Current group formed by the former QUATERNA REQUIEM guitar-player Junior JONES, INDEX sounds very much like that group or APOCALYPSE. The Brazilian musicians play Progressive rock in the classic style, in which electric and acoustic guitars always come to support the keyboards (Hammond organ and Moog). Uplifting and melodic Progressive rock, worth hearing. Their second album called "Liber Secundus" (2001) shows that they have reached new heights. Some PINK FLOYD-inspired ambiences are always present and wonderfully blend with the typical South-American symphonic style. All this also reminds of CAMEL and YES... Mainly based on the instrumental developments, this major works is also important because it includes excellent vocals (In Portuguese) on four of the seven tracks. The third opus is back with the all-instrumental formula, and simply called "Identidade" (2005). Once again published as a joint-venture between the Musea and Rock Symphony labels, this beautiful piece of art displays eight tracks both delicate and filled with symphonism, highlighting a final suite clocking at 13 minutes. No doubt that INDEX is now one of the leaders of the so-called South-American symphonic school !

This is the newest album from the dynamic duo Sandy e Junior from Brazil. Don't believe those one-star review of S&J's other CDS they ROCK! Sandy has a beautiful powerful and angelic voice and her brother is a great singer and an even better muscian! This CD sold over 1,000 copies in it's first week in Brazil!!!The music is wonderful my favorite songs are "Encanto" meaning "Encounter" and "Sem Teu Amor" meaning "Without your Love" This is a great recomnadation if you are learning Portuguese!

This is the best Sandy & Junior's album... Less excessively sweet songs, more good pop rock. They composed and wrote 6 songs (two of them with no other partners) and Junior made 6 arrangements (not alone yet, but that is great however), and he is one of the producers too. They're growning up and also their music. The album begin with me favourite song, Música e Paixão, composed by Junior. There are some cool guitars on that. The next song, Encanto, returns to the romantic formula that sold 13,500,000 copies of their albuns, like Você pra sempre and Conto de Amor... but I don't like those. I recommend to listen, besides Música e Paixão, Desperdiçou (there's a scream of Sandy that I think that sounds like Christina Aguilera), Nada vai me sufocar (with Junior singing a little cool rap in it), Libertar (a pop rock composed by them with their father and with Junior as lead singer), Razões pra sonhar (strong and dramatic, composed by S&J with other partner) and 18 graus (cool and sexy, composed by Sandy & Junior too).
I think they are very talented and will make thousand of albuns better than that. But Identidade begins a new time in their carreer... They are find their way, their identity, as the album title, and their identity sounds great!!
