Produced by Mark Howard of Lucinda Williams, Tom Waits, Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan's "Time out of Mind" fame, LONG LONELY JOURNEY shines. The opening song TAKE MY BREATH AWAY draws you in on an ocean of swaying pedal steel guitar into a gentle love ballad with a beautiful chorus. Take a listen and you will soon be singing along with this melodically and lyrically engaging tune. It is clear from the beginning of BLOWIN' IN AND OUT OF THE DUST that you are about to be swept along on a voyage of discovery. Like many of Peter's songs, it is not only a song of the sea, but also a trip on that inner wave. The lyrics that start the story, "I was captain of the ship, and I had a pleasant voyage..." later lead to the poetic lines..... "I was open, I was broken, I was underneath the clouds, There was nothing I did want for, nothing I could cry out loud."... This song is pushed along by a rolling rhythm section and richly textured pedal steel guitar. Peter's unique hammer-on finger picking style and passionate vocal make this a folk/rock tour-de-force.

      Album Description

      Brett Vogel's debut release, Lonely Traveler, combines tasty guitar melodies and catchy lyrics on songs that explore the emotional depths of love as well as the emotional state of the world today. The music will appeal to a mainstream audience, but the music itself has it's own distinct sound. The sound of the record is very original and eclectic: with reggae influences on the first track "Lonely Traveler", Trumpets on "The Sea of Madness", a harmonica on "No Grace in Goodbye's", Spanish Guitar on "Wishing You Were Here", and news footage incorporated into the "The World's on Fire". Vogel has succeeded in creating a truly brilliant and unique debut album.

      He is a friend of my friend and he is fantastic. I saw him live and he has a great voice. The album is a mixture of genre it seems but it blends nicely. This is a must buy!

                APACHE TEARS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS EVER WRITTEN ABOUT THE SORROW FELT BY THE APACHE PEOPLE AS THEIR GREAT LEADERS, GERONIMO AND NACHEE WERE SEPARATED FROM THEIR FAMILYS AND FRIENDS AND SENT INTO EXILE, NEVER TO RETURN. A HEARTFELT BALLAD FROM THE PEOPLES HEART TODAY. THIS SONG ALONE IS WORTH THE PRICE OF THE CD.

                The song Lonely Hotel alone is worth the price of this CD. It is a jukebox favorite and something of an insider's hit in areas where Hoppey frequently plays. Hoppey fans often forget that it isn't actually a chart hit. It could be. Great song, great lyrics, great voice. If you are looking to discover a great new artist, all of Will Hoppey's CDs are worth a listen.

                I bought this CD at Alley Oops pub in Pa when Will Hoppey was starting out and I listened to it ALL the time - until it was stolen from my car :( I was so glad to be able to purchase it online because it's not available qhere I live.
