guitar&vocals,Mo Moore Bass-guitar&vocals,Alan Freeman-keyboards&vocals,Ron Howden-drums and guest Larry Fast-synth.Should appeal to fans of ELP,Focus, early Genesis and King Crimson.Recommended.
I was there..........2004-07-29
I'd waited nearly 30 years to see Nektar with Roye Albrighton. (I'd seen the Dave Nelson version, and though they were good, I wanted to see the "real thing.") Thanks to an old dear friend I was one of those lucky folks who scored a ticket during the 45 minute frenzy before they sold out.
The concert was, frankly, a bit of a mess; for about the first 40 minutes the mix was so bad you couldn't hear Albrighton's guitar. When they finally fixed it I was amazed; they were as good - to my ears - as they'd been on the '70s live albums like LIVE IN NYC. Awesome playing by all involved.
So when I had the chance, I ordered this CD. I popped it into my car stereo and, minutes into "A Tab in the Ocean," I had to pull over. I was crying happy. To have a document of such a peak moment is just wonderful.
But what about people who didn't see the show? Is this CD for you?
It has its mix problems too - mainly what I call "muddiness," a lack of good separation between the various instruments and vocals - but it's far superior to the hall mix in Trenton that day. Everything is clearly audible. The selection of tracks from the performance is impeccable (I only regret that they left out "Marvellous Moses"), and the playing is just superb. Yes, there are clams, but no trainwrecks. The four core members of Nektar, suplemented by two female vocalists, a percussionist, and synth wiz Larry Fast, whipped through two-plus hours of material from the classic Nektar albums, plus just one(!) song from the newest album, THE PRODIGAL SON. It's all good.
This wouldn't serve as a good introduction to Nektar, because of the sound, but for someone who knows the music and wants to hear it played live, this is great stuff. And if you're trying to decide whether to see them on their upcoming tour of the US with Caravan, this should help you make up your mind. (You'll go!)
Better than you might expect!.......2003-05-13
I must offer a rebuttal to the previous review here. While this recording is first and foremost for the established Nektar fan, it also serves as a decent introduction to the entire Nektar catalog. In general, it's always preferable to hear live renditions by a band at their "peak" which could be argued in Nektar's case to be somewhere between 1973 to 1976. Unfortunately, there aren't any high quality live recordings from this era, to my knowledge. The "Live In New York" and "More Live In New York" recordings from 1977-78 are the only legitimate recordings on the market, and they are of pretty low recording quality. This current set from 2002 sounds MUCH better!
I also take issue with the statement that Roye Albrighton's voice is "not what it once was." After 20-plus years, who's is? But he does hit most of the high notes quite nicely and the singing is certainly not a weak point here. Compared to a lot of rock singers at this stage of their careers, his voice is holding up quite well.
The musicianship of all involved is quite strong. These guys have clearly been active, and they have worked these classic songs into nice shape here. There isn't much rust that you can hear. Particular credit goes to Ron Howden, who sounds wonderfully crisp and muscular on the drum kit.
The energy and enthusiasm of the concert certainly comes across. Tickets for this concert sold out very quickly and you can tell the audience was excited to be there. These CDs are the next best thing we have if we weren't one of the lucky few.
A welcome blast from the past.......2003-01-10
I waited a long time for this release & I was fairly well satisfied. For those fans of Nektar I would strongly recommend this CD. The musicianship & frenetic energy is still there. What is not there is quality production. Voices maddeningly fade in & out or are so far in the background you begin to wonder if this was a bootleg. Roye's voice is not what it once was. You can hear him holding back from those old high notes. There should have more auditions for their choice of back-up singers. Finally, I would have also wanted to see more band photographs.
No matter. Nektar was one of my old college-day favorities. It was a pleasure listening to them again. "Fidgety Queen" alone was worth the price. Helluva show stopper!

A fine documentation of Junior Wells live.......2001-08-27
Admittedly, this may not be of the same caliber as Junior Wells albums like "Hoodoo Man Blues" or "Calling All Blues." Nonetheless, this album is more than deserving of its five star rating because it is simply a joy to listen to.
Performing at Buddy Guy's famous "Legend's" club, Junior Wells comes alive on stage in a way rarely captured in the studio. Wells seems to be inspired by the presence and he demonstrates his enthusiam for his fans with some excellent audience interaction as well as a level of passion which vastly exceeds that demonstrated on his recent studio albums. The songs here, though a bit on the funky side, are all highly enjoyable. "Broke and Hungry" and "Messin'with the Kid" kick the set off in funky style before Junior gets down to business with a fine version of "Hoodoo Man" and a haunting rendition of "Sweet Sixteen." One of the highlights is Junior's take on the Sonny Boy Williamson classic, "Help Me." With only the organ backing him, Junior brings an eerie ambience to the song not soon forgotten.
The harp is here, though like a lot of later day Wells material, it seems to take the back seat to his vocals a little too often. In good form, Wells is capable playing on the level of Little Walter, so it's a shame to hear his harp so often regulated to the background. Still, when he does pick it up, Wells reminds us that he is still one of the undisputed masters of the craft with very well played solos.
For any fan of Junior Wells, or blues, this is a highly reccomended album. The energy and passion Junior brings to the stage make this a must have live blues set.
Junior at his best! Tight back up band. He blows you away!.......1999-06-14
Was at the recording of this album. If you consider Juniors priorities, first an entertainer, second a singer, and third a harp player, than you'll realize this is junior at his prime. Rumor has it that Junior was aware of his illness at this time, and it appears that he is going out with a bang. from the openning tracks to the final note this album cranks. It will live in your C.D. player. This album is currently in my top ten of blues picks.

Customer Reviews:
Good tracks but not live in concert.......2006-05-18
Some of these tracks were also found on a '76 K-Tel release called "Little Richard Live!", a collection of 20 re-recordings of his Specialty classics. The dubious historian, wondering if if Little Richard finally delivered the live album to end all live albums, wondered not too long once the needle hit the groove: if it was "live", then it was *live-in-the-studio*. (Or they used some serious directional mikes). Whatever the case, no audience can be heard on the Specialty sound-alike takes done in Nashville in 1976, which make up seven of the cuts offered here; the remainder are three Specialty originals, three Vee Jays, and one presumptive leftover from a 1971 session.
There are many mediocre Little Richard remakes out there (on the out-of-print and in-print collector's market) but these '76 entries are worth hearing. Richard does a fine job recreating the original arrangements.
"Lawdy Miss Clawdy", ofcourse an "oldie" by then, originating with the man who convinced LR to mail a demo to a certain record company in California, is a great rendition, with Richard really strutting his stuff on the medium shuffle - if you love his piano then this is the track you'll be playing for many years to come. Another '64 "cover" is "Going Home Tomorrow" (aka "Goin' Home") a terrific workout on the Fats Domino blues. Don Harris breaks out his electric violin on this gem.
If you really want "Little Richard Live" then check out a recent set from Shout! with LR in top form in Boston from early '70; the "Okeh Club" set from '67, disappointing musically but containing some exciting parts; the apparently out-of-print "Let The Good Times Roll" from Bell Records - Richard with other acts from '72, again not what it could have been as Richard is given a full album side and gives us *three* cuts!; the lesser-known set from Modern, live in Atlanta, Georgia in '66, if you can take the grating (added) audience overdub. A great live segment is found on the European "Little Richard - The Specialty Sessions" Box which has June, '64 songs from a Paris venue. Finally, there is a set reported to be available, from Boston in '68 and '70, with poor to good sound on some numbers not immediately associated with The Quasar.
