Outstanding!.......2007-03-26
This cd contains all the great songs that make us so love Anastacia. She is at her best and a must have for your collection.
You can never go wrong with Anastacia.......2007-01-01
Good mix of her greatest songs. Although it is hard because I think all her songs are great.
Catch up to Europe.......2006-11-04
Anastacia is HUGE in Europe - hopefully here in the US we'll catch up to Europe. If you're considering checking out Anastacia this is the album to do it. She has too many great songs to list them all here. To describe Anastacia you have to picture the body of a blond Shania Twain with the voice of Taylor Dayne. Her music can be considered Euro Pop or Top 40 rock. If you check her out you won't regret it.
What a beautiful sound.......2006-04-23
Paid My Dues is wonderful,I'm Outta Love, Left Outside Alone,Sick and Tired are also super!.I Belong to You is as good as the others.I think these 5 songs are even enough.Anastacia has a unique and very beautiful sound.
Anastacia Pieces of a Dream LIMITED EDITION.......2006-02-22
I absolutely love this collection; it is her best. Any one that is looking for a great collection on a great artist; this is it. I for one; would have rather have other versions of her remixed songs; but they will suffice. I love Anastasia; she's a wonderful artist, a talented woman and a survivor.

Customer Reviews:
Good album, but not the book size case though.......2007-03-30
I got a chance to buy this album after saving up some money for it. I thought I was getting a CD set in a typical case, but Sony decided to make it in the size of a book, and put the CD's in the sleeves of the book, which I don't like about the CD set. The 1st CD has some of her best CD's, and I believe they were put in the order of song's release. I'm Outta Love gave Anastacia her big break. Not That Kind is ok, but not my overall favorite though. Cowboys & Kisses sounds a bit country, which had this song been released in the United States, it might have been lucky to get promoted on AC stations, as Pop stations wouldn't have touched this song. As for the Freak of Nature Album, Paid my Dues being a song about Anastacia finally making it big in the music business. I usually don't hear songs about that. One Day in Your Life is the European version, where it sounds a bit computerized, plus the song fades out as she sings toward the end, where the American version had a few extra seconds of instrumental music at the end. I prefer the American version better. Why'd You Lie to Me reminds me of someone that cheated on me, and can relate to the song. You'll Never Be Alone is one of my favorite love songs.
From the Anastacia album, this album has Left Outside Alone, which is my overall favorite song from her. It has a rock sound to it. I only wished Sony did a better job trying to promote this song in the United States, but they didn't do a good job at it. Sick & Tired & Heavy on My Heart, being emotional songs, talking about her struggle with Breast Cancer, and overcoming it. As for the New Songs, I like the duet she did with Ben Moody, and the song also appears on the Fantastic Four Soundtrack. I Belong to You would be a good song in my book, if Eros Rammonazzi (Don't believe the name is spelled right) sang his part in English, instead of Italian. Now if this album had been released in the United States, that song would either have been sung with someone else in place of Eros, or removed completely. The Club Megamix should have been left off of disc 1, as it didn't sound right at all. It was mish-mashed songs, which I don't like. The 2nd disc has the remixes, which is where I want to hear the remixes.
As for Dance remixes, I heard the I'm Outta Love [Hex Hector Radio Edit] at a South Bend Indiana nightclub in 2000, which exposed me to Anastacia's music. Left Outside Alone [M*A*S*H Radio Mix] sounds a bit bland, but the Jason Nevins Global Club Edit of the same song fits the lyrics & beat better. Sick and Tired [Jason Nevins Funkrock Remix Edit] in my opinion shouldn't even been remixed. To me, it doesn't sound right speeded up. One Day in Your Life [Hex Hector/Mac Quayle Club Mix] is a bit too long for my listening preference. The Almighty Mix version of the same song fits my style better. Love Is a Crime [Thunderpuss Club Mix] & Cotto's Doin' the Crime Mix are both good remixes, and couldn't stop listening to them. I only wished the original was included on disc 1. Sick and Tired [Jason Nevins Funkrock Remix Edit] & Jason Nevins Electrochill Remix Edit are also good remixes, though I believe the Jason Nevins Electrochill Remix Edit is the better version. Lastly I like Boom [Thunderpuss Tribe-A-Pella Mix], which sounds close enough to the original. The song from FIFA, which makes me wanna dance, whether to the original, or the remix.
If it weren't for the book case & the album leaving off Boom & Love is a Crime from disc 1, I'd give the album 5 stars.
A TRUE MUSICAL DIVA...USA MAKE UP!!!.......2006-10-20
I first viewed Anastacia about 15 years ago on MTV a talent show if you will. She placed in second which was a joke. Anatacia has the "WHOLE" package!!! I live in Florida and she is Hot here. It is to bad that the rest of the USA does not play or carry her music. She by far is a True Diva! This CD is "outstanding" as well as her others were. This is the best of Anastacia and has new releases that have not been released in the USA. It is a double CD and is simply more than I could have asked for. The first CD is the best of her singles and some new songs, the second is if you will a dance mix of her singles which again I will say is "outstanding" My Compaion and I had the Pleasure of seeing her live and I have yet to see another female artist give what she has in the pop world. When comes to great muics for dance and Love this is it! I only again wish that the USA would treat this Diva as she should be instead of her having to cross seas to become a HOT Female Artist. Anastacia has the Voice, look, body, personality and the presentation to out any female pop artist out today in the USA! I look forward to her next release knowing it will be better than that last as each one is. Oh this comes so wonderfuly packaged with a huge book like carrier. With words to each of her songs and some wonderful pictures of her. If you even think you like Her this is a Must have!

