Customer Reviews:
psychedelic rock punk (rap).......2005-03-30
This is a dangerous band a little like the younger Kasabian, the singer is more in a rap/punk mode. This band is really special ...I like nearly all tittles (maybe 2 that i don't hear often) I don't remember well(one of my friends has my album and now is livin' in California!) but i think it's the tittle 7 ...my god it's a giant psychedelic masterbuilder...this song really make you trip ...some other tittle are nearly has psychedelic has this one...psychedelic (often old) records it's what i like ...so Campag Velocet are this ...an adventurous special band...it's strange that they don't became more popular!?
If you like psychedelic or original punk band so buy this ...you won't be disappoint (kasabian, oasis, primal scream fan will enjoy it)!
Madchester's Psychadelic Sgt Pepper.......2003-10-12
Occasionally I'll be impressed with an unrecognized gem, and 'Bon Chic Bon Genre' certainly fits this description. A diverse musical palate, just think the strong rhythmic sensibility of the Stone Roses meeting the acid-drenched vibes of 'A Storm In Heaven' period The Verve. The Johnny Rotten/Keith Flint chants is a sharp contrast to the music, which straddles between Nick McCabe's trippy guitar whines and The Edge's haunting riffs. Yet this bittersweet combination compliment each other quite nicely, where the listener drifts through changing musical landscapes, continuously driven by rhythmic backbeats. If you listen closely, The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays and Charlatans UK can all be found here, but instead of E and baggy clothes, this album takes you on a more enchanting journey. As Madchester was about community, 'Bon Chic Bon Genre' is more about mysticism and inner peace. Ultimately, both achieve the same thing, which is discovering the intoxicating power of music. The spirit of Madchester lives in this CD, but under the glowing atmospheric haze of psychadelia and incense.
Trashy british punkpop.......2003-03-25
Belgian????I'm sorry to disappoint but they are very, very english and most certainly rock 'n roll! They really remind me allot of The Stone Roses but with tons more reverb going on.(They are the first i dare to compare to the Roses, by-the-way).
There's this thing with their music; it always makes me sort of wanna trash my room or something, must be because of the reverences to Kubrics "clockwork orange", too much 'Campag Velocet Synthemesc' perhaps. If you've seen the movie you might remember the Drencrom Velocet Synthemesc they drank before they got ultra-violent and started doing all kinds of naughty stuff. So thats probably it. Enjoy
