Ulysses Siren was part of the thrash metal explosion back in the mid-80s in the Bay Area. Due to the huge amount of bands that emerged during the time, obviously some got overlooked. Ulysses Siren was one of them.

The problem is, I don't understand why. Ulysses Siren is better than probably 99% of all other thrash bands...and yes, this includes the Big Four (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax).

This album will kick you right in the teeth. It's sheer brutality is unbelievable. It's fast and heavy and loud, just like thrash metal ought to be. Not just that, but Ulysses Siren were excellent musicians, and this album showcases their talent well.

Basically, imagine Dark Angel taking the 1980's versions of Slayer and Metallica, grilling them over a fire made with vintage Megadeth, adding a helping of Overkill and a slice of Testament and then serving it to Exodus for breakfast and you'll be in the ballpark.

Ulysses Siren is the best thrash I've ever heard. Period.

WOW!!!

Only a few people on this planet know about this album!! the band themselve's are RUSSIAN/SLAV PRIDE!!!!AND SO AM I!!

That fag(the review below) that trashed this is an obvious ''anti racist'' JOO...who just wanted to bad mouth the album!!

This is so unlike any other ''BLACK METAL''..sure I mean they will compare it to BURZUM..but I dont think they are really anything alike!!

These song's are LLLLOOOONNNGGG!!! this is BLACK DOOM!! a gerne I love!!

I like the last two song's alot as well..pure BEAUTY!! these are just clean guitar's and opera like vocal's..and NO these arent female vocal's!!

All in ALL this is easily one of my all time FAVE BLACK METAL album's!!! NOTHING CAN REALLY COME CLOSE IN TERM's of ATMOSPHERE!!!!!

At first I was quite thrilled about getting this album, but I soon discovered that the lyrics and the ideals of the band support a strong white-supremist point of view that is stronly Neo-Nazi. Just read their lyrics and you can see what I am talking about. Even worse, their music is very poor and uneventful. Just another band thrying to follow some trendy scene. Don't waste your time on talentless blackmetal like this. Try Ulver or Mysticum instead.