Pieces of a Dream - A nicely assembled package!.......2006-06-27
Love it! Anastacia's Greatest Hits. This release that I purchased was the import. Please note: The U.S. Domestic release does NOT include the Dance Remix Bonus CD. In my opinion--the best part of this album. Not that I don't love all the rest of Anastacia's tracks...but alas, I already own almost all of the other great songs in this collection---previously released. Most artists do this when releasing a retrospective---with a few new releases as incentive for Die-hard fans to purchase an album containing mostly songs they already have. With that said---If you dig Anastacia, get this import CD set. It comes packaged in a very slick little picture book (hardcover) with 2 CD's fitting neatly inside the front and back covers. Be careful handling the CD's as they tend to be more prone to surface scratches in packaging like this. The Domestic release of "Pieces of a Dream" include a dance mega-mix of Ana's more popular hits. The bonus CD contained in this import version have DJ remixes of "One Day in Your Life", "I'm Outta Love", "Paid My Dues", "Boom", "Sick & Tired" and others (albeit more remix radio edits than I would've liked!). The remix disc has 14 tracks altogether. Some are different versions of the same song---but still really cool! Disc 1 has 17 tracks. "Everything Burns", "You'll Never Be Alone", "Not That Kind" and "Left Outside Alone" being some of my fave tracks. If you only have her "Freak of Nature" album--you'll get quite a few tracks that were only available previously as import releases. My partner & I saw her live here in Palm Springs,CA---she is an amazing talent with an enormous voice, striking beauty and killer style! Being a huge inspiration to both of us, we had to seek out and obtain all of her albums. Do yourself 2 favors: 1-Buy this CD set. 2-Do a search on Google for Anastacia Lyn Newkirk---you'll find out alot about one amazing little lady!!!
The Worlds Best Kept Secret!.......2006-03-28
Anastacia is...the worlds best kept secret! And this mix of greatest hits is the best way to join in on all the RAVE!
Pieces of a Dream.......2006-01-17
I just got this today from UK Amazon (cheaper than on here) and I was stunned that it came in a "book"-like package. The package is amazing and beautiful with the lyrics inside on the pages. The CDs are in sleeves in the front and back of the package.
But what really counts is the tracks and amazing remixes on the remix CD. By the way, the description on here is wrong for the special edition. There is no DVD included in the packaging: just Disc 1 (with all her hits and 4 new songs and a megamix) and the remix disc. There will be a DVD being released of her Live at Last tour in March, so look for that.
All of her singles are here (except for Boom and Love is a Crime, though they are on the remix disc) as well as 4 new songs. The title track and new single, Pieces of a Dream, which is amazing and a pure Anastacia rock ballad. There's also I Belong to You, with Italian singer Eros, another ballad and In Your Eyes (ballad) as well as her contribution to the Fantastic 4 soundtrack with Ben Moody, Everything Burns. The club megamix is a almost-12 minute dance tour de force, including her biggest hits, totally remixed. It is amazing.
The remix disc is really good too, including some rare remixes of her biggest hits as well as to Love is a Crime and Boom. It's an amazing addition to have to this greatest hits set.
It really sucks that she isn't more known in the US. Most of my friends don't know who she is. I hope that whenever she releases her fourth studio album, she works harder to try and break the US. I really hope she can get successful here in the US.
So buy this awesome greatest hits package! You won't regret it.

