Top italian symphonic prog
I have heard the other greats from italy, and this cd is on par with the greatest of all time. If you like PFM, Banco, etc, you will love this one.

By forgetting their best "The myth of the Chrysalides", whose greatest effort should be appreciated much more through a digitally remastered-version, they naturally have produced a good album!! They are still one of the best prog bands in Italy, their music being characterized, as usual, by their typical romantic/symphonic prog (early Genesis-oriented)and the epic sound of ELP as well ... certainly They have been supporting the headliner "Banco del Mutuo Soccorso" for many years and in several italian gigs too; nevertheless making proselytes such as the excellent "Aufklarung" (listen to "Io e la tempesta", if you succeed in finding it ...), these latter improving the sound of Ezra Winston in the recent times very well,with a major symphonic impact too !! But talking about this work by E.W., I like to point out the cool airy symphonic breaks through and the sense of melody as well,which enriches the sound, sometimes by means of flutes/horns with a medieval mood !!Moreover the magical interplay between the keyboards and the guitars and the change of dynamics/airy atmospheres too, make this work very interesting!! At last a bonus track "Shades of grey", a delicate and sweet song, broken by a fine guitar solo in the middle section ...

Recommended,expecially if you like the typical atmosphere of romantic prog, but before this one start with "The myth of Chrysalides" !!

Following the paths opened so long ago in the early 70s by PFM, and later by Le Orme and Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, this italian quintet brings us mediaeval, as well as post-Genesis like music suites. A must have album for symphonic prog lovers. Highly recommendable for any modern music researcher. Lyrics in english.
