About the Artist
I would say the best way to describe David's Music would be Heavy Rock. Right on the verge of Heavy Metal, but kicking out that ol' foot stomping, loud guitar, Hammond organ Hard Rock. A veteran of the Metro Detroit nightclub scene since the age of 15, David has taken his music career very seriously. Owner of his own record label, publishing company and recording studio, David is well on his way to success with or without the major companies. David was raised with music through his father, Neil Andrew Cline who played with the great Danny Zella & The Zellrocks in the late 50's early 60's. David's father was also a very versatile musician and played many instruments. Growing up, there were electric 6 and 12 string guitars, an electric bass, an organ, piano and other various instruments and recording equipment available for David to experiment with. David remembers being very young when his uncles would come to their house for what he calls family jam-a-thons. David would do his best to keep up. Surely a very influencing and great learning experience that led him to where he is today. David's first EP album "A Fit of Rage" was released on vinyl only in the late 80's. Distributed nationally by Important Records, it sold very well in Japan and Europe. Years later the album was remixed, remastered, one song dropped and two new songs added, then released on a CD called "A Fit of Rage(remix plus two)." There are only a few copies of this CD Left. They can still be found at various Internet stores. David is currently remixing the CD a final time. Adding the original version of the song that was dropped, "I've Been Told" then adding two more never heard before songs. It will now be a full length CD under the name, "A Fit of Rage(final mix)." The music on this CD has been compared to Iron Maiden/Black Sabbath style. The lyrics of this album being very negative and political.
David's second album is a full length LP called "Malefic Influence." Released on cassette and vinyl, it too was distributed by Important Records for a short time nationally. Due to the small amount of vinyl pressed and distributed, these vinyl albums have been seen selling for $50.00 to $100.00 dollars a copy in record stores and show's all over the world.. Now this album has also been remastered to CD and is getting a lot of well-deserved attention. Performing more keyboard tracks such as the Hammond organ, this album has been said to have a Deep Purple/Yngwie Malmsteen feel to it. ZRock (WDZR) in Detroit had given him major airplay in the 1990's and later released the song "Governmental Brainwash" on a compilation CD called "ZRock Best of Detroit stuff Volume 1". Many tracks from this CD have been getting continuous airplay by Internet Radio stations such as; indieport.com, m4radio.com, electric basement.com, amp11.com, Radio Crystal Blue, Snake Net Radio, Radio Plugit, ALCHEMICAL RADIO and many other net stations.
David's third album "Thorough Scrutiny" was released this past summer 2001. Taking a kind of Frank Zappa approach to the production of this CD, David has intertwined the songs with his own blend of comedy, strange keyboard effects and whatnot. This really makes this CD more interesting and less typical compared to the average hard rock album that have a pause between songs. Unfortunately the quality of the songs vary because of the different formats that they were recorded on. But David's fans don't seem to mind. Thorough Scrutiny has been getting great reviews all over the world! It too has been getting continuous airplay on many radio and Internet stations. This CD also includes two remake's. "Follow Me" written by the late blues guitarist Rory Gallagher, and a very cool live version of the song "Snortin Whiskey" by Pat Travers. Anyone that liked David's earlier releases will love this CD. David and his band are currently working on a brand new CD. Featuring Todd Reed on Lead and Rhythm guitar, Karl Rude on Drums, J.D. Donnelly on Bass, and of