Customer Reviews:
Why did they bother?.......2004-11-08
This box-set is pretty much a waste of everyone's time. The compilers have put far too much of their own (lack of) personality into the song selection and packaging for it to be of any lasting interest or worth to Scott Walker fans, whether of the casual or obsessive persuasion.
The compilers treat this box-set as five separate compilations, all leading "into the heart of Scott Walker", or some such pretentious blather. Much of Scott Walker's output does lend itself to the idea of compiling along thematic or stylistic lines, as opposed to strict chronological order, since he was often producing music in different styles or genres at the same time, often to the confusion of the listening public. These five "thematic" compilations, however, are far too personal and incomplete to cater for anyone other than the compiler themself. The themes themselves are generally infantile and the song selections are arbitrary; songs are most often grouped together on the basis of lyrical content or song titles. A more musically literate approach is necessary in compiling Scott Walker, no matter what the thematic decisions may be. Entire aspects of Scott Walker's recording career are disregarded (eg. most of the Walker Brothers, non-Brel covers from Scotts 1&2, the TV Series, early 70s albums) presumably in the interests of stressing the "cooler" and more fashionable aspects. There's a spare hour or so of unused space over the five discs which should have been put to use.
The booklet is a bit of an embarrassment, offering only sparse, generally idiotic quotes from celebrities, collected in an apparent attempt to convince us (or for the compiler to convince themself?) that it's cool to be into Scott Walker. Apart from that there's a short "Compiler's Note", comprising a lecture that goes on about how completists wear anoraks and don't listen to music, and rarities are rare because they're not worth hearing - no wonder no-one put their name to it. Never mind rarities (of which you won't find many on this box-set), what about (for example) some of the best tracks from Scott 4? And surely part of the point of a box-set is some sort of analysis, perspective, even information about the artist and the recordings? The booklet is a waste of paper, and the packaging overall is cheap and impractical.
The sound quality seems fine, but with no marked improvement over previous releases containing this same material.
The strangest thing about this box-set is that presumably it received approval from Scott Walker himself for its release. As he's apparently vetoed the release of other unavailable Scott Walker albums on CD, making fans go in search of old vinyl copies or bootlegs, and many CD releases are now out of print, it seems strange to be approving pointless releases like this. Just make the original recordings available - we can make our own compilations!
Unlike Scott Walker's music, this box-set seems to be going for style over substance. Even that wouldn't be so bad if the compilers had any...
AVOID. Go with the individual albums........2004-02-19
OK, so, i adore Scott Walker but i have to say that this piece of crap was a complete let-down. The only reason i gave it two stars is because of the remastered versions of the tracks off "Climate of Hunter" and "Nite Flites" and some of the b-sides and soundtrack work. "Pola X" in particular is virtually impossible to find.
BUT WHAT on earth were they thinking? It's so weird, the way they pass off these quotes from contemporary artists as "liner notes." Is a casual fan going to shell out upwards of a hundred bucks for an artist they are unfamiliar with because Thom Yorke says to? Doubtful. So why are they trying to talk-up and sell us on the music that we obviously already love? I couldn't give a rats ***!
I thought the testimonials adorning the recent american NEU! reissues were very effective in "selling" the music to "the kiddies," but those were single discs and not such a big investment.
The track listing is also terrible. The set eschews chronological or any other sensible order in favor of some random guy's tastes. My copy does not have the manufacturing error some have reported on disc 3. I wish it did because I could copy the 6 tracks I need and return the thing.
Two other box sets I own, Velvet Underground and Burt Bacharach, are beautifully put together with extensive liner notes and tons of great photographs. I still spend time just looking at and listening to them. Scott is definitely on par with Burt and Lou in terms of influence and strange brilliance, so why is this set so skimpy and stupid? i'd like to smack the idiots who ILL-conceived it.
get this and you'll be done.......2004-01-15
I know many fans, some who have reviewed here, aren't completely happy with this set. I certainly agree with the packaging quality. I just purchased Zombie Heaven, the complete Zombie collection, who were contemporaries of the Walker Bros. That set raises the standard for box sets of obscure artists.
But I still give this a five outta five. Considering just how uncommerical this guy's music is these days, (regardless of what era of Walker career you pick!) and how many strange looks I get when I play it, the fact that we have a new box set at all is a wonderful thing.
Fans of Dvine Comedy, Pulp, Suede, Bowie,Tricky,Tom Jones, Bjork,The Zombies, should check this guy out he influenced them all. The sound is great on my set.
There are many flawed sets.......2004-01-14
There is a confirmed problem with Disc Three. Virgin and Tower Records have both contacted Mercury about the one-channel only Disc Three. Be warned.
The review below is flawed.......2004-01-10
I just received my copy today from Amazon and Disc Three is fine. Clearly, the whole pressing is not defective and clearly there was no problem in mastering. My advice to Ferrara Brain Pan is to contact the label and ask for a new copy of Disc Three.

