Album Description

Folk Import, The Glory is Suzanne McDermott's 5th album. Recorded in The Netherlands with Dutch musicians on baritone and tenor saxophone, percussion, bass, piano and bandonion this new project rolls with infectious rhythm and melodious lines of incisive, poetic lyrics.

12 new songs about a monster, The Devil, the pirate Anne Bonny, a world without trees, matter becoming spirit, the painter Charlotte Salomon, a nation of sheep, rowing, paradise, love and other things....

The Glory, produced by Ankie Keultjes of The Very Girls and The Watchman, is scheduled for January 2003 release in Europe on CRS/Rounder Europe.

Earlier work that put Suzanne on the songwriting map include "The 3 Dreams of J. Robert Oppenheimer", "The California Sun", "When You Became My Child", "The Roswell Incident" and "Great Day."

Performing Songwriter Magazine included earlier albums in their "Top D.I.Y", Sing Out! Magazine calls Suzanne McDermott "a serious songwriter deserving of attention." and Dirty Linen finds her work "compelling".

See links to earlier albums Ephemera, Souvenir and the Christmas album "Out Under the Sky.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Suzanne McDermott The Glory.......2003-01-15

"Suzanne McDermott shines on her new CD, "Glory". Her crystalline voice reminds me of Judy Collins, and her eye for detail and turns of phrase tell vivid, compelling stories. Intriguing, beautiful work, and highly recommended."
