Product Description
The band : Formed in 1980 in Mexico, this band released its first album, followed by " Reminiscencias " in 1985, " Adolescencia Cronica " (1988), " En busca de Sentido " (1989), " En concierto " (1990), "La reencarnacion de Maquiavelo" (1991), "De Todos Uno" (1995). Awarded three times as Mexico's best rock band of the year by the rock press, Iconoclasta is one of the most important groups of the progressive rock scene in Mexico. The album: Initially released in 1989, Iconoclasta's fourth album is one of their essential albums. These six mid-long instrumental pieces (6 to 8 minutes) develop a clever and sincere progressive music. The composer, the keyboardist Ricardo Moreno, creates very personal pieces, with guitar in the foreground (two guitar players on this album), underlined by organ, piano or synth parts, and dynamic rythms. The main influences are E.L.P., Yes, Genesis or National Health, but Iconoclasta also includes traditional mexican music or jazzy sequences: an excellent and original band.

Possibly the best mexican classicsymphoprog, along with Cast.......2003-01-09
They are a bit derivative (their style being ELP and Yes oriented and also in the vein of Genesis' "Wind and Wuthering" sometimes)nevertheless are worth checking out !!
