Album Description
Schenker/Pattison Summit is a melding of musical super powers. On drums they enlisted help from one of rock's most well known drummers, Aynsley Dunbar (UFO, Journey, Starship, Whitesnake) before rounding out the line-up with power bassist Gunter Nezhoda (Pat Travers, Leslie West). Aptly titled "The Endless Jam," this CD contains extended versions of classic Gamma, Trower, Montrose, Traffic, Free songs and others which showcase Schenker and Pattison at the top of their game.
Customer Reviews:
Schenker-Pattison Summit - Endless Jam.......2007-01-12
Pattison's vocal was great and touching. Schenker's guitar was something out of the MSG and put you to another space of music.
Schenker Great+Pattison Mediocre=Good Cd.......2006-03-18
Pattison is the most faceless, humdrum vocalist I've ever heard paired with such great names in Rock/Metal like Dunbar and Schenker. His opening, disinterested yawn of "Hey Joe" stands as a complete outrage aginst the give it all you've got spirit of what I call Rock music. It astounds me that Ronnie Montrose worked with this club-level vocalist after Ronnie's stellar seventies stuff with Hagar (best stuff either of the two men ever did).
The fact that Michael got paired with Pattison is a disgrace. At best, Pattison sounds like a poor man's version of Phil Mogg.
Imagine Glen Hughes, Coverdale, Barden, Bonnet, Dio, even a VERY time wotn Ian Gillan with the otherwise great musicians on this disc. Then listen to Pattison. That's about the end of my attack on the man. Or not...
Schenker and Dunbar are fine, especially Michael. His solos on the old Montrose stuff are outstanding...probably better than the originals, and I can apply that to the Trower material as well. Michael is far from having become a tired old man. Although the cover of Whiter Shade of Pale is fatally flawed by Pattison's half asleep vccal (guess that goes for the album as a whole), Michael and Dunbar both manage to keep it interesting.
This release is for die hard Schenker fanatics whom like to hear him work with a great drummer. It fulfills THAT purpose, at least!
Buy this before Heavy Hitters by MSG, though even the worse of the guest vocalists on the latter mentioned lp sound like 1976-era Ronnie James Dio next to this Pattison loser.
Remind me to avoid the Nursing Home/ Old Folk's Bar 'N' Grill where Pattison picks up his weekly paycheck, would you?
Gee, glad I restrained myself when it came to remarking on the vocals!
This is a GREAT DISC.......2005-12-10
Yes, I know it sounds strange, Michael Schenker doing cover tunes, but this just flat out rocks! This one and it's slightly better companion "The Endless Jam Continues" are just fantastic and a great way to escape your cube while still sitting there. That's the beauty of good music- you can be a million miles away while some corporate stooge is giving you orders. Just nod your head, click on the mouse and JAM :)
Old Farts at Play!.......2005-02-22
Grizzled vets Michael Schenker, Dave Pattison, and Aynsley Dunbar team up to re-work a bucket of hoary old classics and danged if they don't generate a shower of sparks and some genuine heat. No mean trick given that you've likely heard many of these tunes a million times. I know I went in jaded and came out with my ears pinned back. Basically it's a Schenker does Jeff Beck-Jimi Hendrix-Robin Trower-Ronnie Montrose outing, and the German axemeister is stunningly clean, nasty and ferocious throughout. He's one of the few guitarists who can carry a long solo, continually escalating the power and dynamics, his hornet's nest flurries refusing to let your interest wander. He's in top form on the Hendrix chestnut "Hey, Joe" and does superb justice to Robin Trower's swirling and very moving "Long Misty Days." Longtime Trower fans will be familiar with Dave Pattison, who smoothly handles the warbling on everything except the opener - the Yardbirds' "Shapes of Things" - which seems to strain his reach and sense of phrasing at times. My only other quibble is that this clambake could have used at least one more balls-out rocker like "I Got The Fire", but all in all it's a solid, meaty work that is well worth killing your china pig to purchase.
Blues and rock--Schenker can do it all !!!.......2004-12-07
If you love the old Schenker (UFO-No Heavy Petting, etc.) you will love this C.D. This is the first C.D. I have purchased that I truly love in the past five years. If you love Schenker you will love this C.D.

Schenker rips...........2007-03-02
...but this is pretty boring over all. He didn't have his heart in it I guess.
So Good You'll Have to Change Your Religious Beliefs.......2007-01-27
The best electric guitar solo work in my collection. Schenker demonstrates absolute mastery of the instrument, especially on tracks 2 and 4. Definitely buy this album.
nice covers.......2006-03-08
enjoy this for what it is...great musicians doing someone elses tunes....it does suck that they never hooked up..
SWEET, ROCKIN COVERS- Schenker/Pattison Summit DELIVERS!.......2005-12-21
Schenker/Pattison Summit flat out rocks and you must get this cd!
I think this cd free's up Mr. Schenker to do what he does best ->SOLOS. Pattison's vocals remind of Paul Rogers and that's ok by me!
Is this the world's best covers? NO, Is it fun to crank at high volumes driving fast- YES!
The sum of it's parts are really greater than just some dudes doing covers. This cd grows on you!
BTW- For a totally different listen try Mr. Schenker's- "Thank You" series, wonderful instrumental accostic.
Great line-up..........2005-10-27
but why is Schenker doing covers every other album. These guys really didn't jam together either. Davey Pattison has a great voice (check out some Gamma & later Trower records) & you can't go wrong with Dunsbar on the skins, but why not put out some original material? I'm sure Bogert and Pattison must have had a few dozen songs, half-songs, partial songs lying around somewhere that they could have brought to life. Putting out 1 cover record was one thing, but doing a 2nd was just laziness on Schenker's (and the others) part.

Schenker's Complete Mastery of the Electric Guitar.......2007-06-26
I haven't got time just now to properly review this album. Let me just say, though, that recently me and a few friends were driving through the Welsh countryside and we were playing this album at the time. I remember being completely blown away by Michael Schenker's guitar-soloing on While My Guitar Gently Weeps and exclaiming - 'that was the best guitar-soloing I have ever heard'. I am not unfamiliar with the great technicians - such as Jeff Kollman, Steve Vai, Steve Lukather, and others. Schenker, though, reaches down into the soul with the harrowing beauty of his playing. To paraphrase Wittgenstein, 'technique only shows when genius fades'. Well, in Endless Jam and Endless Jam continues, Schenker's genius reasserts itself - as I suspect it always will, to the end of his days!
