Meh.......2006-10-29
I actually happen to like this. I thought, cheesiness aside, it was fairly well done. I actually think the Quartet's version of Kody stands on its own.
However, what really peeved me was that the track listing was completely messed up. It didn't strike me as being a very respectful tribute if they couldn't manage to get that straigtened out.
Overall, intriguing, but not wholly satisfying.
Not what I expected.......2005-09-16
Being die-hard Matchbox 20 fans, we were pretty excited to hear this CD, unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. I guess there is not much you can do with a quartet, I thought the arrangements sounded "cheesy"--we laughed at how bad it was.
Quite pleasing..........2005-01-28
I think this is one album that Matchbox Twenty fans should definitly look into. I must say that you should not expect any sort of guitars or any instruments of that sort. The instruments used, as stated on the back cover of the case, are violins, cellos, violas, and bass. Of course, there may be some other unknown instruments used, but don't expect to be jammin' to the beats or anything. Anyway, let's review the album.
This albume consists of 9 Matchbox Twenty songs and 1 original composition. Each song is arranged to sound just like the original, except with different instruments, or course. You can go to any song and you'll know which one it is just a few seconds into it... that is, if you know the original songs as well. And sometimes you might actually want to sing to them too. The only down side to this album is that, when I first started listening to it, each song was kind of repetitive. Not that each song sounded the same, but the songs sort of repeated themselves. But I got over that quickly, and it doesn't bother me anymore. Anyway, overall, it's a great album. It's an excellent addition to a fan's collection. I just wish that they waited another year so they could do songs from Matchbox Twenty's album "More Than You Think You Are" and get some more songs onto this.
Good Match.......2004-12-13
I bought this CD and flipped. I am a big MB20 fan, and when I heard the starting notes of "Bent" I flipped. It was extremely well done for a quartet of musicians. I suggest if you like MB20 then you should buy the CD.
This is what classical music should sound like.......2004-03-31
A lot of classical music is so boring I just want to drive off the road when I hear it on the radio. This one is different. Even if I didn't know any of the songs, I would still like this CD. Each instrument gets its moments. Unlike other classical tribute CD's, it sounds as if the musicians actually understand the music they are playing.

Pretty Cool Just Because They Are M20 Songs .......2005-04-10
What can I say. If they weren't M20 songs, I would have never bought it. Can't say Tapping The Urge's a good band but they didn'r do such a bad job copying M20's songs. I'd say this is for a M20 fan only.
WOW THIS IS GREAT.......2004-10-07
I MAYSELF AM NOT A BIG FAN BUT MY SISTER IS A HUGH MB20 FAN. I GETTING HER IS ALBUM JUST CAUSE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH MB20. I NEVER BELIVE A BAND COULD DO THE SONG JUSTICE BUT FROM WHAT I HEARD THIS BAND DOES A D@M GOOD JOB OF IT. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THESE SONGS ARE ROB HEART.
KEEP SINGING ROB, KYLE, ADAM, PAUL, POOKIE <-------(brian for those who dont know.
Im still laughing!!!! I've seen so many bad tributes today!.......2004-04-21
LOL!!! JUST LISTEN THE SAMPLES...
Matchbox 20 is not a band that i dislike (in fact i have 2 cds) but i think that a tribute must be to someone who really deserves it.
Absolutely ghastly!.......2004-02-08
I don't get it. I just simply do not get it. Why would anybody by this "tribute" which is HORRIBLE, when you could buy albums by the real Matchbox Twenty for the same price? This CD is abominably bad! They butchered every single song, especially Bright Lights! There is nothing redeeming about this CD at all. The delivery and arragements on every song are disgraceful, and the vocals are horrible. They don't do the band justice at all! I've heard better Matchbox Twenty in karaoke bars! Don't waste your money on this piece of garbage. There's only one Matchbox Twenty.
THIS "TRIBUTE" SUCKS!.......2004-01-04
How could you call this a "tribute"? Every song is sung by "Tapping the Urge," a virtually unknown band who is nothing close to the real thing. Why listen to this CD when you can listen to the real versions sung by Matchbox 20? Don't waste your money on this...go out and buy the actual MB20 cds.
