Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars "bitter about life in general".......2003-06-01

I must agree wholeheartedly with the previous reviewer regarding this release, it does have an originality to it, and it is certainly one of the best releases by the late, great Slap-A-Ham records(r.i.p.)(who put out awesome stuff from Phobia, Spazz, No Comment, etc., etc., countless other classics). The vocalist sounds like a drill instructor from hell, and the music is great fastcore with structure, but also still quite violent in nature. The bands' slogan seems to be "bitter about life in general", as is on the back cd art. My favorite track is "homeless", talking about how the government blows money on weapons and wars, and gives humanitarian aid to other countries while there's people starving and homeless in our own back yard. This band really has some good, honest things to say regarding a variety of social issues, so anyone into good political hardcore or crust/grind should like this. Check out Deep Six records site and you should be able to pick this up, as well as a new release from a band called Burn Your Bridges, featuring members of Spazz and Lack of Interest.

5 out of 5 stars Original hardcore from the people behind deep six..........2000-06-24

This is up there with slap-a-ham's best releases. I absolutly love this CD. Lack of Interest is so good, they play fast hardcore with original vocals, not your usual death metal screams, were talking dog barks. Awsome! My favorite song by Lack of Interest has to be My Life. There lyrics dont really talk about much except for how much they hate people. O.G. ghetto grind from Burbank, California. If you are into bands like stapled shut, infest, spazz, plutocracy, ect. youll love them. This record really cracks me chaps up mate.

3 out of 5 stars Flock of Sigelmans.......2002-09-07

A powerhouse band that suffered greatly from the loss of celloist and sexual tiger, Ben "Harry" Sigelman. The CD itself features Ben but the live performance has degraded without his tasteful cello lines and heartfelt vocals. And Ben's abs...man...you could shred cheese on those things. I guess 'Somewhat Bitter' is my favorite track mainly because...man...i'm sorry..those abs...but seriously, a great song that reminds me of alot of my favorite modern bands: Matchbox 20, Megadeth, Flock of Seagulls, The Kicking Ninjas, and BroTiger. All in all the band is on its way to major stardom. I would give it more than three stars but Ben's ABSence has damaged the band's once sexy image. Rock on Almost Speechless. Rock on.

    5 out of 5 stars What a great band!!.......2001-12-26

Excellent CD with amazing songs and very emotional lyrics. I have seen this band live and they are incredible. They have wonderful stage presence and they always seem to captivate their audience. This CD is worth checking out and if you get a chance to see the band, they're amazing...

    5 out of 5 stars Great Sound.......2001-04-16

I found this band on MP3.com over a year ago and instantly I was drawn into the wonderful, thoughtfull, and powerful sound that they have. I needed more, and I bought this CD. There are very uplifting songs (One Hell of a Year), some very powerful slower songs (Tragedy Todd) and ones that will get traped inside your head (Sadie's Eyes, Voice of Elvis). Trapped Inside a Monday has been one of my five most listened to CD's in the past year. If you are fans of Counting Crows, Ben Harper, Dave Matthews and others like them; you will not be disapointed with Almost Speechless. I hope the tour the midwest sometime. I will be in line to see them for sure!
