      5 out of 5 stars Overkill at it's best!.......2003-06-06

No i'm not saying this is their best CD, but it's a very good one none the less. I have all the Overkill CD's (including this one) and i have had this on cassette.

Well what can you say this album is sweet, the song Fuck You rocks! and the live tracks are fairly descent too. The only thing that gets me is the fact that they included E.vil N.ever D.ies, which if you are an overkill buff, this song came out quite awhile after Fuck You, and doesn't really fit. But don't let that little thing get you down, i'd highly recommend this CD. Weither your an Overkill fan, or at least liked Taking Over & Feel The Fire, this won't dissapoint. Normal Metal heads or newbies too Overkill may wanna start at their first CD Feel The Fire then Taking Over, then if you like them, Get this! Then just listen too the rest of Overkill, and you'll likes.

      5 out of 5 stars ... and Then Some!.......2001-10-14

Classic release of the original EP which was put out a decade ago. The band saved me money by putting this to CD - I burned through about 5 copies of the cassette. This rips from beginning to end. If you like Overkill, this is a staple to the catalog.

3 out of 5 stars An improvement over the original ep.......2001-09-03

This is the re-issue of the original ep Overkill released in 1987.This one though includes the out of print Overkill ep and new live tracks. This addition makes the collection a little more improved for die-hards.Purists or casual Metal fans will not like this. The sound of the disc is muddled and scratchy throughout.Only the studio title track sounds fresh and clear. The 1990 live tracks are better sounding than the ones from 1987.Their cover of Black Sabbath's Hole in the sky is excellent.Overall Overkill fans should get their Wrecking Your Neck-Live set to hear awesome live music.

      3 out of 5 stars A Re-release with bonus tracks.......2000-08-12

I have the original F**k You CD, I noticed that the band added some more tracks from the newer CDs. I liked the original F.Y. CD. One has to remember that Overkill was not one of the biggest bands in the Eighties. These Guys torn it up Underground, in small venues. The sound quality matches this type of arena. Remember these guys are not a bunch of pansies singin' girly songs. These guys put out some good METAL. Explore and enjoy!

5 out of 5 stars Extended version of a Classic EP.......2000-08-10

I bought the original F**k You cassette in the Mid-80's. It was touted as "The album they tried to ban" It had this real generic white cover on the front, I guess to please the censors/PMRC. But when you opened it up, it had the original Middle Finger artwork inside and you could turn the cover inside out. The sound was totally raw and in your face. 1 studio cut (the title track) and 4 live cuts. This new version has a few more gems tacked on. I'm happy this is released on CD, finally because I was worried about wearing out the tape. This is when Speed Metal was in its infancy and was completely raw. Buy this album, you will NOT be disappointed.

I just HATE it when people give cd's one star when they don't deserve it. So take that!

5 out of 5 stars Don't Listen to The Previous Review!.......2000-09-24

This album rules, hands down. There is not an ounce of ska or rapping on it. This is lightning-fast, hardcore punk rock, 100% pure. And The Almighty Trigger Happy was one of the finest punk rock bands ever, period. They've broken up now, which sucks, but you can still get this album, along with I Hate Us, a split cd they did with Misconduct (a Swedish hardcore band), and As A Matter of Fact, a quintuple split along with Good Riddance, Strung Out, Ill Repute, and Satanic Surfers. Don't pay attention to that goofy one-star review. Bob Dylan and Rage Against the Machine are not punk rock, so why would any self-respecting punk rocker listen to them? But if you like high-quality hardcore punk rock, pick up this disc (and the others I mentioned) right now!

1 out of 5 stars What is this.......2000-09-16

Can you please tell me that nobody said this horrendous album is good. As a matter of fact the songs are loud hevy ska influences with rapping whats wrong with modern music. Go get some Bob Dylan or Rage Against the Machine in your system. The vocalists throaty roar is equal to the purr of a cat. It has good instrumentals. Don't Buy this album!

"Warm Miami May" and "See Through Plastic" are well worth owning, and for any Air Miami/Unrest fan(not to mention early Velocity Girl), these tracks will suffice until they put out something new. When exactly that will be nobody knows.

        Customer Reviews:

        3 out of 5 stars A little strange.......2007-07-09

I'm not really sure what to think of this album. I like punk and I like Ryan Adams. I know he's pretty experimental and that can be good or bad. This album is like someone took the Sex Pistols, Black Flag, and King Missile and threw them in a bag together with this album falling out. I can't say whether I like it or not. It's very confused. Average 3 out of 5 is all I'm comfortable saying. Decide for yourself

3 out of 5 stars stick the finger down your pants.......2005-05-07

I like both punk/hardcore and Ryan Adams, so I had to check out this album. Pretty good, considering this is really just a couple glorified studio sessions of Adams and Jesse Malin messing around with some (probably drunk) friends. It does well in many of the traditions of the genre -- it's loud, fast, angry and short with few guitar hooks and little to no production. Some of the songs are down-right fun to scream along to, like "No Roolz." That said, I think this is partly just an Adams "f*ck you" to people who want him pick one genre and stick within its confines. While it is totally listenable (given that you enjoy this type of thing), there is better out there.

5 out of 5 stars The Finger is a hardcore masterpiece.......2004-09-19

The beauty of the songs on this album surpasses anything I have ever heard before. If your taste for hardcore is feeling the need to be perkalated, this is the album for you!

1 out of 5 stars Short Songs, terrible music, poor lyrics.......2004-02-09

I love Ryan Adams and Jessie Malin, so I had to have this album. It is unfortunately the worst album I have bought in a long time. Even the biggest fans should not waste their time with this one.

4 out of 5 stars Snakes and Scorpions are Cool?.......2003-10-05

Black Flag + Fugazi + Replacements = Yes.

2 out of 5 stars Not for fair weather fans.......2003-08-20

As a huge Ryan Adams fan and Jesse Malin fan I had to buy this cd. It was only available as an import at the time (even though it was recorded in NY). I love these guys so I shelled out the extra cash. With that said I pretty much hate this cd. I have never been a fan of "hardcore" music and that is pretty much this cd. It is basically just Ryan, Jesse, and two friends getting nuts for the hell of it. It reminds me of Black Flag and Rollins Band with a little Deady Kennedys thrown in. I appreciate bands like this but I don't enjoy listening to them all that much. If you're a fan of Ryan or Jesse because of their singer/songwriter stuff you might want to skip this one. Neither of them sing on it. A guy named Colin Burns (who also did all the freaky artwork) sings (yells actually) all the songs. The songs are also very short. We're talking less than a minute a couple times. I love The Ramones so I don't mind this but this cd is not The Ramones.
Ryan Adams and Jesse Malin are truly talented and I love their music but I don't recommend this cd. However, I do think it is cool that they can do different things like this. Maybe the name "The Finger" means that is what they are giving to anyone who doesn't like this cd. So **** me I guess.