The Second Single to Be Lifted from their Debut Album "Contraband".
Customer Reviews:
A Great Ballad Accompanied By A Ripping Cover. .......2004-12-13
By now it should be known by all that Velvet Revolver, the ultimate fusion of Guns N' Roses with Stone Temple Pilots, is no failure and they have conquered the current American rock scene. If anything they prove veterans can still rock harder and meaner than any new Punk band. Their first single of their debut "Contraband," "Slither," was a crawling, almost tribal jam with Scott Weiland evoking to Slash's sonic assault. But now we have "Fall To Pieces," the single that proves the guys also have heart. It's a lovely power ballad with some great melodies coming off the strings and Weiland not sounding fake but like an authentic frontman letting out some angst. Slash's solo is an intricate example of the days when real metal trotted the Earth. The song slowly builds up to a stunning climax with both passion and fury. One of the treats here is a cover of Cheap Trick's "Surrender," the band breathes life into the song with ferocious energy and style. The chorus soars and it's simply a great cover of an already great song. And of course there's the video for "Fall To Pieces" which is gritty and almost disturbing, showcasing the realities of Weiland's more insane, drug-binging days. A strong video for a strong song. For those interested I suggest to purchase their entire debut, for those who only enjoyed this little tune this is the CD to get.

Customer Reviews:
Truly amazing!.......2003-10-09
Perhaps one of the best pianists of the century plays the music that saved his life...
Highlights are the Bach recording, which is thrilling and brilliantly played, and the two (count them!) recordings of Chopin's nocturne. Played with tons of emotion--keep in mind this particular piece saved his life--the last recording especially is truly heart-rending.
For anybody who's ever heard a piano and liked it, or for any classical music person, this is an absolute must. I listen to it over and over, and never get tired of it. It's unfortunate he didn't record CDs and CDs and more CDs of stuff I could go out and buy. You need this CD.
Even if, like me, you have yet to see the movie.
And a special thanks to the Polish radio people, who salvaged these for our immense delight in listening!
Nostalgia.......2003-08-22
This is an 'enhanced' cd.
CD includes a video of Szpilman performing Chopin's Nocturne C# Minor (1980).
Insert is full of photos with a brief life history.

Album Description
The first new material since 2001's highly acclaimed 'Life, Love & Leaving' LP suggests that the Detroit Cobras haven't wasted their time away. They've come back better, louder & sexier. Once again, covering seven obscure R&B gems in their inimitable wildcat style, their sound is a powerful blend of electric garage & soul - classic car city guitars & a stompin' rhythm section topped by old soul vocals courtesy of Rachel Nagy. Rough Trade. 2003.
Customer Reviews:
Only 7 songs, but they're gems.......2003-11-23
If you have their other cds and, like me, simply CANNOT get enough, well, then, YES, you DO need to get this CD. 4 terrific rockers, 1 slow soulful, 1 (maybe)gospel-rock, and 1 that defies description (Insane Asylum has a male vocal until Rachel chimes in as powerfully as usual)
I made a "Best of" cd for my car stereo and picked 5 of these 7; not a bad payoff for the purchase (and then stuck the other 2 songs on at the end, anyway!)
Let's roll!.......2003-05-08
Original? Maybe not very, but high-quality, rootsy rocky R&B doesn't need to be. It just has to be good and sincere. This is.
Only seven songs, but enough variation on the album. And all songs are more than 'okay'.
A short album, but fortunately there's a 'repeat-button'on my CD player.

1: Pieces of me(Radio Edit #2)-3/5
2:Pieces of me(david garcia high spies remix club mix)-3/5
3:Pieces of me(29 palms remix vocal edit)-4/5
4:Shadow/ autobiography /La La /Better off(snippet medley)-5/5
5:Pieces of me(Video performance only)-4/5
